I attempted multiple times to resolve my concerns directly with the business and requested that the issues and their response be provided in writing. I was not satisfied with how the situation was handled, so I ultimately filed complaints with the appropriate state agencies for review. I'm sharing my experience so other customers can make an informed decision and understand that I was unable to resolve my concerns directly with the business.

I took my RAV4 to Global Car Care because Slip Indicator Light was staying on ...traction control…read moreproblem. First, they said "rear plug" of transmission had come out and needed to replaced. Also, the battery was bad and needed to be replaced. The battery recovered overnight after I asked for my battery back to return since it was only 12 months of the 36 month of Interstate's warranty. Manager Jay told me a car's alternator does not charge the battery. Then at the end of the next day Global Car Care called to say after the test drive it was not shifting properly so needed to replace the Steering Rack and Tie Rods of a cost of $2,069.21. I declined and picked up the car, no improvement in problem. - cost of $456.31 I then took the car to Town Toyota, they quickly identified the problem as a loose steering rack bolt that needed to be tightened. They tightened the bolt and all other cradle bolts, reset all sensors, and front wheel alignment. The total cost for Town Toyota service department to resolve problem and improve drivability in a half day was $347.10.

As promised, I was contacted that afternoon. Bent pushrods, probably a timing chain failure. We agreed on a engine replacement. Expected time for the new engine was 5 days; they had it in 3. Installation and checkout took about a week and a half. They were very thorough and kept me informed along the way. My service rep, Doug, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience for an out-of-towner.

They told me everything they completed on my vehicle (including tire rotation). I immediately noticed my tire pressures were not within specification, and they read the exact same pressures prior to bringing the vehicle in. This was evidence that my tire rotation was not completed, nor was my vehicle even thoroughly inspected, as stated in my discharge paperwork. Their technician also overfilled my oil by 1 Quart, which can damage the motor. They did not bother to call my warranty company for the repairs needing done on my thermostat. The repair would have in fact been covered under warranty & could have saved me money out of pocket. Instead, David in Subaru Service Dept. brushed it off like he did not want to deal with the warranty company and charged me out of pocket. I left the dealership with my vehicle, and about a week into driving noticed my vehicle is STILL experiencing the same issues with the thermostat & also rough idling. When I called to speak with them, I was made to feel like I was in the wrong for noticing these major discrepancies. I brought my vehicle in for a second opinion from a different maintenance shop, and they diagnosed/fixed my issues right away. They also found the discrepancies with my vehicle listed above. Eric, the manager of Cascade Subaru Service, wrote me a check that covered only the diagnostic and thermostat repair. I appreciate the gesture, but based on my experience that is not satisfactory to me & I will never go back. I do not trust them after this experience. This has me concerned for other's safety, costly vehicle repairs, as this dealership is not trustworthy.
