This is one of our go to place for consistently good Indonesian Singaporean fusion dishes. We've been coming here since 2018 and thankfully they survived Covid-19, but somehow much quieter afterwards. The good news is the food is still dope. They also serve Vietnamese fusion which is also good. Service can be slow at times as they're usually a bit understaffed but always friendly and chill. The place is cozy with a few small tables and bar seating so best for smaller groups. Our favorites here are the Hainan Chicken Rice (better than Savoy Kitchen IMHO) which resembles the world famous Tian Tian in Singapore Maxwell Food Centre, the Mad for Garlic Noodle, and the Nasi Goreng which is Indonesian fried rice topped with fried egg. Other dishes we like are the bean sprouts with garlic, tofu family style, mee goreng, and the MG burger. Highly recommended.

Couple blocks away from our place so we gave it a short. Went during lunch time and surprisingly we were the only customers. We were seated quickly and food came out fast. Clean atmosphere so definitely five stars! Food was great too, and initially I didn't think it was going to be enough, but ended up taking some Togo! If you're undecided, I highly recommend you choose what I posted. Savory and flavorful. Only thing is I did want to try Minh's pho, but apparently the chef retired and took the recipe with him. Unfortunate! Overall I give it five stars and highly recommend.

Excellent Indonesian/Malaysian cuisine restaurant that has exceptional Hainanese chicken rice and also an assortment of noodle and rice dishes as well as burgers. Service is excellent and also very prompt. The interior atmosphere is also very cool with posters of rappers (Beastie Boys and Run DMC) as well as other 90s cultural icons. Check it out if you are in Palms! It also used to be a donut shop ten years or so ago.

these dishes are amazing for splitting so you can try more items off the menu. The bo luc lac was well seasoned and slightly sweet, but the real star was the char kway teow! The flat noodles were the perfect qq texture and had great crunch from the vegetables mixed through. The seating is on the smaller side, with some additional room at the bar. Service was very quick because it wasn't busy that night!

Pork belly with a spoon full of pork the size of peppercorns and one egg. A total scam!!

I just got scammed. Ordered the expensive pork belly and they gave me tiny scraps as big as pepper corns in an egg?! Absolutely a rip off.

I enjoy and never stray from their Lu Rou Fan but was enticed to try the famous burger and finally Postmated it. Imagine spending $20 for burnt food. I don't mind a char but this was rock hard and impossible to eat. Needless to say, the taste of aioli and garlic relish did not come through because of it.

4.5 stars! We ordered the Char kway teow and the mee goreng. Both were delicious and had a yummy savory stir fry taste. I appreciated that they cooked each dish to order so I could add filet mignon to the Char kway teow. The only feedback was the dishes were on the salty side. That said, I'd eat there again Service was great and we appreciated their beer and wine selection.

I ordered the organic chicken pho and it wasn't the best pho ever, but it hits if you're in West LA and can't get to the 626 area. The waitress was also very attentive to us.

Came here with a friend for lunch and we both enjoyed the food. The plaza had its own parking lot so it was very convenient. We came around 1 on a Friday and there were plenty of seats. We were helped and seated immediately. They had a variety of south asian cuisine. I got the Char Kway Teao and my friend got the Hainan Chicken. Both dishes were pretty solid and prices were far.

Really unprofessional that I showed up during poster business hours, only to discover they're closed, after I already paid for parking.

Ask the Community - Mee & Greet

Hi Can the basic goreng be made vegetarian (without any fish sauce or powder)?

I am sure if you ask they can accommodate.

    Do they have vegan options?

Yes. There were a few you can also ask the waitress

I love chinese food, but I can't find a good one that delivers in west la. Any suggestions?

GuYi delivers. I think Northern Cafe may deliver as well - try the different delivery apps (Postmates, Uber Eats, Eat 24, Yelp, etc).

Update: Little Sister reached out and made things right, so I want to reflect that here…read more We planned a family event and had our order cancelled two hours before with no warning, which left us scrambling. It was frustrating, especially as long-time loyal customers. But to their credit, Megan and the team followed up, addressed our concerns sincerely, and handled it with real care. They never asked us to update our review so they genuinely accepted their mistake and now I feel bad lol. That kind of accountability goes a long way. We've always loved the food and service here, and honestly this experience reminded us why we kept coming back in the first place.

Nice ambiance, but that's about it…read more Food was mediocre and bland. Service was worse. As a Latino party of 4, we were treated noticeably differently than the two Caucasian women seated next to us. Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked on them often, while we were ignored, given attitude, and had to flag her down just to order. We ended up getting drinks and appetizers only and left to go somewhere we actually felt welcomed. Didn't catch the server's name she never introduced herself, and I was too upset to check the receipt. The host, however, was much nicer. We even told her wish you were our server on the way out! She said of no was there a problem.... We didn't want to make a big deal and walked away while my father in law did tell her that server had a stick up her you know what... she quickly said yes I know, I'm so Sorry! So we know for a fact it wasn't the first time! Really disappointing experience. Do better, Little Sister.

Pho Show in Culver City is officially on our repeat list…read more We ordered the brisket pho with added vegetables and it was absolutely amazing. The broth was rich, deeply flavorful, and so perfectly balanced that it didn't need a single sauce added. The brisket was incredibly tender. Truly a pleasure to eat. We added carrots, broccoli, and bok choy, and the bok choy was cooked to perfection. The noodle-to-broth ratio was just right. We also ordered the pork egg rolls. There were three in the order and my boyfriend and I literally fought over the last one. That should tell you everything. Crispy, flavorful, perfect. The Arnold Palmers were so good we both refilled. Twice. The ambience satisfies everyone's needs. There's great music playing, the space is lively, open, and beautifully designed, and it's perfect for a first date or a decades long relationship. There's great seating inside with plenty of options, including accessible table seating for guests who need it. They also have an outdoor enclosed patio that is heated, making it comfortable year-round. Beer and wine are available, which rounds out the experience nicely. Service was fantastic. Stephanie is the best. She gave us great pro tips for what to order next time, which we absolutely plan to do. Highly recommend dining in for the full experience. I am obsessed with a good fried tofu, and therefore was met with disappointment. Soggy, bland,…read morecold, and gushing with greasy oil. What happened to the salt and pepper? I legitimately could only taste oil, and it left a good grease film that coats my mouth even still as I type. Additionally, I asked for it to be as spicy as spicy can be. Fresh chilis or something, but alas their sriracha packets and chili oil were all they had, and did not bring the heat. Sincerely wondering how some reviews say the tofu was "the best they've ever had" because I'm sitting firm on the other end of the scale. Made quickly though, so that's nice.
