LONG TIME since this fat boy was WOOOOOOOED by a chef like this. Usually only comes with a pair of expensive airplane tickets. Finished it off with honest to heaven gelato!!! We were so excited to finally try this place. We moved to alpine 8 weeks ago and drive by every day but now we regret ever stopping. Customer service was okay.. could be better, the cooks are miserably unhappy, and the food was awful. The steak was over cooked, dry, tough, flavorless, and 50% fat. The fettuccine was edible but the chicken was fatty. We are so disappointed, all the waitress had to say was "sorry". read more

Me and a friend came here for lunch. We ordered a gluten free pizza and a wedge salad. Our server was friendly but the food was just ok. I am a blue cheese dressing snob and their blue cheese dressing was not good. It was just a cheap dressing and no real blue cheese in it. The pizza was ok nothing special to brag about. We were driving through and so happy that we found Mediterraneo. We came in around 4pm and we're able to be seated right away. The in side ambiance is so quaint and intimate. The staff working was SO NICE! Very cheery and I really loved seeing how well they worked together to help each other. And can't forget the food. So good! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfect. The Mac and cheese was very creamy and I liked that nothing was overly salty. Serving sizes were ample, we both had left overs in which they boxed for us. Topped off the evening with a shared pumpkin cheesecake. If we're ever back in the area I would def come back. read more

We saw this place coming out of our car through the parking lot while going to alpine brewery... since we weren't feeling pizza the hubs wanted to eat here... OMG!!! Top tier little Italian spot!! Love the location on top of a hill and the food was DELICIOUS!! I had the gnocchi, my wife had the filet mignon. I cannot stress this enough, it was delicious. The waitress (assuming the daughter of the owner based on our conversation) was extremely nice and helpful, recommending dishes and engaging in conversation. One dish that she recommended was the whole brussel sprouts in garlic. It was a little tangy but very flavorful and paired well with the bread. Only downside was they were out of the crème brûlée when we ordered dessert and the trio came out without it. Also, I believe 1 or 2 more servers would be a sufficient staff. We did go on a Saturday night however and it was busy. The owner came by and asked how everything was tasting as well. Will definitely visit again for special events. read more

Went to Mediterraneo Sunday night, party of four. Quaint gem in Alpine with indoor/outdoor seating. Nice menu. Good variety of meal options, without going overboard, including daily specials. Dishes were really tasty, good portions (everyone took home a bit of something) and well presented. Complimentary bread basket (variety to choose from) and herb butter, so yummy. Two appetizers, two salads (definitely large enough to share), four entrees, four desserts, one cocktail, two coffees ran about $250. Very reasonable. Our server, Daisy, was exceptional! Very attentive but not hovering, answered all of our questions thoughtfully and just a very pleasant attitude. We dropped by here for a lunch meeting and I was very impressed by the service. The servers were friendly and made sure we got a nice patio table without direct sunlight. I had been eyeing their risotto and ordered that. It was so buttery and flavorful! It had a nice rich aroma and every mouthful was a delight! The quantity was great and I could carry some leftovers with me. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and had an amazing experience from beginning to end. The restaurant had a cute and calm ambiance and wasn't overly loud and busy. The service was amazing.. everyone was very sweet, welcoming and attentive which was highly appreciated. Drinks were very tasty and well made and the FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!! We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer, spinach ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese covered in mushroom sauce, beef lasagna and sausage/mushroom/olive pizza.. yum yum yum! Nice little place in Alpine. We ate there the other night. Since we're experiencing another Covid surge, we dined outside. Most everyone else did as well. First impression was the waitress who was very friendly. We got our menus pretty quickly. Since we had a hungry toddler we really wanted to give him something while we waited for food. We ordered right away, including an appetizer for him. The waitress must have had too many tables because it was difficult to locate her. She forgot utensils and napkins when we sat down. We still didn't have them when our apps came out. We asked again and again. Finally got them. All in all, The food was really amazing quality and taste. The wait staff is probably just overworked. On Mon. 8/12/24.. As soon as I walked in, I asked for a menu. The tall older waitress said "as soon as you sit down, I will bring you a menu. I said well I'm thirsty and I would like to order something to drink. She said .."Like I said, as soon as you sit down I will bring you a menu! I was standing at the bar waiting for my friends w/her kids. No one was there, except two people who already ordered. So.. I had ordered a hamburger. I did not like the Aioli sauce that was put on my burger. The nice younger blonde waitress was sweet enough to offer me a new bun. As I waited, the other older tall waitress (30's) w/long dark hair brought me the bun on a plate.. as she handed it to me she let go before I had a hold of it. The plate broke in small pieces on the floor. Half the toasted bun was on floor and she happened to grab the other half of bun before it landed on floor and handed it to me, and said "Here's your bun, picked up 2 pieces of the broken plate and very quickly walked off!" She didn't say, anything! She could have said "oh I'm so sorry, I will be right back to clean it up and I will get you another bun! She said NOTHING! As if it was my fault and she seemed annoyed! As soon as she walked away my friends small child walked straight over to all the broken small pieces and picked up a piece of the glass plate. We asked her to put it down before she gets hurt. It took at least 10 min. for her to have the younger waitress to come sweep up the rest! By the way.. the hamburger was way too salty! I couldn't eat it.. brought it home. My son n law tried it and the first thing he said was.. I can't eat it .. it's way too salty! Needless to say I won't be back! She was rude and bossy! read more

Walking in no one showed us to a table to cleaned it just told us to go a certain way, all the people in here were sitting on their fingers or something too. Waited 15 minutes just for some bread they probably got from the back of a grocery store. Finally after forever abby the duck came to take our order. I didn't know inflation hit that hard cause it was an arm and a leg for some from the box and jar pasta and sauce. Literally watered down pasta and cold mozzarella balls in my pasta. I grew up in Alpine and hadn't been to The Med in forever. My fiancé and I stopped in for dinner and drinks ... man, is the food delicious!! We had the sautéed spinach and burrata appetizer and the creamy salmon penne pasta. Soooo good, I've been craving it ever since. We sat at the bar .. the service was just ok. Lots of chit chat with the 'locals/regulars' and it took a while for silverware (we had to ask twice). But nice area for kids, indoor & outdoor seating. Very clever to use their outdoor seating to stay within the good graces of the health lords while staying open. I'm happy this place is in my community. The food... We started with a bruschetta. The bread was ordinary and not involved with a nice garlic flavor. The diced tomatoes were fresh but lacked any salt, oil or other enhancement. A few shaved parm slices on the top and let's call it a day. For main, I went with the Gamberoni Alla Diavola. The shrimp was extremely over cooked and dry. The risotto was advertised as "saffron" but lacked any flavor from that most magnificent stigma. The dish had great hopes and potential but fell flat. This place has been here from quite some time and I wish them success. Unfortunately, I found their food to be a disapointment and will not be a return customer. read more

When we were finished eating, we still wanted to hang out, so we went to their bar/lounge on the other side of the bar, and enjoyed a beer out on the deck while watching the sunset. I booked this restaurant, sight unseen, for my brother's surprise 50th birthday party. I live in Los Angeles so literally knew nothing about it except that the website looked cool, it looked kid friendly (we had a couple little ones with us), and Jessica Robertson, who handles their private events, was super easy to work with. Well- they EXCEEDED our expectations! Eliana was in charge of actually running our party- and she was outstanding. Between her and Jessica, we wanted for nothing! The food, service, ambiance, and vibe were top notch all the way around. I couldn't have asked for better. They went out of their way to make sure every guest had everything they needed and more and made us all feel so special!
