This is our local Meijer. We have the Mperks card so we download coupons before we go and use them at check out to save extra. There is a large parking lot with cart corrals always loaded. When we enter we are greeted by the greeter at the door. I really enjoy that we come into the store we are on the produce side because it also has the flowers. I like the buy six alcohol options and get 10% off, I enjoy that the layout is easy to navigate and we are always able to get in and out fast. All Meijer locations are not created equal. Without covid, stock has always been poor. Never enough open lanes, and most employees are rude. I've made complaints for outright terrible service although I'm always friendly even when I'm treated poorly, and the same people are still working there with bad attitudes years later. During covid (today, first time returning here after about a year of not giving them my money), I returned my own basket but asked the greeter if there is a certain place for them since the sign by the baskets say that they are sanitized, I didn't want to contaminate clean ones. He didn't say anything, just ripped it out of my hands and put it with the rest that are supposed to be sanitized At least Walmart has a big bottle of sanitizer at the door so you can sanitize your cart and basket on your way in. I would love to give this store 5 stars but no not anymore. An employee in management position was extremely unprofessional. While we were checking out the cashier was in severe pain crying needing to sit down. She the management walks by ignoring him. After we check out we walk over to her asking her if she was management she responded yes. I explained to her our experience and I requested a chair for the employee. Her response was "he's always shaking" really you're going to tell a customer "he's always shaking" ignoring the fact he was in pain, in tears, I'm asking for a chair for him! Location: Is easy to find, located right next to Rivertown Crossing Mall off of 44th Street. This Meijer works hard to be great. They have friendly greeters (I am so used to seeing the same couple all the time that they know my kiddos!). Many Meijer brand products are actually the name brand products but labeled for Meijer (I never knew that till I went on a tour). This Meijer is more expensive on items then the Jenison one (they vary prices according to location of the store). This is a large newer Meijer, normally always busy & they tend to run out of items faster due to that. I do like that their produce section is in the front! Bathrooms at both entrance areas & the back of store (this helps when you have kiddos!). Generally very clean store. read more

I visited the location in Grandville MI today. Upon arrival to the bottle return I was informed that the machines were broken and therefore returns were not being accepted at this time. I was told that if I wanted to speak to a manager then I was more than welcome to enter the store and ask for one. Upon entering the store, the greeter working was kind enough to call the anger for me. After a few moments Rob F. approached me and asked how he could assist me. I explained that I had cans and bottles that I had a need to return. He said "our machines are broken, there is nothing I can do to help you." I explained that it is not true, he is capable of accepting the can returns and writing me a manual slip for the return of deposit. At this suggestion he laughed at me and said "I am not going to and do not have to." I explained that that is how it used to be done and he said "no it has not, this is how it has always been done." Untrue, machines have not been doing this always. I was also told the reason the machines were broken was due to the high humidity of late...every other location I spoke to (4 in the greater Grand Rapids area) all had machines up and running. So the store managers is accustomed to lying to customers? It is unlawful to collect bottle deposit for cans and bottles sold at your location but refuse to accept them back. Your acting store manager refused to accept them back. " A dealer shall not refuse to accept from a person an empty returnable container of any kind, size, and brand sold by that dealer, nor refuse to pay to the person its full refund value in cash" read more

I'm from the south, so Walmart is pretty popular, but this place reminded me of the good Walmarts where I live. I love how everything seemed open in the store. I felt comfortable walking through the various aisles as there was enough space for multiple people to pass by. The next time I'm in the north, this is the only place I could think of to get quality goods. read more

Yesterday, I decided to checkout with a cashier.. I went down lane 28 and unloaded my groceries... there was a lady ahead of me... the Cashier in a stern voice said I needed to be 6 feet back.. I looked a the cart and the lady ahead of me and I said I am.. then she said that my items on the belt need to stay back.. I told her my husband is a doctor and I am well versed on the virus... Dear Meijer, I love you and miss you and you'll always be my favorite superstore (groceries/pharm/clothes/etc) no matter how long I've lived outside of Michigan! This is the Meijer I most often frequent, even though the 36th/Clyde Park locale is technically closer. The layout makes so much sense and is spacious, there never seems to be anything out of place (even the bathrooms are clean [for public restrooms]), the staff are all super friendly and helpful, and I magically always get a close parking spot. Score! Need your hair cut? There's a barber inside. Need to mail something? They mail packages. Need a sweet treat? The bakery is just inside the door and never fails to satisfy. Need a ride on good ole Sandy? She's still only a penny! One stop shop that also makes you feel all warm and fuzzy about supporting a local (albeit large) business. Finally...if there IS something you want/need that you somehow can't find at Meijer...every other shop you could ever want is located nearby within the Rivertown Crossing area. read more

This happens to be my favorite Meijer store in the city. Possibly because it is one of the newest, but also because they work hard to differentiate themselves. They have friendly greeters and people to help you find the best checkout line. I've used almost exclusively Meijer brand products in my apartment where there was an alternative to the name brand. The Meijer brand products are often identical and cheaper, with very few exceptions (hated their cream of mushroom soup). Higher standards than Walmart, lower prices than other grocery stores. Terrible location, full of rude employees. The woman working the self-check out was more than hateful towards me today. Rudely looked me up and down after asking if I could get cash back from the machine. She insisted that I did not buy anything, despite showing her a receipt and the product in my hand. I have no idea how this woman has a job here. I couldn't find a manager to report it to because the store was too busy. I'm attempting to report it later, using my receipt. Hopefully this location will see some staff turnover soon as it's in desperate need of it. read more

The cleanest Meijer I've ever been to. Prices can be a bit higher, but nowhere close to Family Fare. If you budget correctly and hit the sale items, your bill won't be bad at all. Spotless Deli, doughnuts are delicious, and there's always someone nearby to help me find something, even at 2 AM. read more

If you have never been to a Meijer store you are missing out. There is nothing you can't get here. There were some recent ice storms and I needed some salt. Every store I went to before here was out. Meijer is big and I didn't want to have to run around looking for some in case they were out as well so I asked the greeter. Not only did he know if they had some left, he told me where it was located and the exact price. Always friendly service every time I go in. I do a lot of shopping here. All except for their meat. And the smell was so bad with rescind blood or bad meat !you lost the sale .and the smell that was left on my hand took me couple time to get the smell off them like bad fish !As a retired employee I'm so embarssed to even have to write this !
