If I could give less than one star I would. I purchased a porch lift from these people. My porch needed to be modified to work with the lift. MedMobility subcontracted that out. After some wait due to jobs booked prior to mine (totally understandable) my porch was modified and within a week of the construction finishing, the porch lift was installed. It doesn't quite meet the ground which has created a trip hazard for me as my feet tend to drag as I walk. I informed MedMobility of the issue and even though my lift was installed on August 17, 2021 .... here it is Sept. 2 2021 and I still have not been able to leave my house! Jeff sounded "real concerned" when I spoke with him, but the lack of action on this has me thinking that since they have their money, they see no reason to expend any effort in resolving this issue. So I am out just over $11,000.00 and pretty much have nothing to show for it except a huge metal contraption stuck onto the front of my porch that is of NO USE to me. I have no idea how serviceable the actual lift is since I am afraid to use it. When it was installed the installer had me test it out, which was when I discovered the trip hazard. The one comment I was given was that it was only an inch and a walker with 8 inch wheels would have no problem .... Yeah, great; the walker will have no problem with the gap, but unfortunately my feet will. Seemed to me to be a pretty cavalier attitude when dealing with the handicapped. Jeff has still not gotten back to me after telling me he needed to speak to the installer about this, and I am not holding my breath. Haven't received a phone call or an email update of any kind. I am discouraged and depressed, but hoping this negative review will prevent others from getting the same treatment.
Due to the ground freeze coming early last fall (preventing cement work) I had to postpone this project and I have been trapped inside my house for 15 months .... totally trapped, no going outside of ANY kind. This may have some bearing on my negative review as my patience level is quite low and the lack of follow up has me feeling disrespected and afraid that I will spend another year trapped in my house while waiting for people to "get around to" resolving this issue. The least they could do is tell me that they are unable to resolve this problem so I can take action and elsewhere to look for resolutions. This whole waiting around in limbo is annoying as heck. All the agencies etc. that I have contacted have told me that I must wait for a final decision from MedMobility that they will not be able to resolve this issue before I can pursue other options. read more
