Location: Is easy to find, located right next to Rivertown Crossing Mall off of 44th Street. This Meijer works hard to be great. They have friendly greeters (I am so used to seeing the same couple all the time that they know my kiddos!). Many Meijer brand products are actually the name brand products but labeled for Meijer (I never knew that till I went on a tour). This Meijer is more expensive on items then the Jenison one (they vary prices according to location of the store). This is a large newer Meijer, normally always busy & they tend to run out of items faster due to that. I do like that their produce section is in the front! Bathrooms at both entrance areas & the back of store (this helps when you have kiddos!). Generally very clean store.

I'm from the south, so Walmart is pretty popular, but this place reminded me of the good Walmarts where I live. I love how everything seemed open in the store. I felt comfortable walking through the various aisles as there was enough space for multiple people to pass by. The next time I'm in the north, this is the only place I could think of to get quality goods.

This happens to be my favorite Meijer store in the city. Possibly because it is one of the newest, but also because they work hard to differentiate themselves. They have friendly greeters and people to help you find the best checkout line. I've used almost exclusively Meijer brand products in my apartment where there was an alternative to the name brand. The Meijer brand products are often identical and cheaper, with very few exceptions (hated their cream of mushroom soup). Higher standards than Walmart, lower prices than other grocery stores. Great place to shop.

Very poor customer service! I waited in line for 40 mins today to check out! That's ridiculous! I'm very irritated!

I've been consistently impressed with Rise in my five years here in GR. I have not been dedicated…read moreto anything like vegetarian or vegan exclusively, but I was raised with a whole lot of alternative food options and what's so amazing how absolutely yummy everything they have on their menu truly is with less of the bad-for-you stuff. Sure it's a little pricey, but you're going to pay more for premium crafted fare. They also have an awesome little patio hidden in the back, which is just delightful on the nice days that we have in the spring and summer and fall in Grand Rapids. They're very convenient to the Zoo so you can include them in making a day out of your excursion on West Fulton. The coffee beverages are top-notch and the baked goods are right there with them. Rise is a highlight of the John Ball hood. Now, this might not be the place for thin-skinned MAGA b*tch-boys with fragile egos and issues -ahem- compensating... but for grownups with regular-sized brains (and other parts) who love an amazing local shop with values that are shared by the city and neighborhood around it? Spot-on. More places like this, and few like union-busting Starbucks, etc. Three cheers, and five stars!

I had to repeat my order like 3 times for the barista, my friend ordered two chocolate covered strawberries and got 4 & also had repeated her order a few times. It was also very cold in there. Also were out of bagels. Just not the best experience but I have experienced worse.

Ohhh... how I love Coucou so much! Joy and the team do such an amazing job and I am beyond excited…read morethat they're finally opening a brick and mortar this summer. The pop up shops are typically from 12-3pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, making it really hard for me to make, but I always try to hit it! I took a half day and went on a Friday to grab the exclusive donuts, both sandwiches (omg the focaccia is soooo good) and strawberry matcha. I honestly cannot be more thrilled by my purchase and I'm honestly surprised I didn't want to just buy one of everything (probably because a few things have tree nuts and I'm allergic). But they're more artisan priced but the portions are generous and the taste is amazingly delicious!! If you ever get a chance, grab something from her popups at Chef Shack while she's working on her brick and mortar. You will not be disappointed! Just know... the line will be long the nicer the weather gets! Bring a friend, listen to a good audiobook or podcast... even work off your hotspot to multi-task, but just get ready to wait at least an hour+. I usually get there between 11:15-11:30 and I'm in line for a minimum of an hour... just commit and it's worth it!

Tried the pop up back in March after seeing some hype online about them. Small commercial kitchen…read morethat rotates different pop ups. Its very basic inside but thats to be expected for the type of business it is. Got there early-ish, small line ahead of me. We were wanting to try some of their cupcakes and cake. There was more then a dozen left and we were next in line but the customer ahead of me wiped them out, seems like with a pop up, being early in the day they would have some sort of limit to how much each person could get, and we were told they dont restock. We sadly got 2 cookies to try instead, a chocolate chip and miso pretzel cookie, $8 for the both of them. The cookies were forgettable, if you go, I would skip on those - they didnt taste any different from a recipe you could make at home and there was 0 miso flavor in the cookie. I have a feeling the cakes would have been a lot better, probably why they got sold out. I wanted to try the focaccia bread but I thought the price point was too steep for what was being offered. The staff was 5/5 friendly. Ill probably go back and try them again in the future and hopefully get to try some of their cakes.
