So far so good. We took our newly adopted rescue dog (from Delco SPCA) here for a check up the minute we brought her home. The vet tech we saw was very kind and the vet himself was also good. Seems like a decent practice. read more

Media Vet was very responsive to our concerns about Mickey's dental issues. We were able to be seen quickly, then in short order, records were sent for cardiac testing and Brianna and Dr. Atherton answered many requests regarding medication and his surgery. Dr. Atherton even added time to her day to add him to a surgery schedule without waiting for an opening. Knowing a pet is suffering is so difficult and it means a lot that Media Vet cared about this little guy! We are so grateful for your help. read more

Great place for dogs and cats alike. Three weeks ago I took our precious Tabby Cat, Friskie, to resolve a gastrointestinal problem. Today I went with my "son" Tango Mango, my awesome Black Lab, to have him looked at for a hacking cough. Getting an appointment when it's of the essence was no problem. I brought him over and he was seen ten minutes before his appointment time. Outstanding bedside manner and explanation of the possible problem and solutions, which included putting him on antibiotics. The entire staff is superbly professional and friendly. I don't care about me, but when they recognize my dog by name, I feel good. I'm coming back... read more

Receptionist was so rude as soon as I asked about how much it would cost, I had to cancel my appointment. I cannot speak on the quality of the veterinarian. read more

Great practice that I have been using for 10 years. Not sure why they have such a large rotation of vets as I never seem to see the same vet more that twice although I am more of a once a year person regarding visits here. I rarely feel that I am getting an upsell here as I have in other vet practices. I like the fact that they now have an online portal to make appointments etc. read more

We have used this vet for our boxer since she was a puppy. Brought her in for all her check ups and care year after year, she is now twelve. When I called this morning and asked if I could bring her in to be looked at as she was throwing up, lethargic and disoriented I was told the vet was all booked up today and I should take her someplace else. Terrible to be treated this way after all these years and being turned away when we really need help. Unity animal hospital in Wallingford said yes....bring her in. I wish we had gone there years ago. read more

Dr. Wyncoop is the vet to see at Media, hands-down. She's smart and sweet. When we adopted our dog last year - he was already a year and a half - we took him straight to Dr. Marcie Wyncoop. She got us on track immediately, and our dog was healthy in no time. He's a very nervous dog, as you can imagine coming from a shelter, and she is terrific with him. I can't put a price on that. I've also gone to Old Marple, where they are very capable. It's really just a matter of personal preference. The downside to Media Vet is that they don't handle emergencies and Old Marple does. The other downside to Media - and this is only an issue for us because our dog is a big nervous guy - is that their waiting room is small and can get very crowded as it's a popular place. But, it's popular for good reason. read more

I love this place! It's very clean, friendly, and professional, and I would recommend it to anyone seeking a vet in the Main Line area. I was referred here by a friend who grew up in the area after I had horrible experiences with Bryn Mawr Veterinary (see review for details). No such problems here. Even if you call with a question, the staffers will hunt down a vet to find out the answer for you. If the vet said she'd call you back, you get a call from the vet herself (who is patient and completely willing to answer all your questions until you're satisfied). If you need to pick up food or medication and are running late, they'll try their best to accommodate you, even staying late (obviously, don't push this one). They even mailed refills of medications without an extra shipping charge. Dr. Maria Peters is the vet that my dog and I saw--she clearly loves animals and did a great job of being caring toward both pet and owner. She completely solved my dog's diarrhea problem in a cost-conscious way, fully explaining the different options (treating the symptoms vs. conducting testing to pinpoint the cause) and the pros and cons of both while letting me decide based on her recommendations. Additionally, she removed the eyelid tumors my dog had (in both eyes; the biopsy revealed that they were thankfully benign) and performed a teeth-cleaning, and did an incredible job with everything. One of the tumors was on the lower eyelid (the others were on the inner top eyelid); there's no scarring and my dog's vision wasn't affected at all. When I returned to pick up my dog, they sent me home with papers thoroughly explaining what happened during the operation and how to best care for my dog during the recovery period. I had also requested copies of the notes from each of my appointments (since I knew I was moving soon and wanted them for my records), which the office made sure to mail me promptly after each visit. This clinic has a very hometown feel as well--all the other clients seemed to be locals and were on a first name basis with the staff. There's a boarding service here, and everyone who used it seemed to be regulars and happy with the service (I saw quite a few drop-offs/pick-ups while i was there). Tip: The clinic has Saturday hours, which was really helpful when I moved to NYC and had to take my dog back for a post-surgery appointment. Bonus tip: They used to give you one free application of Frontline if you bought two boxes (six months' worth), but I'm not sure if that promotion is still in effect. read more

This place nickels and dimes you on everything. I must spend hundreds a month, between visits, shots, pills etc. and they couldn't even throw in a free cone for my dog that possibly needed to get staples. Instead they told me I needed to make a surgical appointment (which could take days) and to take the dog elsewhere!! Are u freakin kidding me? Don't waste your time and money read more

I am very happy with Media Veterinary! They were so very kind to us when our little Cody got very sick. The doctors went above and beyond. They scheduled a visit for Cody whenever I called and I never had to wait. They fit us in. Toward the end they waived visit fees and medicine. I truly believe they couldn't have done more. Fast forward to now. My 10lb shih tsu LaLa is petrified of most things especially since Cody passed. I had to stop taking her to the groomers as she would scream in fear. Cutting her nails at home was hard but doable. No longer. Dr Brockton recommended that I make an appointment with Mitzi a Vet Tech at Media vet. I can say unequivocally that Mitzi is the very best that I have ever seen!!! Within minutes, she had trimmed all nails and did it in such a calm demeanor, that LaLa settled and allowed her to do her thing. I am still stunned! There was still a little struggling and screaming, but Mitzi remained calm and in doing so, helped LaLa through the process. I will recommend Mitzi and all the Veterinarians and office staff. They get 5 stars from me! read more

We moved back to Media mid-August with our two beloved cats. In September we discovered a lump on Lucy's leg and took her in to see Dr. Peters. The news was cancer and we were, and still are, absolutely devastated. The only good part of this is that we got to know Dr. Peters. She was sympathetic, honest, and so helpful that it made things as bearable as possible. We miss our baby every day but are grateful to have this amazing vet hospital close by. We have recently adopted two kittens to ease the pain and have since worked with Dr. Wilson as well. I cannot recommend this place enough. Dr. Peters and Dr. Wilson are just wonderful. read more

This vet is amazing. For years my dog had an unexplained cough. My other vet kept diagnosing him with kennel cough and prescribing antibiotics (even though I kept telling them that didn't make sense because he wasn't around other dogs). In less than five minutes the vet at Media diagnosed him with a partially collapsed trachea (common in poodles). They are kind and caring, super professional and extremely knowledgeable. I love these guys. read more

I just want to say on 09/19/18, I took my 14year old furbaby "Angel" for a checkup Even though the diagnosis wasn't what I wanted to hear. I had the pleasure to meet Dr Peters, Karen and Diane. These 3 Angels were very understanding, compassionate and helpful. I had a very difficult decision to make about my (Angel). She gave me 14wonderful years and will forever be in my heart . I even received a Sympathy card from Dr Peters in the mail. This is a wonderful facility And if and when I'm ready for another furbaby I will keep them in mind. read more

Prices are outrageous, it's not the same quality care I used to receive. It just seems to be all about the dollar amount they can make. My bill was $463! The exam room was dirty and had dangerous "trash" that could have been harmful to my kittens had they ate the clumps of dog hair, food pellets, or green plastic thing I found on the floor. My kittens did not even get an exam and yet I was charged $76 twice for both kittens. I didn't even get a temperature reading of the one! Two X-rays were given to which I did not approve and then I wasn't even shown the results I was just shoved a CD. My appointment was very rushed. I was not given good instructions of how to administer medication to my kittens. I was turned away from my appointment at 9:30 (at 9:25am) when they said my appointment was 9:20 and I was too late. Apparently there was miscommunication because at 9:10 when I made the appointment I said I lived 20 minutes away. Then I was given a 1:30pm appointment and had to wait 45 minutes. That just doesn't seem fair. If you want your clients to be on time, I would expect the same on my end to be seen in an acceptable amount of time. I received poor bedside manner from a new Dr (I couldn't get into my regular Dr). It was like I was a burden to be with her. She told me my kitten has to stop sucking its tail or it will need to be amputated (in a negative tone like I was encouraging him to do this!), yet didn't offer suggestions of how to stop the behavior. Yet two Drs after her said he is fine. I have always has amazing care with Dr Peters for almost 10 years which is why I always returned to Media Vet. I have referred others to her because I always had above and beyond experiences with her over the years. I can't praise her enough! I tried working with the office manager to work out these concerns as I have been a client here since 2007. $25 credit was the most she could do. Really? My cat wasn't examined and I requested a credit for $76 for the exam. No response. Update: I was told the office was short staffed and my experience was not the typical. However I was back again last night for a re-check and I found 3 large dog nails on the floor and hairball. Again this is dangerous as of course my kittens are curious about it. The vet tech put the eye ointment in the WRONG eye of my cat. When I told her it was the wrong eye her response was "Oh I didn't read the instructions." I'm very sad to see this vet office go downhill as I put many years of trust in them. Update #2 Media Vet emailed me because they did not like my negative review and said I need to find another vet. I am speechless! Who does this?!?! I even had an appointment for my cat tomorrow night and they refuse to see me. 11 years of great experiences and one month of bad experiences and they drop me like that because they can't take criticism to improve their services to clients. Clearly no care/compassion for animals or humans! They wouldn't even return my phone call last week with my additional concerns from my previous appointment. I spent over $700 there last month for terrible service and this is how I'm treated after 11 years of being a client? I depended on this vet and they have failed me and my cats. Terrible business practices! Most of all, I'm very sad to not be able to work with Dr Peters any longer. I would hire her as my PCP if I could! She's THAT good. Thank you again Dr Peters for EVERYTHING. YOU will be missed. read more

Media Vet has been taking care of my fur kids for 20+yrs. Great team, great front desk - nice place to take your pets.

My son just adopted a new kitten. He had worked all summer to help pay for his college. He was unable to get into my current vet and wanted to get her shots done. He made an appointment for shots and they didn't end up giving her any. They performed test that he said he didn't want and charged him $240.00. If I could give them minus stars I would. They took advantage of a hard working kid. I will be spreading the word. read more

My wife and I recently had a house emergency with frozen pipes, and we had to quickly figure out where to have all our pets stay. Our two cats, Fiona and Diesel, had never been boarded before, but the staff at Media Vet were phenomenal in getting them in quickly, checking all their vaccinations, and making sure they were healthy and cared for while we were dealing with house issues!! We can't thank them enough for taking care of our little buddies, and we would feel safe and happy leaving them there in the future! read more

We just moved to town and my pup was in need of getting some vaccinations up-to-date. I decided to take her to MVH based on the great Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed! The waiting room is really big (which is perfect if you have a hyper/nervous dog who gets distracted by everyone and everything!) and the front-desk staff were friendly. We were seen by a really nice tech and Dr. Wilson, who was wonderful. Seriously wonderful. She examined my dog and gave me some suggestions on how to keep her healthy and happy. She gave really great explanations on everything and was very caring and loving towards my dog. She was happy to answer all of my questions and even stayed in the room talking with me for what seemed like an hour!! I highly recommend Media Vet Hospital and specifically Dr. Wilson! read more

We absolutely love seeing Dr Wilson. We own two labs and currently a litter of puppies. She is very personable and provides excellent care to all of our animals. She remembers us and our pets even when they are not all present and always makes a point to ask about everyone. I feel confident in her ability and trust her judgement fully. I would recommend Media Vet Hospital to anyone. read more

The vet tech injured my cat's paw and when I called back to talk about it they were unconcerned. I'll be going elsewhere.

Our little Augie was cared for with kindness, consideration and empathy. His dental procedure had some "bumps" in the road as he was quite sick from the medication administered during the procedure for the 24 hours following. The staff had me bring him right back in the following day and quickly Dr. Wilson saw Augie and treated his nausea and vomiting. He was examined, tested and hydrated after getting an injection to help him recover. Dr. Wilson and her able staff are just the best! read more

Dr. Wyncoop is amazing. It's difficult to find a vet who handles small animals, and even more difficult than that to find a vet who really knows small animals well. My ferret went into her office with a very serious issue. Dr. Wyncoop explained everything to me about her health, and was also very sympathetic while doing so. The entire office is excellent about returning calls and fitting you in for an appointment. I never once felt like I had to chase someone down or was waiting incessantly for a callback. Their hours are very convenient as well. read more

We just moved to the area and this business was highly recommended. Our dog became ill before we scheduled a wellness visit. We called and the vet saw us right away. Dear Dr. I am glad you referred me to Hope where it was confirmed my dog had hemangiosarcoma. From that moment, you have not heard from you. Not even when we offered you to put sleep our dog. You never answered our calls. Yes, my dog died on my arms after cardio-respiratory complication. She suffered in the last minutes. I thought your office will call us. By the way, let me remind you that most people do not what to provide good quality of life to their dogs. If you spend 1-2 or email a guidance about: -How to feed a pet with a terminal cancer - How to comfort the dog in the last days -etc. but you did not. We have never received a call from you. Our dog died last week. Oh, well. read more

All of our pets are treated well at Media Veterinary Hospital, and have been for the 5-6 years we've had our pets. When there are reasons for us to worry, we're always treated well, offered options and supported, whatever happens. Finally a vet I love and trust!! Thank you for being so amazing!!

I have brought my pets to this veterinary hospital for years. I recently had an emergency with my indoor cat and the receptionist absolutely refused to make time for some staff member to see her, not just the day of the emergency but for several days later. We are not talking after hours when I called. No empathy at all. My wife and I expected better from this hospital. Called the Aston Veterinary Hospital, explained the situation and they saw us immediately. I will put out the word to my family and friends, all locals to avoid this business. read more

Amazing experience with them. Recent new dog owner and have taken my dog to them a couple times, each experience better than the last. Dr O Sullivan chipped and snipped my puppy Sully and was great, throughly explaining everything to me, and called me the following morning to see how my dog made it through the night. Highly recommend. read more

We brought our 16 year old cat in for a second opinion in December. The doctor went through the blood work and explained the results in detail. I have never had a vet do that in the past. We were aware that his kidneys were failing but the doctor let us know that we were still OK to bring him back home. After 8 weeks of enjoying him running around the house he became very weak this weekend. We knew it was time to let him go. The staff and doctor couldn't have been more compassionate and helpful. They understood how difficult it is to put a beloved pet to sleep. I would recommend Media Vet to everyone and will absolutely use them in the future if we decide to get another pet. read more

For those with animals, avoid Media Vet. Artie our 11 year old shepard had a fluxuating appetite so we took her Saturday. The vet felt a mass in her abdomen and suggested an Xray. We agreed. Twenty minutes later, he came back, told us he took multiple Xrays and "yes, there is a mass." Then he proceeded to tell us the "he" meaning Artie, who is a female, needed this and that and to go to a specialist for ultrasounds and other treatment. We checked out and it cost $465 of which $380 were for two sets of Xray views. And the vet got her sex wrong. These guys are simply paying for their equipment, so either pull your animals from their care or ask for an estimate before they do anything. And -- of course, they will try to sell you everything from dental cleaning to flea and tick, so beware! read more

Misdiagnosed a growth for my dog. One of the Dr's took a biopsy said it wasn't cancer and just fatty tissue which does not require any removal. Growth grew 3 months later, made appt with the Doctor that diagnosed as non-cancerous. Waited over 2 hours until seen, everyone before and after me in waiting room was gone, I did check a couple of times reminding them I was waiting. When I was seen it was not with the Dr that I made the appointment to see and I was told that the growth did not look good and to go to valley forge surgery hospital where it was diagnosed as cancer. I realize that we are human and can make mistakes, but part of that is owning and taking the responsibility for your mistake. This review would not have been written if the Dr. that misdiagnosed the growth did not hide by not seeing or discussing this with me, this made a bad situation, worse. I have not disclosed any Dr's names because I do not want to damage anyone's career, but am hoping that this type of behavior does not happen to another pet owner and also hoping that the Dr and doctors involved realize that the way this was handled was unprofessional. Lost total respect for everyone involved at Media vet. read more

i started to come here about 3.5 years ago after Dr. Fran Wilson joined the practice. Although it is about a 45 minute ride from where I live I would not go anywhere else. When I call with concerns I always receive a call back from Dr. Wilson; no matter how trifle the problem may be. The office staff are very attentive to needs and the place is always clean. Dr. Wilson is caring and extremely patient with the animals and their people family. Everyone at Media really love animals. Although I mainly deal with Dr. Wilson; I have met the other vets and they are wonderful. The hospital is extremely devoted to animals and their community. I would highly recommend Media to anyone with an animal. read more

We moved our ill tempered little pussy pie from Chicago to media then had to board him for 18 long days while we got married and stayed with relatives between moves. He refused to eat or poop for 48 hours as he's a shaky high strung little bugger. The staff at media vet gave him lots of toys and attention, unlike other boarders who would tag on a daily charge just to hold your cat for a few minutes. Mixtape was made to feel like family. Even as he hissed at and bit the staff, they would flatter him and say he was a feisty handsome good boy. They let him come out of his crate while we played with him for 20 minutes in a little room so we could privately visit and help him get comfortable. Best of all, there were absolutely no hidden fees like I had anticipated. I figured the extra love came at a fee, but that's just the quality standard they provide every pet at media vet. We love you guys! read more
