Not a bad store, except that it is nearly impossible to even get someone to look your direction…read more The selection is what you would expect for a place that buys from people. It is inconsistent, but you can also find some pretty cool things. Prices are not bad and they often have deals if you buy multiple items. I would say that they are better for movies than anything else; it is a pretty vast selection. It can be crowded and a bit messy. It seems like the employees are most of the problem here. The shelves can be really out of order and I have seen many times when the same item was listed at multiple different prices or had gunk and other stickers all over it. If you are patient and do not mind doing all the work yourself you can find decent deals; just be prepared to wait ages for anyone to help with things you cannot reach yourself.

I've been a Sam's Club shopper at multiple warehouses across the country. The one in Champaign IL…read morehas to be the worst one. The customer service is poor; their system is often "down;" prices at the register often don't match the advertised prices; but the worst thing is check-out. You'll have to load all the contents of your cart onto the conveyor yourself, as checkers have no assistance and it must not be part of their job description. Bathrooms need more often cleaning, and could definitely use updating. I now see why most of my friends and family prefer the Champaign Costco. Avoid at all costs!

I enjoy window shopping here once in a while…read more Even though we seldom buy anything, I adore the home section in particular. It's usually brimming with cool knickknacks, wall decor items, lamps, the odd accent chairs and ornament tables thrown in for good measure. There's so much beauty to behold here. It's like a poor man's art gallery. Or an Ikea on a more manageable level. And the best thing about TJ Maxx: prices aren't exorbitant. Which's just as well considering the fact that it's a discount retailer. I can totally see myself decorating our apartment with stuff bought from TJ Maxx if I had a ton of money. As things currently stand, I'm just content browsing through the aisles, oohing and aahing at all the lovely stuff from a distance!

It was 11:30 on a Friday morning, and I was later told by an employee that no security were even in the store yet! The manager emerged from her office looking bewildered. The staff were extremely disorganized in figuring out how to handle this. Not very confidence inspiring! I now drive to the Bloomington or Decatur TJMAXX, although this type of incident seems to happen anywhere these days. Just relieved that no guns were displayed.
