The worst meijer layout I've ever experienced. I do not understand why I have to walk both ends of a grocery store to get groceries. Multiple times I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't find common items but they were in different parts of the store. For example, frozen meatballs aren't in the frozen foods section. They're in a freezer near packaged nuts and produce. I posted a picture... the feta cheese in the front of the store near the deli but no feta cheese can be found with any other cheese in the deli section. Completely opposite side of the store. Employees are nice but the layout is awful. read more

I had an issue with an incompetent employee at self check out, and to top it off I had to wait for another employee to come help me properly. When I 1st walked in there was a strobbing light in the bakery section and I have a seizure disorder and it made me feel bad in my head. I brought up the issue to the employee who did help me, and also another lightbulb that was doing the same thing. She was rude and did not care. And did not want to get a manager to come help. Also there was no manager available, which is unacceptable. The strobbing light was unacceptable as well. I would recommend going to another Meijer. NOT this 1! read more

This is the worst Meijer I've ever been to. The layout if very strange and not typical of Meijer. The Food is spread out all over the place. Took me 35 minutes to find eggs, which wear near the shoes and frozen. Ummmm ok, logical right. They have a very limited selection if home goods compared to other Meijer locations. I was unable to find several things I was looking for and had to go next door to Walmart. I will drive the extra 7 minutes for the Rochester Rd. Meijer in the future. read more

Don't get balloons at Meijer, a modern fairytale: *first off all of the balloons were tied onto one balloon string, instead of individual, the end result being a weird crown of balloons *at checkout the cashier literally untied one of the specialty balloons to scan it, then let it go. So id like to know how much the cashier's at meijer are making, it can't be much because there are only 2 lines open EVER other than the self checkouts. The lines are RIDICULOUSLY LONG. People standing there for an hour meanwhile the frozen foods unthawing, forget getting ice cream because itll be bad before you leave. I used to love meijer but now 2-3x a week i DREAD going. I don't mind using the self checkout atall except every other item itll stop working so you have to call an employee over and wait..and wait and wait some more because everyone else's machines are down also. So why shop there? Because im not getting paid as a cashier or bagger, but if i don't go in self checkout and do everything myself, ill be in an hour 1/2 line with food that's gone bad Mejjers makes enough money to pay an APPROPRIATE WAGE to there worker's/future workers so they can hire more help smh. First visit here, since pre covid. EVERYONE was wearing masks properly. All employees friendly and helpful. Many of the aisles are being revamped- lots of aisles have no signage up yet. Still out of quite a few items. Why is there no diet squirt anywhere? Toothpaste was wiped out, as was Advil, Tylenol section. No lines a bottle return ! read more

I usually shop at the Meijer off Coolidge because it is about two miles from where I grew up. I stopped by Trader Joe's to pick up a few things, but produce isn't their thing. Meijer has a great select of fruit. I bought some juicy "peacharines" (hybrid peach and tangerine). The layout is different here. I guess one gets use to what is familiar to you. I had to register my mom for her M perks and explain to her how to do it. The cashier was helpful, so hopefully they will be like that at the Royal Oak location. Best part of my visit... I love Meijers! I used to shop with them before I moved out of state, and now that I moved back to Michigan, I find myself stopping in here for just about everything. Their a Michigan staple, and you can easily find one in just about every town. Some of the reasons why I like this store is that it's neat, clean, well stocked, the staff is friendly and the prices are great. Some of the reasons why I struggle with Meijers themselves is that I used to be able to find everything here, and unfortunately, they don't seem to have as much stuff as I remember. Recently, I was looking for a can holder for my fridge, and they didn't carry it. I was slightly disappointed, but Meijer's is still my favorite store. This location's great. Awesome deli staff, friendly helpful people, and you can come here 24 hours a day. Keep up the good work! read more

Went shopping at meijer (marketplace location) so disappointed big time. Store was a mess. Shelves were basically empty. I expected that to a point. The big issue was how dirty the store was. Sugar on the floor and all over the shelves. Bread on the floor. Moldy produce, brown lettuce (all varieties) and just pure grossness. The fruit was horrible. Brown grapes and bruised apples. Needless to say i did not purchase any fresh produce except a small bunch of broccoli. It still cost me over $200 for the minimal groceries. Will not return. read more

Today is Fat Tuesday and boy, was I exited to get some Paczki's. (Did I spell it right?) Actually, I was surprised of how good they were! I've had worse experiences here, that's why I took a star off. The store itself gave happy vibes. It has all the essentials a grocery store needs. Not the best, but definitely good. I love the little bakery part. It's so cute! The cashiers depend on wether your lucky or not. Usually I get ones who smile, and I like that. So Meijer's isn't a bad place to go grocery shopping, even though Whole Foods is my favorite. :) read more

I love this Meijer's. Probably because the people that work there are so amazing. From the dairy/freezer food section, beauty/health, dry foods, produce, through to check out and customer service. I tend to compare them to other locations and other trendy stores. I always think this store is the one for me. They recently did a bit of reworking the shelves and new products. Was told order had gotten stuck in their "system" and I had to repay. I only had my keys and DL no credit card. After screwing around for nearly an hour a woman claiming to be a manager would not release 40 bucks worth of groceries so I could go home and call back with my payment. She told me several lies. I was totally pissed and indignant over her inability to make the right call and to think i would steal. She hung up on me. Today, 11/23, i reordered again for pickup at 3pm. This Meijer is a convenient location for us and it is a nice newer building, but they really need to fix some things. Almost every single time we go to this particular Meijer, there are problems with the motorcarts. My uncle has a difficult time shopping at this Meijer because he can't walk very well and the motorcarts are either never charged or don't work at all. Also, they need to hire staff who will actually keep the shelves stocked. Like the Walmart up the street, they are always out of a lot of items we need to buy. We prefer the other Rochester Hills Meijer or their Auburn Hills store for these reasons. We only shop here as a last resort. read more

Still my go-to place for shopping for groceries and general merchandise. Produce quality rivals some of the specialty markets and often price as well. Employees here have always been polite and helpful. And being located less than three miles away from home makes for a winning combination for me. read more

Only 4 cashiers working at any given time and lines to use self checkout can take 40 minutes- the lines daily go into the card section or clothing section. More employees are needed. Major stock issues since the pandemic as well despite Kroger and other neighboring Meijers have most items in stock pretty consistently. Also, we don't need greeters at the door to say hello.. would much prefer to have additional cashiers who can actually check out and keep the process of moving quickly read more

I've been shopping at meijer for basically my whole life! I have plenty of memories with Penny the horse as a kid. I have to comment on the wine, beer, and liquor selection at this location in particular because it is on point. They are basically well-stocked in all of my faves - you can't beat the selection and it seems to continuously grow. I prefer this location over the location on Rochester Rd - it's just cleaner overall and the staff seems more friendly. (And yes - definitely aware that this location was clearly built much more recently than the other Rochester location! the layout and experience overall is just better overall, IMO) I prefer coming here in the later evening, and generally not on the weekends. This is my style for most of my shopping, personally - mostly because I hate grocery shopping (who actually likes it?! haha) and the lines here are for sure easy to deal with. Even in busier times I have been here, I've never waited for very long. Would recommend any time! read more

The store is ok in terms of items that they stock, but the checkout process is the worst. Tonight was no exception. At 6:30 PM they had TWO lanes open with cashiers...and each lane had at least 10 customers waiting. They finally opened a third lane, only to close one of the others! The self checkout line always has at least 2 dozen people in it, some with full baskets...This place is so slow that they almost make Walmart look good! read more

Thanks for messing up my grandsons first birthday cake. I asked for a 5 inch celebration cake and even showed the girl in the bakery department exactly what I wanted. I get there and there is a 12 inch double layer cake waiting for me. They said that is what I ordered. So the customer is the idiot. 6pm on Monday there's 3 cashiers. Lines are long and worker says they're short staffed. People are forced to try the self serve lanes. Those are long as well. But it's probably a conspiracy to utilize those lanes to justify not hiring Actual cashiers. read more

Whatever you do, don't come here. This Meijer is nice and clean and uncrowded and everything I want in a supermarket. The staff is pleasant and remembers me from past visits. Of all the meijer's I've been to.. This is my favorite! It's layout is a little different- but I think it's supposed to be 'green' or something. Good for you for breaking the rules Meijer! As much as its odd to hike to the middle of the store for cold goods... You get all your shopping done, wander where you wish... And then get the icecream before you leave. The shelves are always stocked... I always get what I need ( and then some)... They have great clearance items post holidays etc. And most of the time my udis gluten free bread is in stock. Friendly staff, lots of checkouts that are actually open (what a concept)... Only a few times have I waited in longer lines. Well done Meijer. read more
