As a pain patient and advocate, a person who has been in the pain community for many, many years,…read moreone of my biggest and earliest bugaboos was some of the side-eye that can happen when you're a chronic sufferer. Those who've shared this experience know exactly (and unfortunately!) what I'm talking about. So, coming back to Champaign after being gone for 15 years, naturally, one of my biggest anxieties was setting up the systems that'd make even simply daily living... possible. And finding a pharmacy, nay PHARMACIST, was one of the most towering tasks! When I first met Kristin (and I hope she forgives me if I've misspelled!), I wasn't sure she and I were going to be fast friends! LOL! But, after that first initial meet-up, after working with her for just ten minutes, I knew she knew what she was doing! Immediately, I noted she had an eye for detail, while also concentrating on about thirty other things! She puzzled out the difficulties of prescriptions and a doctor's "idea" of them ;D, along with my different insurances, fighting to safeguard my privacy. Dignity in medicine isn't always an easy thing to find, but while you might find Kristin *serious*, she's also genuinely caring, empathetic, and seems to really want to *know* the customer she's serving. Sometimes, especially in the pain community, the details really are in the story of a person's life. When I shared mine with her, she appreciated it, and even though we've only dealt with one another just a couple of times, she still *recognizes me*, even just on the phone, so you tell it's important to her. Where you get that kind of customer services (or when you get it!) these days is rare and definitely in-between! I never expected to be giving a Walgreens a 5-star rating, but it's because of Kristin that Walgreens -- at least thus far, at least for me -- has been a 5-star experience! =) I wish her and her team all the best!

Recently I had an unusual eye situation; Dr. Meyer understood it better than a local ophthalmologist who was always in a hurry and never did listen to me as I tried to describe what happened. I have little experience with the frames issues mentioned here. Dr. Meyer understands and assists me with the somewhat unusual visual needs that I present her with. The lenses I prefer cannot be made locally; she has had no difficulty limiting her services to examination and refraction, for which her charges are very reasonable. I send my prescription to a specialist half way across the country who puts new custom lenses into my frames.

Poor communication. Unnecessarily difficult. Unprofessional. Complete waste of time…read more A page on their website (i.e. "Location, Hours and Contact") has a link to a site for ostensibly scheduling an appointment (i.e "Contact us now to schedule your appointment"). So, I did. Except, contrary to appearances, that doesn't actually schedule an appointment. Somebody from the office called a few days later to say they didn't actually have an available appointment. If the "Schedule and Appointment" site is not actually for that purpose, then be explicit about that. I got an exam elsewhere and then gave Kessler Optical a second chance because they supposedly carry a line of frames in which I was interested. I walked into the business during their stated hours of operation, only to be told they don't accept walk-ins. If that's their policy, then they should state that on their website. I should add that the woman at the front desk was unapologetic about any of this and unnecessarily difficult. If a business repeatedly fails to communicate clearly and inconveniences a customer as a result, then the business should acknowledge that and, ideally, try to make amends. Kessler Optical did none of that. I had limited time and needed to place an order for new glasses quickly before traveling for the holidays. Kessler Optical was a waste of precious time.
