I've come to this Meijer for over a decade. It's had renovations in recent years that made it look much nicer. They've had some of the same staff for years and I enjoy seeing them each time I go inside. My favorite is the woman who greets customers as they walk into the store. Honestly, I've always loved this location and the people are always really professional and polite. Additionally, it is always super clean and normally has everything I need in stock. And then there was today.... So I grew up in Cincinnati although I've been in the military for 22 years so I only frequent this location when I'm in town but I always go here versus the location closest to my house just because I'm so used to it and feel comfortable going here. I spent the day rushing around for last minute items for my sister's birthday party tomorrow. I almost skipped going into meijers because I was getting a migraine and didn't feel well. I had a list so I decide to just run in get the couple items on the list and leave before it got worst. I made it to the haircare aisle and picked up $3.50 hair ties then looked to see what board games were available. She wanted ouija board that they didn't have. Yeah I know she just wanted it. She's young. I got nauseous from the migraine and went to the bathroom leaving the hair ties outside the bathroom. I came out picked them up and proceeded to pick up dinner, cat food and some chocolate dipping chocolate for the fruit tray I was making. I never got a cart but I was able to make it to the self check out counter without one holding the majority of the items in my right hand and my wallet, list, keys and the hair ties in the left hand. I quickly scanned all the items in my right hand and hit the checkout button. Before I could look down to see the hair ties sitting on top of my wallet in left hand. The older gentleman working the meijers self check out lanes next to the beauty department walked up behind me extremely close and asked me how I was doing. I said I was doing fine and he dropped something metal behind me. He picked it up and walked to my right extremely close and asked if he could scan something from my purchases. I said yeah of course thinking it was odd but figured maybe they were starting something like how Sam's checks that you paid for your items as you are leaving. I thought it was still odd since I had not paid for anything yet or even pull out my card to pay but I didn't feel well so honestly I didn't care what he looked at although I felt he got way too close. He glanced down at my bag, scanned a barcode on the side of my register and said he wanted the item in my left hand. Yep the hair ties were sitting on top of my wallet in plain view in my left hand. I was still clutching them in the same hand as my wallet keys and list. I said oh damn surprised that I had not scanned them. He scanned them and walked away. I proceeded to double check to make sure I did not have anything else in that hand in between the wallet, keys and list. I don't have anything so I checked out. Yep, I must be naive because I honestly didn't understand why he was staring me down as I walked out. I made it to the exit doors and it dawned on me he actually thought I was trying to steal the $3.50 hair ties. I don't get mad but I was extremely pissed off. There were definitely better ways for him to handle it. Yes, I know it was my fault for trying to carry everything although if given the chance to get my credit card from in my wallet I would have seen the hair ties siting on my wallet. Also, there was no need to walk up so close behind or to the side of me. A simple, ma'am have you scanned that yet or ma'am do you need help with that or even allowing me to pull my credit card out and realize I still had them would have been better. Yeah, I get it. People steal stuff but sometimes it is just an accident especially since you have not even checked out yet and the item is sitting in plain site. How about we treat people with respect and not assume that they are trying to steal the cheapest item they were buying or get into their personal space. Getting that close could get employees hurt. Honestly, I felt threaten since I didn't understand why he was so close. Morale of the story don't go into the store sick or attempt to carry everything in your arms because you don't have the energy to get a cart. I'll own that but please give this gentleman a class on how to handle these situations tactfully and being mindful of his own safety risk getting that close to customers. (Any cameras will support my story ) I also look really young and most likely really sick/dazed so hopefully targeting wasn't another issue. I still like this store but there was no reason to be that close or for everything to play out as it did. read more

I bought through Instacart and when my oranges arrived, half if not most of the entire bag of oranges were rotting/rotten. I was disgusted and could only salvage about 4/5 oranges. It was a total waste of money. Even with ordering through Instacart, the fact that rotting fruit was left on shelves worries me. This isn't the first time I've had an experience with an expired food from meijers either, however because it's only happened twice I'm still giving them a chance! But let this be a warning to people buying their veggies or fruits, please make sure they're ripe/not rotten before checking out. read more

Have been shopping here for 24 years and absolutely love the people, the availability of merchandise, and the cleanliness of the store.

This is one of my favorite Meijer stores in the region. The interior always clean and the employees are always friendly, including the cashiers and greeters. They always have the groceries and school supplies that I always need, and whatever else I may want to buy. To me, Meijer has always had one of the best music compilations of any mass merchant store, outside of Target, and this location is no different. A great place to buy CD's. The produce selection is sizable and the fruits and veggies are always garden-fresh when I need them. Everything is priced moderately, though Walmart is a trifle more reasonably priced when it comes to certain departments. But I would much rather go to Meijer because the ambiance of Meijer stores is far more welcoming. The shopping experience as a whole is something that Walmart just can't match. Nothing negative, I just love Meijer. read more

This Meijer location did not impress me at all. Like a lot of stores in this area, this location felt old, dated, and run down. You can't fault a place for being old, but if it was taken better care of it wouldn't be as run down. Their selection of things were on par with other locations. They had a slightly different store setup than other Meijers I've been too, but it's still basically similar to others as well. The staff was pleasant, the greeter at the door was a really nice older gentleman. Just the store itself felt kinda blahh. read more

After arriving home around 4:20 am this is what I saw...we order delivery of groceries at 6pm the delivery was 8 to 9pm..they didn't call my wife or text her they was running late...she stays up past 12:00 am and nothing...not a call..but she called at 10pm telling them to cancel the order...she was on the phone waiting on hold for 20 minutes...lady came back to the phone just to hang it up...it is now 12:30 and they text her your order has been delivered, she sleeping so she didn't hear the text... didn't knock...so when i get home the food been sitting outside for 4 hours...vegetables and refrigerator items such as milk and cheese, and they even gave us moldy oranges...last time i ever purchase from meijer delivery service read more

Usually, Meijer service is about a 4 out of 5. Tonight, 5 out of 5. Robert W is the reason why service was excellent. He was about 1.5 hours over his scheduled break and still had a great attitude all the way through my $175.00 order. Great job Robert! In and out, no problem, and they had everything we wanted. I like that. Self checkout was easy too, but the helper was eager to step in if we needed him. I don't think I've ever been dissatisfied at any Meijer store. I'm glad this one is nearby. read more

One of the larger Meijer stores I have been to. They seem to have a bit more merchandise. Everything is more spread out. Aisles are normally free of clutter, and clean. The clothing is well organized. On my last visit, the clothing was not very well stocked. I think this was because they are trying to clear out the winter stuff, and get ready for spring. The indoor garden center already had new seeds. They seem to do a good job of opening another register when lines get long. Other locations just try to get people to use self checkout. When I come to this location it usually for general merchandise. My review doesn't reflect the fresh food section. read more

This location as recently gone through a renovation to look more like the locations back in Michigan. We stopped here after an afternoon in Cincy for a few items before we headed back to Indy. It was going to be late and this was on the way. We were able to get in and out pretty quickly. From what I could see the floors were clean, and the place was well lit. The vitamin isle I liked because they were organized by brand but not just that but labeled by the brands as well. Made it very easy to find what we needed. I didn't encounter any staff members as I did not need their help. But I saw several around if I needed something. The checkouts were free and clear and helped us get in and out as quickly as we did. read more

I typically don't go to this location because the Dent location is closer but I was in Colerain so I stopped to pick up a few things. 2 of the 6 items I was getting we're not even on stock, so that was a bummer because now I have to make another trip. The cashier was not very friendly either. I went through the self checkout and I had 1 coupon that wouldn't scan, after waiting for almost 3 minutes, I finally got her attention and she tried to tell me it wouldn't scan because I didn't buy the right amount of items (I bought 4, the coupon was for 2.50 off of 2). So she told me to take it to customer service l. Instead, after she left I tried one more time to scan it and then it worked. There were a couple other people having issues as well but she wasn't too motivated to help them. Next time I will just pass on this location and continue to go to my current store. read more

Decent clean store with friendly employees and a pretty good selection of groceries and other sundries. Much nicer than the Krogers here in the West Side. The only negative is that their produce is sometimes hit or miss on the freshness scale. read more

I recently was at Meijer. I pulled my cart up to the cart corral to unload my groceries (I was parked right next to it) I didn't realize that I had left a case of beer on the bottom of the cart. A few hours after I got home I realized I didn't bring it home. I called to see if anyone had happened to turn it in and to my surprise (and my husbands) someone did. Don't know if it was an employee or a customer.....but just wanted to say there are still good people in this world. read more

I visited Meijer's optical center on Sat 8-2-14 and was helped by a Ms. Kassandra she was helpful and very knowledgable as well as truthful. The optical center has lots of designer glasses to chose from. The doctor was very nice and pleasant such a great place to purchase glasses and obtain an eye exam all in one place. read more

Not one, not two, but a whole shelf of dead and nearly dead Betta fish in green and brown water only 1 inch deep. An employee blamed the contracted company for it, the manager said that it's a 50/50 shared responsibility, but neither one was a bit surprised to be informed of the matter or offered a solution. I was there with my 8 year old who was very upset to see helpless pets neglected in this way. We were there to look at supplies for his pet Betta fish. We chose not to support the pet department after seeing this. To knowingly neglect and allow the death of live beings in your care is inexcusable. The Fairfield Meijer is a much better option. read more
