One of the most important decisions you make is selecting a doctor. If you have medical insurance, you are fortunate enough to have a number of physicians to choose from. Unfortunately, it may not be an easy decision. Some people are lucky and find a physician by recommendation from a friend, family member or coworker. Others luck out when they simply select a physician from a list of names. I fall into the second category. My previous physician retired so I needed to find a new general practitioner. I selected Dr. Lam as he had actually worked at the same office as my physician. Dr. Lam has changed practice locations several times and is now located at GMMSA in Modesto. He is a very caring and compassionate doctor. I never feel rushed during my check ups or visits. Dr. Lam takes the time to listen to concerns and answers questions without making a patient feel hurried. I appreciate his thoroughness and knowledge. I feel confident knowing that my health and well-being are being looked after and taken with good care. read more

Dr. Karam is great, very attentive and helpful. I just wish it didn't take two months just for an appointment. They had originally given her next appointment available in six months! Then they said to try and find an appointment online-which turned out to have one available in two months. Then that one got canceled because she was out of office that day so I had to wait another month. And then she wanted a physical booked three months out, but they only had an appointment six months later. Two months into waiting for that physical so far... is this standard for doctors? I really liked her, but what I had to do just for an appointment is insane! read more

Dr.Karam is a great Dr.I get right in not a long wait. Definitely is a wonderful doctor. If I had a complaint the only one would be I feel rushed sometimes. That's the only reason why I gave a four out of five stars. As for the answering service they need to improve a lot. I'm glad Dr. Karam came to Modesto what a great addition to our city. I had a wonderful experience I have a PPO ins and was able to get into see a surgeon the same day. I went in for a consultation and ended up having a minor office surgery that same day with Dr.Seavy. The MA Rashael was so professional and amazing they were both so easy to talk to and answered all of my questions. They made me feel comfortable and very calm I have had to go in each day for dressing changes and Rashael has greeted me with a smile and made the process so easy!! I would recommend this place to anyone!!! My experience has been awesome!! read more

Honestly I have never been soo happy about customer service before. I had a visit with the ent department . DR GUGENHEIM was honestly amazing. I have never had answers to my sinus issues until I saw him last week. The receptionist Nikki was amazing. So kind and very helpful. I got very good vibes when I walked in the door and saw her smile. She was a very respectful receptionist. I would recommend my family and friends to the ent department anyday. I had a great experience. read more

Go some where else. Surgeons are mean and not compassionate. My vet treats my dog better than how I got service. They take forever to fill forms for SDI and LOA. Get three opinions for any medical decisions or procedure you are going to decide on. Once you start process there is no going back. Fcpp start nice and talk like they know and act compassionate to your feelings and care; then like a bad dream the fangs of bad bedside manner come out. read more

It is impossible to call this office. It used to ring and at least go to an answering machine. Now it goes to an answering service that has no idea what goes on at the office. It takes forever to get a prescription filled. This has been an ongoing problem that has just gotten worse with the new answering service. My wife is on several medications. She last saw Dr. Lam on 8-18-15 when he prescribed a medication for ongoing pain. This was supposedly sent to our pharmacy (same excuse we have heard over and over). We go to the pharmacy and the have not received anything. We call the answering service over and over and they are suppose to relay the info to the doctor. Today, 8-27-15, I went to the office and they told me they would fax it again. I told them I wanted it in writing so I know for sure that I can get it filled. I took that to the pharmacy only to be told by the pharmacist that it was written on the wrong type of prescription. I returned to the doctors office and was told they faxed a new copy. I told them i was not going to trust that because I have heard that many times. I demanded to see the doctor. When I saw him he tried to tell me that we just requested that medication today. I reminded him that he prescribed it back on the 18th and we still haven't been able to get it. I told him his answering service was worthless. He agreed but said that what "they" are doing now. He said he the correction to the prescription he wrote was already faxed to the pharmacy. He said he thinks our ongoing problems with prescriptions might be the fault of the pharmacy's fax machine. NO, if it happened a few times maybe but not every time! Again I told him I do not trust that he faxed a correction and wanted it written on the correct prescription. His nurse was worried that the pharmacist might fill it twice now since she already faxed a correction. Seriously??? I cant even get it filled once! He finally wrote another prescription and I went back to the pharmacy to get it filled. The pharmacist had the new fax and I gave him the new written prescription. I told him the Doctor accused the pharmacy for the problems and the pharmacist said he received this fax so he would have received all the others too if they had been faxed. read more

I really love my OB, Maureen. She has great personality and gives it to me straight. The problems I experience with the office include waiting 45minutes to 1 hour to actually be sent into an office and then continuing to wait in the exam room for at least 30 minutes to be seen. This is what occurred at my last office visit and staff knew I was on a limited lunch break. When the provider came to my room she said she didn't know I was here. When I told her I had called asking if I could get a script to go to a lab and get a mouth swab earlier but was told I had to have an appointment, her response was, "well no, we couldn't do that, we want your money." It was said in a sarcastic humorous tone so I know that the "no" answer I received earlier was not coming from her, but from an institution. I very briefly saw her and spoke to her because I had to go back to work and don't feel I got the quality care and time I normally get with her. I also realized at a past visit that if you are getting a genital exam for any reason, that the same tests are ran and sent to the lab. If you don't feel you need certain tests, be an advocate for yourself because if you don't speak up, you will be paying a pretty penny to the lab later (I have a high deductible insurance plan). Maureen cares about the cost the patient has to pay and tries to make it less for the patient when dealing with which labs a specimen will be sent to. I will continue to have Maureen be my OB. She is supportive and kind and if you stress, she eases your mind. I just wish the agency itself would fix their waiting period and notifying a doctor of when a patient is ready to be seen. I also wish that the agency could make getting a script easier for a patient over the phone so that they don't have to pay even more for an office visit that isn't necessary. read more

Sadly they are making me put a star. THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY!!! Every employee I have ever dealt with has been nothing short of ruin and unprofessional. And actually about a month ago, started lying AND screening call. Not to mention Connie, Kris B and Batina are allegedly supervisors and are supposed to help support patients when there is trouble. Yet I have called for months every day to speak with them. (I have ALL documentation) Not once have I gotten a call back. Jennifer is the call center supervisor and she's just a rude. Who ever is in charge of these people should be fired and hire a professional set of receptionist and managers. Dr lam is a terrible dr. He sat there and called me a liar and said my fibromyalgia was a figure of imagination in my head. Excuse me?!?!? But get this, I'm not the first patient. The new and BEST dr in town I met 2 other patients that had the same issue. Run far away from this company and any dr, receptionist or manager. Needless to say I am so happy I filed a complaint to the medical board along with the better business bureau. Harassment lawsuit will be filed against them shortly. My advice, see any ANY other de than these garbage people. And if you are a victim like me, I recommend sending a letter to the medical board as well. Because how many other people has he mistreated? YOU'RE AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE TO THE MEDICAL FIELD. shame on you doctors, shame on you receptionist, and shame on you "managers" who fail your patients. It's despicable and I will not let this continue for me or any other patients getting treated this way. read more
