    I was here this past Monday evening as I had seen some socks on sale online. Went to the checkout,…read morewhere the young girl immediately tried to talk me into signing up for a credit card. After I told her no she continued her pitch for me to get a credit card that I do not want. And even made her unwanted pitch a third time. Why does the word annoying come to mind... She rang up the socks at a higher than expected price, so I said I thought they were on sale. She said no they're full price, $22. When I got to the car, I decided to check the price online. $5.50 less. I decided to go back inside and I told her they are on sale online, can't you honor the price? Let's be real about JCPenney's situation. It was 7:00 p.m., I don't think I even saw five shoppers in the whole store. She said "No, that's an online price". That's all she had to say, she couldn't bother to say anything such as "I could ask my manager". I told her, get a manager for me. He came up front and adjusted the price for me. So what is the problem with the young brunette at the checkout who showed no regard for a customer satisfaction with her short and unhelpful answers? But, she was very willing to use words when she was trying to talk me into a credit card I have no need for. And not once or twice, but three times. I hate to see this story go out of business because there are few brick and mortar retail stores like JCPenney. If their prices in the store were as advertised online, wouldn't they bring in more traffic? And if they had something that resembled friendly and helpful customer service more people would probably shop here also. She had plenty of time to help me, there was no one in line behind me.

    As another reviewer stated, this store doesn't handle returns for online purchases. I bought four…read morephoto frames online; two I didn't like once I saw them live. The third one, although pricey, had two instances of gaps in the corners where the front frame sides meet. Despite this obvious imperfection, they included it in my online order. I went to the store to do the online return. I had the electronic receipt for payment I made when doing the online order. The girl at the front desk could not get anything to come up in their system when scanning the sticker they put on the bag my order was filled. I showed her the online receipt with the bar code and order number. She couldn't get that to work either. Then she says "since you don't have a receipt, I can give you a store credit". I told her no. I showed her the Michael's receipt on my phone. I don't come here often and I'm not going to go to Michael's and buy things I don't want just to use up a $50 store credit. Then she said she'd get the manager since "sometimes she knows how to do these things. We have problems with online orders sometimes". The manager was able to get the refund back on my credit card. This turned out to be a 15 minute negative experience. If this store has known issues for processing refunds for online orders, pick up the phone and talk to corporate about their systems so they can fix it! To sum it up, there was little regard for the customer experience with his the store handled this.
