Megan is fantastic. I had her do alterations on my dress after purchasing it as a sample dress. It had several rips in the lining that needed to be repaired, it needed to be hemmed, have straps added, have a bustle added and be taken in several inches. The dress was pretty complicated with multiple layers, and she essentially had to take the whole top apart and put it back together again. She did a fantastic job and was completely professional. She clearly knows what she's doing with a dress, as she noticed several things about the construction and design of the dress that I hadn't noticed and made it look even better. She also made sure to check all the small details - that the hem length was perfect with my shoes, and the bustle didn't drag. Her price is also very reasonable. She quoted me everything up front and only had a slight change at the end because of an extra piece that needed to be taken in, which I completely expected. Meghan is absolutely amazing! My husband and I decided to elope and I needed a beautiful simple wedding dress within a week. I looked at all these boutiques, david's bridal's, you name it and no luck. I told a friend of mine my situation and she recommended I called Meghan. By this time I only had 2 1/2 days before I had to hop on a plane to get married. I called her and told her my situation and we had a consultation over the phone and gave her my measurments. I met with her the next day to look at the fabric and more measurements. She listened to what I wanted and made some great suggestions for my body type. I went to Megan for my wedding dress alteration and couldn't have imagined a more positive experience. My dress was absolutely giant on me (she had to take in 3.5in on each side!) and was made for someone with DD cups when I'm barely a B. It is also a complicated design with three layers of fabric on the skirt and gathered fabric and tulle up top and lots of delicate lace features. None of this fazed Megan who dove into the project with the enthusiasm and critical eye of a true artist. I looked forward to each fitting because Megan made me feel so welcome and comfortable in her home studio. Her pricing was more than reasonable for the amount of time she put into the alteration and for the magic she worked on my over-sized dress. (I should mention that the first seamstress I went to said she couldn't alter the dress without completely changing the style and even then she didn't think it would fit me right in the bust.) In the end, my dress was everything I'd hoped it would be because Megan really took the time to make every adjustment necessary so that it fit me perfectly. Plus, she made the prettiest bustle! I would highly recommend Megan for wedding dress alterations or even for designing your dress from scratch. Meghan was a dream come true. My wedding dress began with a drawing of what I expressed I wanted. From there it blossomed into this sweet collaboration. Meghan always listened to what I wanted, but also offered her expert opinions. For example, she suggested a silk charmeuse for the bottom so that it had movement and swing. I wouldn't have thought of that. It was also Meghan's idea that the lace overlay I wanted over my red dress be a kind of jacket that I could take off for the reception. Poof, one dress became two different looks, each beautiful and compelling. A very happy creative moment was when we needed something to hold the shoulders up on the jacket, and I asked if we could use lace, and when Meghan held it up to my back, it formed a lace heart. We were both so excited. My dress was just so beautiful, way better than I imagined. And Meghan was on time, responsible, and just easy going and fun to work with. My wedding was in a botanical garden, and the hem of my dress got pretty ruined after the party. Meghan fixed for me for free, and sent it to my new home. I just can't recommend Meghan highly enough. Plus the whole dress from start to finish ended up costing less than my husband's suit. She's a dream come true. read more
