I had a very frustrating experience with Eastmont Body Shop…read more The initial estimate process was fast and easy, and I was told the repair would take approximately two weeks. I dropped my car off on August 3. My insurance initially authorized only three days for a rental car. Eastmont told me this was standard and that the rental authorization would be extended as needed. After three days, I began calling to make sure that had been taken care of. No one answered the phone or returned my messages. After an entire week without a response, I actually made the 65-mile drive to the shop because I was beginning to wonder if something had happened or if they were even open. They were. There was someone sitting in the office. They simply had not answered or returned my calls. At the two-week mark--the time I had originally been told my car would be finished--I called for an update. Again, it took three days to get a response. I was then told the car should be ready either Friday or the following Monday. Friday came and went with no call. Monday came and went with no call. At the four-week mark, I finally received a call saying the car would be ready Tuesday. I rearranged my schedule to make the 65-mile trip to pick it up, only to be told Tuesday morning that it would not be ready until the following day. We finally picked up the car four weeks and five days after dropping it off for what was originally estimated to be a two-week repair. Unfortunately, that still wasn't the end of it. On the drive home, I heard a ticking noise and pulled over to investigate. I discovered that molding on the driver's side had not been properly reinstalled. That meant yet another 65-mile trip each way to have the shop correct it. As of today, I believe the repair is finally complete. The actual bodywork itself was acceptable. My complaint is with the extraordinary lack of communication, repeated missed completion dates, and the amount of time the shop kept my vehicle. Delays can happen--I understand that. What is unacceptable is leaving a customer without updates, failing to return calls for days at a time, and telling a customer a vehicle will be ready when it isn't. A two-week repair became nearly five weeks, involved multiple unnecessary 130-mile round trips, and still required a return visit because part of the car had not been properly reassembled. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Eastmont Body Shop.

Of the three quotes, Leonard Evans was the most affordable, and they provided an estimate that clearly showed, line for line, that the work they were going to do would be the same as that of the other body shops. It also helped that my husband had used them for work on his truck and was very happy with their work. To sum it up, they did a fantastic job.
