DO NOT TAKE THIS BUS if you have to be anywhere by a specific time... My daughter had a 10:00 bus this morning from Memphis to Dallas. It left at 10:30 ... (okay, not so bad). 2 1/2 hours later they got to Little Rock and the bus driver announces that he is headed BACK TO MEMPHIS because there were 2 passengers that didn't make it to the bus stop on time!!! They got there at 11:00 for a 10:00 trip and he was GOING BACK to get them!!! He seriously turned the bus around! He has been sitting in Memphis now for over an hour EATING! So, her bus that was supposed to be in by 6:00 for an 8:00 meeting that she had in Dallas will now arrive some time around midnight! And the unbelievable thing??? Megabus did not understand WHY I was so mad when I called!!! The bus driver told them that they couldn't complain or they would have to get off! WORST customer service ever!!! WHO turns a bus around (carrying over 50 passengers) after driving for 2 1/2 hours to pick up 2 customers who were an hour late??? And Megabus is NOT willing to refund the money! read more

Our first trip on Megabus, left from Grand Prairie to Atlanta and back. Buses were clean, only one major delay in Memphis coming home, however they texted me to tell me about the delay. For long trips, take an extra seat cushion. There are no terminals so be prepared to stand outside, so take an umbrella. Take a blanket, it's cold on the bus no matter the temp outside. When they say 50 lb bag limit, they mean it, I had to take 5 lbs out and put in my husbands bag. There was only one organized stop, Memphis to Atlanta, I think that is because the attendant handled it that way, otherwise just get in line and be prepared for people to jump in front of you. I had a credit for a cancelled ticket. But when I went to re-book for another date the site would not honor the credit. I called the customer service and they said that when cancelling you have to do the re-booking at the same time. It never says on the site that it has to be done right away or loose the credit. POOR SERVICE. Unless you missed the bus and didn't do a same day reschedule. Then you just lose that money. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. They can't tell you anything, can't figure out where the bus is, can't give you a refund etc. read more

round trip for 2 from Dallas to San Antonio for 80 cents?!! yes, I said 80 cents! yes please! the bus was clean, seats were soft, WiFi, electrical outlets at every seat so we could keep our phones charging and my teenager could use her hair straightener :) the upper level was one big sunroof - very cool. there was a clean bathroom. you could keep your bags with you (we just packed reasonable sized bags, but saw others with larger suitcases loading them below the seating area). the only negative about the bus ride was the temperature on the buses is set at 68 freezing cold degrees and there is nothing you can do about it. will bring a blanket next time. would definitely take the MegaBus again - it saved me money and allowed me to kick back and enjoy the ride with my daughter, rather than driving a car. read more

A convenient bus service for a good price. I rode Megabus from Dallas to Austin. I'd give the bus a B+ for comfort. Seats could be a touch wider. Main issue was the lights for the seating did not work in the bus at all. I checked several before picking my seat. Made working on an evening trip difficult. Wifi was consistent and the power outlets are a very nice feature. Kept my laptop charged the whole way! Nice to have a view from the upper level. The bathroom was clean. The bus left on time, but arrived almost an hour late, but the winter weather likely delayed things, so I won't fault the driver for going a more reasonable speed. But customer service and the station manager both said the buses were running on schedule all day. If we were going to be late, the driver also should have announced something when it was clear we wouldn't make the schedule, but nothing done. My main beef was customer service told me I could buy the tickets at the station for the same price as online. THIS IS A LIE. The station agent said they keep telling people this and he keeps correcting them. He was nice about it. He gave me the number said I could call for a mere $3 service charge or go find a wireless signal and buy online. Why they do this is beyond me. I could buy the ticket for $13 online or pay $35 (or maybe $45) in cash in person. Really makes no sense. Especially since you will be put on stand-by, meaning you might not get on the bus you want. I understand they want advance booking for operations, but a tripling or quadrupling of the price? The station knew how many seats were available (unlike the call-in number which did not). If you want me to reserve a ticket in advance, fine, but let me pay you directly when I get there to confirm my spot. Other long-range bus services I've used have a same-price policy. At least MB has a minimal change fee in case you can't get to the station in time for your bus. read more

Pleasant, on time, cheap and much nicer than having to drive and put extra miles on your own vehicle. Took St. Louis route to Chicago. Driver was funny and very specific about making sure we passengers knew to be back on board after the 30 minute rest stop, to insure "on time" arrival to destination. Bring a small pillow and warm clothing or blanket, kick back ,relax ,read,nap. Boarding is first come first serve. Casual easy transportation. Tip your driver a couple bucks, they also help load the luggage and deserve a small monetary "thank you". read more

I have enjoyed riding the Megabus from the first time I was informed about the service, all of the drivers are always professional , when I ride the bus to go see my children and grandchildren (I live in Tn, they live in San Angelo, Tx), they are always willing to accommodate me if I have a question, I truly love your staff, even when I had to speak to someone on the phone, they were pleasant...but today(03/29/2019), it was an even more awesome experience, the driver was so pleasant, so full of genuine spirit.. that I wanted to let her employer know just how she was an example of a true, caring person and showed concern of her passengers. I observed her talking to someone who had missed their bus ahead of the bus that I was boarding, and she was encouraging to that person, it didn't stop there, when she made the announcement about the trip, it made me feel like we were being driven by family! My update is regarding the pricing. Unfortunately, it is usually $25 each way nowadays compared to the $1-$7 I used to pay :( This could be because people rush to buy the cheaper fares as soon as their posted, and I assume a lot of these people don't end up traveling on those dates (they buy the cheap fares to have the tickets just in case they need them). I experienced the worst driver for Megabus ever last night. When he pulled up and got off to help load the luggage, he was being very rude to everybody. He was screaming at everybody and he was being absolutely unprofessional. My son had his PlayStation console in his luggage so I asked the bus driver (Richard Wade) to be careful with loading it. He screamed at me and told me that there couldn't be anything fragile in the bag. He then took the luggage and threw it on the ground, after I just said that it was something fragile in the bag. When I asked him why would he throw the bag on the ground when I just mentioned that something in the bag could be broken he began to yell at me and demanded that I take the item out of the bag. I took it out and put it in the carry on my son was carrying. He did all of this while my 12 year old son was standing there saying he hoped that his gaming system was broken since the driver threw the bag on the ground. After my son and my mom got onto the bus, I asked him his name and he walked all the way in my face and yelled it out. He was literally so close in my face that I could feel his breath. And when I asked him why was he so close in my face, he said that he wanted to make sure that I heard him. We will definitely not use Megabus in the future. I never experienced this rudeness and unprofessionalism with Greyhound. I guess this is what happens when you try to say money. read more

I saw the megabus on the freeway...it immediately caught my attention. After checking out the reviews I was convinced some friends and I should try it. To my utter disappointment and disgust, an old Coach bus pulled up! It smelled like pee and the thought of wi-fi was a joke! Great prices even the day before. I went from Houston and back for $37 round trip and booked it the day before. No real parking in Grand Prairie and I parked at CVS. I took the Dallas bus last time and there is a lot of parking for $3 a day! The bus driver missed the exit to the HWY because "she was daydreaming and did not know the way back to the HWY and asked for directions over the intercom. She said she couldn't go the other way because she was on a one way street!" Haha She even came back on the intercom to tell us what she was daydreaming about...she said she was thinking of what she woud do when she left Texas. Of course we are going to Houston, Tx. She was serious. Then she stopped to Pee halfway there (this is only a 4 hour trip) and she said "don't form a line to the bathroom because this stop is for ME." I guess you can't pick your drivers but it is cheap and you get there almost always on time. If you don't want to sit by anyone (two seats on each side) take an early or late time. Wear sweats, bring a pillow, Ipod or Pad (outlets available) and a container of wine and you'll enjoy the ride!! Gotta love a road trip :) read more

Never again will I travel with these people, there services are great until the inevitable happens. My truck got stolen days after I made my reservation, and a day before it was time for me to depart. These people did not want to work with me on relocating my departure because I am now unable to get to the original departing location, but there is one that I can catch the city bus to downtown dallas. It's obvious that these people don't give a flying f about keeping their customers happy. It's all about the money. I tried to see if I could even reschedule for the following day, but they told me in order for me to do that, then I had to pay for another reservation and they were keeping the original 86 dollars that I've already paid because they have a no refund policy. I read the terms and conditions before I purchased my reservation, but heck, I didn't know that my vehicle was going to come up missing afterwards. They have, no respect for our money, as long as they're getting theirs. If I would have called 24 hours prior to the time I was suppose to leave, they would have worked with me, I called them 23 hours prior to my departure date and still no, assistance. Mega Bus, you guys sick in a major way. Next time, I'll just pay the extra to Greyhound. read more

So the 1st time I heard of the megabus was when my cousin's bf came from Mexico to Dallas and was going to Houston from here. His bus was 4 hours delay and was worried he missed his bus even thou we got there 30 minutes early. No one was able to help us not even customer service. Finally someone was waiting for the bus too and they said it hasn't come. That's a huge delay but we just let it go. Then today my friend left Dallas to go back to Chicago. The driver kept stopping and they were very behind time scheduled. Then the driver stops for a 15 minute break and the bus LEAVES him behind! So now he calls customer service and tells them what happened and they claimed the bus stopped for 22 minutes before the driver left. My 1st thought was how can they be sure about that but not keep track of the bus location? Very upset because he doesn't have proof of how long he was at the store to get some food so he asks about his luggage. They said they can't hold it and will just be put in 'lost and found'. So basically his stuff could get stolen. Now he has to buy another ticket from Missouri to Chicago. I honestly do not recommend this bus. He ended up paying the same amount as an airplane ticket. He could of just flew. I'm going to tell everyone about my experience and so are the people involved in both these incidents. If you're someone who cares about customer service then this bus is definitely not for you. read more

TRIP-- From Memphis, Tennessee to Dallas, TX DATE-AUGUST 12, 2012 This was our second trip on Mega bus and I must say it was the best... Hats off to bus drivers LISA and JESSICA!! Lisa IMMEDIATELY took control of the crowd BEFORE it became an issue and made the boarding in Memphis a smooth transition....there was NO pushing or yelling at the driver by other passengers (such as it was on our first trip)...Lisa was very professional and fair in dealing with crowd control.. I really appreciated how she was able to relive a senior citizen's fear and concerns that this senior would not be trampled on as passengers attempted to board the bus..... Jessica and Lisa both were very safety conscientious of their passengers and of the driving laws.... the bus arrived on time in Memphis and we made it to Dallas on time.... So disappointed in the customer service!!!!! I bought a ticket from Grand Prairie, TX to Houston , TX for $50. I received an email confirmation and read it thoroughly so I knew what to expect and where to park. It clearly stated at this location there was free overnight parking for 7 days on a round trip ticket. When I arrived 30 minutes early at this location I went to the front desk and the gentleman told me that their free parking lot was closed and it has been for 3 weeks. He said they have told customer service to make note of that in the emails to customers leaving from that location. I was only going to be Gina two nights and he said if I parked there they would tow my car. I continued to explain my email confirmation clearly stated there would be free parking. At this point the bus leaves in 15 minutes and I lived 30 minutes away. I asked if there were any parking garages nearby to park in and he said no. The best advice he gave was to go to the downtown dallas bus stop and park in a garage down there and catch the bus at that stop. I had no other choice or I'd miss the bus. So I drove an additional 25 miles to he next stop and was hurrying to find parking so I wouldn't miss the bus!! After circling around looking I parked in the closest spot I could find... I only had 10 minutes before the bus would leave me. It ended up being $66 for two nights in this parking garage. I emailed customer service a few times about my experience and haven't even gotten a response and it's been over a week!! At least an apology of some sort or reimbursement for parking. Nothing. SO DISAPPOINTED in their service. Misleading information and even after clearly giving false information there was no remorse for the customer. Unbelievable. read more
