The ER here in Modesto is just, well...HORRID as in making my wife wait for 5 hours now and…read morecounting for a pain/cramping in her stomach like she's having a baby pain ! Well to be honest they were quick to take her in to be actually seen by the doctor and they did all their tests but they sent back out in the main waiting area while she's still in major pain and needs to run to the restroom every half hour and they couldn't give her a bed like she flipping needs when we got here now over 5 hours ago?! So ya I'm ranting but for her and this kind of disappearing act and not treating her promptly which by the way the main ER waiting room only had 4 people in there and the back had hardly anybody and this was on Sunday morning at 8am to start with and this situation reminds me of how in Bay Area back in the 70's and 80's of how bad it was then but the ER rooms were flooded with all kinds of people waiting unlike here that even 5+ hours later there's only no more than 9 people waiting that are behind us waiting so tell me what in Sam Hill is going on in Modesto and I've been a Kaiser member for over 40 years as my wife and this is just Ludachris !!!!!!! Update this visit is going on 6+ hours now !

I'm not sure if it was someone at the front desk or one of the staff in the back, and later on I was told that others have had issues with this place as well. That said, the pediatrician we have is amazing, and I'm sure the others are just as great. If it weren't for him, I probably would've said, "Forget it, we'll go somewhere else." Just wanted to give a heads up.

I want to share my frustrating experience with the front office at my children's pediatric clinic…read more I had two insurance plans and decided to keep the secondary one. My six-month-old son had to undergo open-heart surgery at a children's hospital in the Bay Area, where there were no issues with his insurance during his stay. Afterward, he had follow-up appointments with his cardiologist, and there were no problems with insurance verification. However, for his pediatrician the office began saying he couldn't be seen for his follow-up due to a lack of insurance coverage. I contacted the insurance company, and they confirmed he was covered. When the insurance called the office, the front desk staff insisted they couldn't rely on what the insurance said over the phone and had to go by their internal system. This was incredibly frustrating. For over a month and a half, I went back and forth with the office and my insurance to get my son seen. After yet another call, I asked to speak with a supervisor. The front desk staff then admitted they had been looking at the information incorrectly and said my son could be seen. I pressed for a supervisor because I felt the situation was unacceptable, especially since it had been over a month since his surgery. The supervisor acknowledged that the office should have listened to the insurance provider and assured me the issue was resolved. However, when I later tried to book an appointment for my daughter, I was informed within 15 minutes that she couldn't be seen due to insurance issues. I explained that I had just navigated this with my son and that the insurance was valid. The staff then mentioned that verification needed to be done for each child separately, adding to the confusion. Overall, the front desk's handling of appointment booking and insurance verification has been unprofessional, unhelpful, and at times rude. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, especially when it comes to my children's health care needs. It's so frustrating when now you have to take your child who is ill and wait in an ER just to be seen when she should of been seen by her pediatrician this office needs to do better

Do not go here, especially if you are a high risk patient, Dr. Song has terrible bedside manner…read more She actually told me a few very insulting things, I would go in explaining concerns or questions I would have and she would tell me to just stop worrying about the baby's growth etc. when my baby was showing signs of growth restriction at 35 weeks and she wouldn't explain anything to me. She just said "stop worrying, you don't trust me as a doctor at all and I don't even want you as my patient anymore. You remind me of my children, I have grown children and they're never satisfied with anything I do for them they're always needing more and more and I feel like that with you. What are you so worried about?" Then I told her i couldn't change to a different doctor this late into my pregnancy no one would accept me. I was concerned because the baby was measuring small and I had preeclampsia(high blood pressure in my first pregnancy) and also it runs in my family, I felt I was going to develop it again with my last pregnancy I just had. I had all of the symptoms and she would brush them off as no big deal and that I was just an anxious person making my blood pressure high. I was always very kind to her and NEVER pushy or rude so I did not understand her attitude towards me. When I was in the hospital for blood pressure that read 191/117 at 37 weeks pregnant, SHE tried to send me home from the hospital and I told her I was uncomfortable with that, I feared having a still born because on top of high blood pressure I also had gestational diabetes, and in the beginning of the pregnancy I had a subchorionic bleed- all of which WEAKEN the placenta and damage it which can cause the baby to have growth issues and possible still birth. I told her I would not leave the hospital until they made sure my baby and I were okay because I felt something was wrong. She kept us there and of course more problems arose with my health and they ended up delivering the baby the next day. The pathology report of the placenta showed that it was very damaged. The only thing I liked about this doctor is that she did my surgery (c section) well. She told me my baby wouldn't be able to go home with me because she was born at 37 weeks and that she was "premature", my baby was fine and was ready to go home before I was! I felt bullied by her almost, I cried. I developed post partum preeclampsia in the hospital we ended up being there for 9 days because I was so ill, Catherine song was very rude in the hospital for my follow ups and many of the nurses agreed with me, I even spoke with the director from labor and delivery and several others about it. For my follow up appointment 2 weeks post partum, she barely even checked my incision she just peeked at it while I was standing up and said" yah you're fine." I asked if I needed to come back in 6 weeks and she said no don't come back here, here's a different doctor and gave me a different doctors name and phone. This entire experience in my life was very traumatic for me! Of course except for the joy of having my new baby,It was all so worth it have my baby daughter here safely. I am telling this story to possibly save some one else's life. If I had not advocated for myself and my daughter the way I did, both me and my daughter could have had many more problems than we had and possibly death.Take my word, she is obviously all about the money. Not to mention her staff was rude at times as well, they also did not seem to be trained in anything medically. This isn't even the full story there's much more that had happened.
