I just moved here from out of state and was looking for a nail salon. They're very friendly and very good at what they do. I was very pleased with my services. I had Mom do my pedicure and Hannah did my acrylic nails. I no longer need to look as I'm very happy with my experience and won't go anywhere else! I highly recommend. 10/10! read more

This nail salon is lacking in the area of customer service. The owner who sits at table #1. The tech who started my nails did not know how to apply acrylic, after realizing that I requested someone else complete my nails. The owner took over but was very rude and disrespectful throughout the whole service. Even at the end when I was telling him to give the nail tech half of the tip he was very rude. Despite his attitude I still tipped both of them but I will not be returning. read more

It has been a few weeks and I am still bothered by lack of customer service - I had an appointment time, I arrived early by 8 min instead of speaking to me with any kind of explanation I could tell he had just started another customer, he ignored me until 24 minutes after my appt time at which time he was ready for me. He had no idea I skipped lunch and didn't even stop for a soda so I would be on time. No water or soda is ever offered at this locstion. I had been coming to Timmy for over a year I hope I never have to make another appt there. I was getting nails done for a business trip to the islands and this time because he was upset I pointed out how late he was at taking me he hurried and my nails fell off chipped within the week. Never again giving them my money and that is another thing every three weeks I would make an appt for filling and have my toes polished - the price waa never the same it could be $78 or as high at $104 no pedicure - post the damn prices please. The saline appears clean and updated decor but lack friendly vibe other shops have... read more

Visited here and have mixed feelings - I had a good experience but my daughter, who was with me, did not. Timmy did my nails and was friendly and did a very nice job. He made a few jokes and was quick but very good. I had powder dip done - second time only - but I liked the job he did much better than the last place I went to. My daughter got a full set and honestly, the nail tech, a young woman, was pretty rude. She didn't speak to either my daughter or I any more than she had to. She got up repeatedly during my daughter's manicure to help other clients... I would go see Timmy again but I would walk out if I had to be helped by the tall young woman who did my daughter's nails today. The store itself wasn't as clean as other nail places I've visited and there was an odd odor when we walked in - sort of a sewer smell? We both noticed it right away. I'd be choosy of which nail tech to see here. Powder was $40. read more

They do a good job. The women are so nice. However, the man at the front desk is rude. I was having him do my nails and every time some one called he was so nice to them on the phone but was rude when he hung up with them. At the end of my session he made sure to tell me next maybe I should make an appointment. A few weeks later, I stop by to get a fill in and I noticed right away they were busy so I said to him, I come back later or better yet I'll make an appointment and he told me. Yes, like I said last time you were here. Make an appointment before you come. I was so embarrassed. I told him. I was at the post office and I just decided to stop by and see if you were busy. He repeated, loudly. Make an appointment. I will not be returning. I'll make an appointment at Venice Nails. BTW, I seen him triple book the ladies who work there for the same time. read more

I was really excited about trying Megan Nails after a local girl with really pretty nails recommended them. I booked an appointment over the phone. Note: they inconveniently do not have online booking features. I selected a style that was a new age spin on French, being my first time there I figured I would try a fairly simple style . For an evening appt, the tech was very rushed which showed in her work. (See picture). I had seen the tech beside her (Hannah- I would later find out her name) do a very beautiful design on an admittedly "difficult" client, who was very picky but had no idea what she wanted. (She later gossiped about that client to the next girl in her chair.) Never the less, I resolved that she would do my nails next time as designs was what I was looking for. I came to the salon to book my second time and couldn't remember the face of the tech I was looking for. Hannah greeted me at the door and I told her after some confusion that she was indeed who I was trying to book. She seemed very agitated and impatient at my lack of knowledge of the techs and said "I've never done nails for you," "Who's your friend," "Why you want to book me?"I tried to explain that I liked her work to which she lost patience and walked away to tend back to her client, leaving me standing at the welcome station. Very rude. I waited for a younger lady to come out from the back and asked if she would help me book the appointment to which Hannah continued to rebuttal and speak in their foreign tongue. A bit frustrated, I asked "Is there an issue?" and "If she doesn't want to do my nails I will just book with the guy ( Tim, I still didn't know names at the point). The lady now helping me assured that everything was okay and that she was just trying to be "friendly" wondering if I knew Hannah's work off of Instagram. Funny way of being friendly. I would hate to see her enemies. Lol. Skip to next visit, went fairly smooth but I felt like Hannah was making comments about me as Tim was doing my nails. (Their stations are right next to each other at the front.) I let it slide and chucked it up to paranoia. Surely she was not mad about our previous incident where SHE was blatantly rude to ME. Skip to today, Tim is almost finishing up my nails and I can hear Hannah starting up again. She proceeds to gossip to her client about the girl that always wants designs and different colors and "today she asked for marble, " she gossiped. She continues to tell the client that the girl asked her "what's her problem?" and continues on. It's obvious that "that girl" is me as the client questions "Her?" and proceeds to turn straight to me. Now this is the final straw. Hannah is completely rude and unprofessional and just plain tacky. It's plainly unacceptable. I informed Tim of the misconduct to which he said something to her in their language-- her response---- "it's none of her business." Needless to say after three attempts, I won't be back. Horrible customer service. Subpar designs. Overbooked services. Listen to the other reviews. read more

rude customer service, over priced length short charged for long was not worth the price

I've come to Megan nails a few times and usually have an alright experience. It is a common issue for them to not listen when I ask them to cut my nails shorter, or do the shape I want. But I usually don't mind and can just make the small changes when I get home. But today really upset me. I came in with a photo of the nails I wanted and was really excited about them. When I sat down she asked the length I wanted and I said short when she trimmed them I asked her to cut them shorter but she didn't and assured me that they would be short when she was done filing them at the end. After she was done filing I asked her to please make the shape a little more round and she responded with "the photo has pointy nails". When it came time to add on the little red heart she started doing an entirely different design when I asked for just one heart instead near my cuticle because that would be an easier design she still did her own design. I felt so frustrated and didn't want to keep complaining so I didn't say anything after trying to say something multiple times during the entire process and I felt like I wasn't being listened to so I gave up. I paid $55 for nails that I did not want. Now I'm going to go home and try and file them down myself. Your nails don't look all that bad. They just simply aren't when I asked for and the tech didn't understand that the customer is always right. If the design I brought in when I showed her the photo was too complicated or she couldn't do it she should've said it up front and I would've picked something else. I am really picky about my nails and like them to look a certain way and this is just not what I wanted at all. And I feel most frustrated by the fact that I think I made my request very clear and the tech did not listen. I'm going to upload the Pinterest photo of the nails I asked for and showed the tech along side what I got. read more

Timmy did the best nails I've ever had done! I searched all of Yelp for the best reviews and pictures and Megan's had the best! I showed Timmy a picture and he did exactly like I asked. He also does a different dip powder technique where he doesn't dip your nails over and over, he takes a brush and applies it that way for a smooth finish! The last place I went , I left with uneven nails and not a smooth finish. Never going anywhere else! read more

I've lived in the area for 12 years. I've come to Megan Nails for the past 4 years for nail service. I always had a very nice experience until about 6 months ago. All of a sudden I would arrive for my appointments and had to wait another 30mins to an hour for service. Hannah (who had been my nail tech) became very rude when I would come in for service, as if I was bothering her. She began to rush each of my appointments by saying "Oh I have to leave at such and such time". Why did you agree to an appointment at this time if it didn't fit your schedule? Then if my polish chipped or I realized that one of my nails were filed cropped within a day or two and I returned for the problem to be fixed (after paying $45+) the attitude about fixing the problem was HORRIBLE!!! Tim, I believe that's his name, has a very smart mouth when you ask a question, as if you're the nail tech and should know the answer. Oh and don't you dare have a preference of nail tech, that's a problem for some reason. The customer service here became horrible. I'm ALWAYS very respectful because I want the same in return. Needless to say I've found me a new nail tech and he is AMAZING!!! Customer Service is his first priority!!! If I'm not happy, he is more than willing to fix the issue WITH A SMILE!!!!! I would not recommend anyone to Megan Nails, but if you do decide to go ask for Lynn, she does a great job and she's super sweet. GOOD LUCK read more

Very unprofessional owner and not willing to provide even partial refund when requested for an unsatisfactory job. They speak about you to each other in non-English which is rude and also unprofessional. I have been to Megan Nails every 3-4 weeks for the past six months as it is convenient, and I wanted to give them business as a small town salon. I've also gone at other times in the last several years. I had powder dipped nails done repeatedly over the six months which the designs were pretty. However, over this time my nails were filed so thin that they hurt for at least a day after. The owner told me I could have any flipped up nails fixed anytime within 3 weeks so I have done so. I also gave my nails a two week break to heal in early December. My last set was on December 16, and I had dip powder applied again. Within one week, one nail flipped up. I went in the next day to have it redone. The next day, another nail flipped up. I AM careful with my nails and did not hit them on anything that would cause this to happen. When I went in on December 29 for the second nail to be fixed, they were very busy, which I understand. The owner asked if I wanted to wait about 45 minutes or come back the next day. I told him I would come back the next day to which he smirked, which was very unprofessional. When I returned on December 30, I had the dip nails removed. I no longer want to have my nails fixed every few days and the rudeness of the owner is unacceptable. I told the owner's wife and then the owner that I would like a refund, at least a partial refund because the dip didn't last even two weeks, and I don't have the time to keep going in for repairs. I also told the owner that I thought his smirking at me was very unprofessional to which he laughed at me. He offered to give me a gift card but I will never return to this business again. (Why would I??) He refused to give me even a partial refund and continued to minimize my concerns, so I left with no resolution. read more

I was referred here by a client of theirs when I liked her nail design. I came here and got the worst service I have ever experienced in my 20+years of getting my nails done. The picture I showed is not what I ended up getting- and all they kept saying was it can't be exact which I get but this was not even close by design or color. They told me due to the design I had to get dip which this would be my first time getting. I had to wait and see three different ppl to finally get my nails done. I left there after having my nails drilled non stop- with sore nail beds. My nails hurt for four days straight with the dip on them. (I've had acrylic's in the past and this was not the same- nor was it normal). After day three my polish chipped. I messaged the business this morning to ask what there policy is for not liking nails/ chipped nails and they told me to come back and fix it. I walked in and explained how my nails were hurting and the guy laughed at me and said I didn't get used to them yet? I said no I need my nails to function. They sat me down and I waited for a nail tech to then start drilling my nails again- which I told her hurt and my nails felt sore. She continued anyway. Instead of letting my nails soak she wrapped them in foil and acetone and then continued to drill my nails multiple times. After four times of trying to get the dip off- about 4-5 layers of my nail bed was gone. I asked them if they would charge me to put some gel polish on them. She informed me it would be 10$ for taking the dip off- I told her that's not what the message said on fb about fixing my nails- she then said okay then asked the same gentleman who laughed at me about if he would charge me for gel polish and he said yeah he would charge me $23. I immediately said no thank you. After 15 minutes he came back and said he would "pay for me" to get gel polish. Throughout this experience the nail tech had her AirPods in and had multiple conversations, I had to ask her to smooth out my nail because she forgot to do one, had to ask her to apply more nail polish because I could see spots on it, and then she didn't file my nails to make sure there were no rough patches. When I went to leave there was no apology, no hope you come back, no are you happy with ur nails, no have a good day. I feel bad that other people come here and probably think this is what "great service" is but I assure you it is not. I normally do not write reviews and I made sure to take the time to write one. I will not refer anyone here and I will never take my business here again. I will gladly be going back to my nail spa in Raleigh. read more

I've been here a few times. Just recently I came with 5 friends for a pedicure. We called ahead and made reservations. Although we were sat in chairs right away, they didn't have enough tech's to do all 5 of us at one time. This meant that a few people sat there with their feet in water for a long time. Very disappointing. That said, our nails looked great in the end and the prices aren't bad. Just a warning that making a reservation means nothing. read more
