No one likes needing urgent care; especially on a Sunday. So when I decided I needed to see someone on a Sunday, finding a place that was not only open but seemed competent was important. Despite some negative reviews, I decided on Medical Access and I'm super glad I did. I was there right when they opened (right on time!) and let in promptly with a few others who were waiting. Due to not being first, and also not having made an appointment, I expected to wait. And I was informed by the receptionist that there were 6 people ahead of me (3 walk in, and 3 online/telehealth visits) and that it could be "a while." I was directed to fill out some paperwork in my car, which I did. Due to the nature of my complaint when I returned the paperwork, I was directed to provide a urine sample. I can't say I was provided much instruction and if I had never done that before, I might have been a little confused walking into the restroom, but I managed to figure it out. That was the only time I sensed that the receptionist didn't want to do much work or came off as uncaring. When I returned to the desk, I was told to return to my car and I would be contacted. Not more than 10-15 minutes later, a nurse came out to my car and asked me more about my symptoms (their nature, when they started, etc), as well as my height and weight, and then said I would be contacted in 20-25 minutes.  She was very nice (I wish I had gotten her name) and I have no complaints about her.  Not even another 15 minutes later, I received a call from Dr. Raval, who asked about any other symptoms, explained what the immediate urine test showed, and what she would be doing, including the medications she was prescribing.  She had already looked up my preferred pharmacy and sent in two prescriptions! I was in and out and on my way in under an hour, and the prescriptions were indeed waiting to be filled when I got to the pharmacy.  For expecting to wait, I really can't complain about being taken care of in an hour.  And Dr. Raval was super sweet, didn't make me feel rushed, and even though we never met, I felt like she cared, listened to my concerns, and was competent (definitely important in a healthcare provider). All in all, if I needed urgent care in the future, I would definitely go back. read more

I never ever take time to torn any business or company down in any negative form, but this needs to be said! even when you make an appointment, you still have to wait additional 30-45 mins. The staff looks miserable being there and doesn't have any patient when it comes to having a small bit of questions. and the worst part is they cannot keep track of their own patients' bill !! I suggest to always double check, because they have double charged me AND my parents for the same bills that were already paid in full from the same date! DO NOT COME HERE. There's a reason their last POSITIVE review was in 2016. HIPPA violations abound. Every person has to say in front of the entire (very small and cramped) lobby why they're there. The receptionists had a long, loud, speaker phone call where they used my first and last name multiple times with the person on the other end, discussing my payment information. Everyone could hear every word said whether they wanted to or not. It was like something out of a parody. I had an appointment for noon. It's already been 68 minutes and I'm still in the lobby. Only one person has gone in or come out in that entire time. The online check in is excessive and has irrelevant questions that accidentally provide the only entertainment available while waiting for these incompetent people to do anything. I don't leave reviews often but Jesus Christ. Spare yourself the frustration. Go anywhere else. read more

UNACCEPTABLE. Like countless of others, we went here for rapid test. My wife is pregnant and we were exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. We were especially worried due to the pregnancy, and were promised same day results within 3 hours. No phone call ever came, no results uploaded into the "patient portal" black hole they speak of. Called several times, sent two messages via the portal inquiring about our results, and nothing. Not to mention the staff are rude and challenged us when we expressed our dissatisfaction about not receiving results later. Do not waste your time with this place if COVID test results are what you're after. Hoping that someone in management is listening to the voice of the customer here. read more

My son was exposed to Covid and got a letter from school stating so. We scheduled a Covid test and they billed our insurance with no issue. My son got Covid and we needed a test result to file a travel insurance claim so he went to Medical Access to get a test. Since it was a walk-in, we had to pay for the test out of pocket and file a claim with the insurance company ourselves. This was not an issue since we had done this before so I submitted a claim manually. I was checking my insurance portal and saw that there was claim from them came through. They basically tried to double dip. I had to call the billing department and the rep told me that they will refund what I paid out of pocket to them. If you have an insurance on file with them and you have to pay out of pocket, please be sure to check your insurance portal to make sure that they are not double dipping. read more

In the past I haven't had any issues with medical access but lately you can not get anyone on the phone. I use medical assess as my primary care I have called 27 times this week and not one time have I talked to anyone. I am trying to make an appointment with my doctor this is getting crazy. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I got a covid test done on December 22, 2021 for travel. I made sure to specify that it was for travel and I'd need my results back quickly. The nurse told me that it would take 24 hours for the test to come back and that I would be notified when my results were ready for pick up. Two days passed before I had to take another covid test elsewhere because the Woodbridge office was not answering its phones or emails. I even e-mailed my "provider" that did not see me for the test. No answer. Fast forward to January 10, 2022, I get a text alerting me that my bill was ready to pay for this test. I did not get any test results back in all this time. Called the number provided in the test and received the Germantown office which then transferred me to the Woodbridge office because there were no test results on me that they could see. I'll update this if I get answer. If at all possible, do not make the same mistake I did. read more

I have made several visits to this medical office and have not been happy with the service I received at any point. They are completely unorganized, never answer the phone, and their billing system is a joke. I have been trying to get a prescription refill for weeks now and their phones must be off the hook because they haven't answered in nearly 3 weeks. Every time I have to do blood work, I get stuck with a nurse that has no idea what they are doing. I often have to take extra time off of work to go to labcorp to get the blood work they Medical Access couldn't do. They routinely send bills months after service has been performed, sometimes past the due date. If you care about your health, time, and money, do not come to this place. read more

Went to the Alexandria location. They said I tested negative for covid, flu, and strep. They gave me antibiotics for a virus and pushed me out the door with no discharge papers, no doctors note, nothing. I felt so bad I didn't think about it. The next day I called back to get a doctor's note for work the refused and instead told me they didn't see a reason that I couldn't work despite me telling them I felt awful. I had to call another branch and speak with an office manager to get a doctor to call back and give me a note. Went to Urgent Care today and I have the flu and an ear infection. read more

Dr. Rival is an excellent doctor, she have taken care of me for 3 years, the front desk is the worst service I ever had. She doesn't know what to do, she did know what "MMR" stand for. I was told by a nurse that I do not need to make an appointment for 2nd dose of MMR vaccine. I arrived the facility today at 9:59 am, filled-out papers and waited for 30 mintues. Then, I got a call that I have to fill-out an additional paper, I went to the lobby "no one was there for me" I had to get their attention, and continued waiting for 10 more minutes. I scheduled an appointment to be seen for an ear infection and they had me in & out super quickly! The prescriber saw me within 15-20 minutes and had my prescriptions sent over to the pharmacy immediately. Only reason I'm putting 4 stars is because I had been there previously for Covid-19 testing and waited a very very long time. First, let me say the male medical assistant was very nice. I would give him 5 stars. He was very polite and professional. This review is not about him. THE DOCTOR REVIEW 1. I was misdiagnosed 2. I told the doctor I would see a specialist but I wanted to see someone for now just to see a doctor and she stated there is no need to see a specialist and that I was fine (when I wasnt) 3. I was told it was safe to go back to work I followed my intuition and found a specialist anyway that same day and sure enough I was contagious and I could have made my condition worse had I listened to this doctor here, and I would have affected my colleagues. 4. I called this place politely hey, just try to make it right and show sympathy by giving me back my copayment for providing wrong medical advice. I dont want to make a big fuss about it but what happened was in my opinion malpractice--the negligence might be the result of errors in diagnosis, treatment, aftercare or health management. They took my information and I have yet to receive a phone call, which is why I am posting this review. 1. Horrible healthcare 2. Horrible customer service Im not sure why its an urgent care. If I could give "-10" stars, believe me I would. Don't EVER bother getting PCR from them. Also it's cute that some people said "I called twice-no response". Try calling from 8am to 3pm every 5-10 min, listening to the same automated messages To begin, it's pretty hard to get through them. The reception is not helpful at all. They are really quick to charge you $225 but we will get there. They ask you to arrive 15 min prior your appointment only to take you at least 15 min later than your original appointment time. The Dr. legit stabbed my brain and when I told him I have a flight in 3 days he said I should be good but he's not sure IF THE LAB IS WORKING ON THE WEEKEND. Not sure?! They called me 2 hrs later and told me that I will get a call with the results on Saturday (my flight is on Sunday). No call. I was reassured that I will access my test results on Sunday, in time my trip. The day of my trip I've been calling them from 8am, every 10 min for HOURS. No one ever picked up. I left over 10 VMs, no call back. The doctor did not respond to any of my messages. No test results. I'm missing my flight. I wasted $225 on top of the tickets for train and my flight. Absurd. My wife stopped through today and the front desk staff were extremely rude. One worker seemed annoyed while trying to balance eating some sort of large meal at the front reception desk without a mask on. She was also inclined to trivialize the reason and urgency of our visit. Guessing anything out of mass amounts of COVID testing isn't common? Regardless, customer service at this location especially at an urgent care medial center should be a priority. I've been going here for over a year now. The staff up front and in the back have always been professional and courteous. My favorite person is Doctor Dipa. She's so sweet and understanding. If she's unsure about something, she has no problem doing some research or reaching out to someone else. I e never had to wait for very long and I'm never rushed once in a room. I had a PCR test on Tuesday. I was given no instructions or portal to receive my results and was told I'd get a call in 3-4 business days. No results yet. I've tried to call the clinic to receive an update on my results and no one answers the phone. Their voicemail is now full. If you urgently need covid results, do not get tested here. read more

I had a covid test and it went smoothly. I gave the receptionist my id card and credit card and then waited in my car. Ten minutes later a technician came out and swabbed me as I stood on the sidewalk. I had a telephonic result later that day. I'd give them 5 stars but my problems started when I tried to get a written confirmation. I called called several times and have sent an email. No response in 3 weeks. I needed written verification for travel but have no resolution. Scheduling and testing is easy but ensure that you have a way to get the result in writing. A recording directs the patient to the Athena Heath portal but I have no Athena account. Very frustrating and a waste of my time. read more

Overall, this is your typical urgent care, and honestly I only went because my go-to had a 3 hour wait. I had been here once before and it was not a great experience, however they seem to have made some changes to the front desk staff and they have a new provider who was absolutely incredible (Dr Adrian). I was ready to give this place 2 stars because the check in process is incredibly inefficient (fill out paperwork online - awesome! Check in at the front desk, get asked to do it all again!) and the triage nurse was wearing an airpod while she put the cuff thing over my elbow ("um should this be a little higher on my arm?" "Nah it's fine"), but in the end Dr Adrian redeemed this visit. They were busy, but she did not make me feel rushed, and she took time to explain WHY she decided on the treatment she did. I was impressed with her communication and knowledge, and while I normally leave urgent cares feeling like another chart number, this time I left feeling good about the care I was given (even though I didn't get the antibiotic I was expecting....which it turns out I didn't even need anyway). All this to say, this is your basic urgent care and pretty on-par with any other urgent care you'll come across - with the exception of the dr I saw. Still 4 stars because of the paperwork and nurse situation, but I will go back, only after I call ahead to see who the dr working that day is. read more

We registered for appoints for covid-19 testing a day in advance. When we arrived for our test we were told they don't test children under the age of 10. I still don't see that detail on their website and the fact that they let me register my daughter with her birthdate is misleading. Our tests were quick and easy. read more

When I attempted to make appointment with the very rude receptionist, she threw a piece of paper at me stating I could do it online , she was too busy to talk to me . I called twice before I got in an Uber to get there. Was told there were no fees for covid testing. I get there and am told that they'll need to hold my debit card. After reading other Yelp reviews I asked about additional fees (which I had already asked about twice on the phone) and was then told there would be a $50 copay because they treat it like an urgent care visit. I sat down in the 'waiting room' and alongside 2 other people, waited for an hour before being seen and finally asked why I showed up. "Urgent care"...really? I had a good experience here. Was able to walk in and be treated for a minor issue within an hour. Treatment included evaluation, a shot, and a prescription. Dr. Mann had good bed-side manner, was pleasant, and took the time to listen/ask questions. Other staff and nurse were also friendly and efficient. I will certainly return for any "urgent" medical needs or when I can't get in to see my GP in a timely manner. read more

The covid tests are clearly a cash cow for this clinic. Even though the rate advertised on the website is $150, what they don't tell you is that they charge separately for the office visit ($185), and separately again for slipping the oximeter on your finger ($50). Fortunately, my insurance paid for their lower negotiated rate, but even that totaled more than the $150. My daughter's insurance does not cover as much, and she ended up paying more than $150 for the whole experience. Definitely a bait and switch, and they should be required to alert patients to the entire expected cost upfront. Really wish I'd read the reviews before we went! read more

Let me start off by saying I am terrified of doctors. I finally decided to come here because my problem had become so uncomfortable. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised at how nice an environment the place was. They had me fill out some paper work and then the nurse called me in soon after I finished. Both the nurse and Doctor were very understanding of my medical history and my phobia of Doctors. They ran some tests and ended up prescribing me antibiotics. I went to Medical Access to have a rapid and PCR COVID-19 test done before upcoming travel. It was required to have a negative test within 72 hours of my arrival so I was anxious about getting the results in time. My appointment was on a Friday afternoon and I received a phone call within 2 hours of my appointment with the rapid results. I was having some trouble viewing them through the on-line portal and the provider was extremely responsive and helpful with getting me access. We were exchanging messages after hours which was completely unexpected and to me went above and beyond. I also received a phone call on Saturday night letting me know the results of the PCR test and I was able to download a copy for my travels. They really made a stressful process very painless and I would absolutely return here if I need another COVID test in the future! read more

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and I was admitted within minutes. I ended up being diagnosed with the flu, and the bills/fees that accrued afterwards were devastating to say the least. The nurses were well mannered and polite, but rushed through everything, and didn't seem to care much about my condition. I have been going to the INOVA Healthplex for my entire life, and they have taken great care of me, especially in my younger years. Although UrgentCare did give me closure, I suggest that people schedule to see a doctor ahead of time, rather than rushing into UrgentCare. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. This place is AWFUL! The doctors don't bother to return messages even after 3, 4, 5 times of calling and trying to get in contact with someone. If you have a serious health issue other than COVID-19, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This place doesn't care, they will not take care of you, and they are not timely at all. Someone close to me has attempted to get in contact with them about five times now, no calls back, no evidence the doctor or anyone else there is going to get back to us, even though this person feels it could be something serious. Dr. Mann provides excellent care for his patients. I found him to be engaging and willing to sit and listen to exactly what my issues were. He not only addressed the immediate problem but also offered advice for avoiding issues in the future. Urgent Care clinics are usually cattle call type affairs where the doctor is in and out in a minimal amount of time. Dr. Mann definitely did not treat me as a cattle call patient. I saw some of the negative reviews and cannot help but wonder if the Docs told people what they NEEDED to hear as opposed to what they WANTED to hear. Having been a pharmaceutical rep in my former life and familiar with Doctors who truly care about their patients, some of the best are the ones that give tough love and are very direct with patients about their responsibilities to their own health. They were difficult to deal with after getting a COVID test. They stopped answering my phone after my first call to their billing office and will not answer my insurance who needs them to respond in order to get my claim processed. My insurance also said that they should have accepted my insurance from the get go, and they should not have charged me. Terrible service! Quick process but long wait time for so called "rapid" results. Never received a call or email which is the process that is stated on their website. Had to physically go back to the clinic the next day to ask for my results in person and all I got was "well I don't know why they didn't call you". 10/10 would not recommend going to this clinic for anything! read more
