After being loyal clients of Dr. Kwon's office for over 8 years with multiple pets -- and referring many friends and family -- I am beyond disappointed by the way we were treated during a medical emergency with our dog. After emergency visits to both Penn Vet and VRC, we called Dr. Kwon's office for help and compassion during an incredibly stressful time. Instead, we were met with coldness, dismissiveness, and zero empathy from the office manager, Jen. When our dog became too heavily sedated after emergency treatment to safely make her appointment, I politely asked if our prepaid fee could simply stay as a credit on our account. I was told "no" because I had "broken the policy." No compassion whatsoever despite the circumstances. What upset me most was the accusatory and disrespectful way we were spoken to while worried sick about our dog's condition. Policies are important, but so is humanity. Sadly, this experience completely changed how we view this practice. I always liked Dr. Kwon and thought he did a great job but unfortunately, the unprofessionalism of his office manager Jen is enough for me to never return. She is rude, and clearly shows no compassion or care for Dr. Kwon patients or families. read more

Dr. Kwon and his staff including amazing Tech Jenna handled our dog so well after being ignored at a previous Vet. Surgery was quickly done and they handled our pet so well that she had no anxiety visiting the vet unlike the previous vet we attended. This staff cared so well for our dog we felt like we were family. When it came time to let our dog cross the rainbow bridge we considered home care but we owed it to this amazing staff and went there and we were not disappointed. It felt so humane and they comforted us and our dog so well, some of the staff was even crying with us. 5/5 stars all day, the Dr. was so professional and made us feel at home and gave us comforting advice about our decision. read more

I really enjoyed the practice and the professionalism so I decided to move my cat care to this practice because it was closer to home. Mickey's In excellent health so she really only has to go once a year for her shots and check up so she's not really used to going to the vet. So She was a little verbal voicing her displeasure but Dr. Kwan was amazing with her. He was like "the cat whisperer" with her. The exam went well and she got her shots. I have been here more than any other place since the lock down in Covid. Back in March, when we finally addressed my dog's cough, we took him here at the recommendation of someone. Dr. Barb is incredible. She is thorough and intuitive and to be honest, I would want her as my human doctor. She leaves no stone unturned and she thinks about how everything is connected and she is direct and clear about what we can be doing to take care of our dog while he's navigating new medicines and changing health in his aging body. During Covid, we stay in our car and call in and wait for an assistant to pick up our dog from the car. They are friendly, very helpful, and super accommodating to all of my thousands of questions. They also take care of his nails and they recognize when my dog is too stressed to do everything at once. They have been the highlight of me moving to a new place. We started with him when my old vet told me to take my dog to the hospital because they didn't have an appointment. She had pancreatitis. He told me to bring her right over. Dr Kwon was never my problem; It's his office staff that's the problem! They're rude, inconsiderate and it's apparent they bring there personal lives to work and mistreat good paying customers! I referred there office to my son and an Adoption Center and his office staff kicked my back in telling them things they shouldn't be discussing about my cats treatment. Last week I took my "asthmatic kitty" in to get her monthly depo-shot for her asthma, and while there I asked the woman why they said what they said to the Adoption Center, the woman rolled her eyes at me and made multiple smart comments to my face, and the other woman who came out to take my payment slammed my receipt down on the counter!! Needless to say I requested a call from Dr Kwon, and instead I got a letter asking me not to come back to his office and they were releasing my cat from there care. I guess standing up for myself is not allowed? I guess I get to pay him money and at the same time get mistreated by his office staff? Like I'm supposed to keep my mouth shut when there attitude is presented to me at my time of service? That's ok? But don't say anything back to them or he'll cut ya off!! There mannerism stinks and it's been so obvious they don't care about my kitty or they would have talked this out with me like a professional business they claim to be! Dr Kwon saved our golden retriever's life after the SPCA did a botched neuter. He then worked a miracle when another vet diagnosed an ACL tear and wanted to do surgery but it was just an infection in his paw.We knew Dr. Kwon was the perfect vet for our pups when he came in, sat on the floor, and our 95lb pup rolled on his back for belly rubs.He will love your dog like his own and when it's time to cross the Rainbow bridge, he will cry with you. Off the recommendation of many i took my senior dog here who had hurt her leg. She was prescribed two medications in high amounts. When i first gave them to her she was knocked out, could hardly walk. I decided to stop the one medication after only one use as it seemed way to strong for her. Fast forward to a few months later, as i continue on my quest for a new vet (we moved her recently), where i was met with a quality care program for my senior dogs on and off leg pains ect. This area vet (very good reputation) was aghast at the volume that was prescribed for my dog. My dog should have been receiving 400mg of medication spread throughout the day. Dr. Kwon prescribed her 900mg a day, which I was told was "frankly irresponsible." I do not recommend this practice. I was also surprised when my bill came to over $250 and asked for a breakdown of that. they were automatically ending me home with their vitamins and supplements ect that they recommended for my dog- however i never asked or agreed to purchasing them at that time. Not to mention the size bottles and quantities were absurd since my dog is 15+ and in palliative care why would i buy enough for another year +. I had to ask for each charge to be removed and explain it was not in my budget that day and i had not asked for it. read more

I will be searching for a new vet. This is the fourth time I have taken my dog here for the same issue and they haven't properly treated it yet. They just keep prescribing a bunch of overpriced meds. They also make you wait for forever in the waiting room. And try to get you to have random tests ran even though they don't have anything to do with your pets issues at hand. We love Dr. Kwon, and, so does our dog! It's obvious, he loves animals, and, is very compassionate. Our dog had a tumor removed last year, and, after a couple of days, he managed to scratch the incision open. We were so upset, and, even though it was a Sunday night, we called Dr. Kwon, and, he went to the office, opened it, and, stitched our dog back up! I had to have the vet at Brookhaven Animal hospital open up for an emergency tonight. Our mainecoon cat Fluffy was neutered at Springfield Animal hospital last week and they totally messed up and because of them, our poor kitty was in bad shape. Springfield did nothing for pain or infection for him and didnt even give us a cone (we were there 8 days ago) Tonight we noticed poor little Fluffy was bleeding and very sore and lethargic . His incision site had a huge infected sore. we have to keep him coned and give him antibiotics for a week and keep him in a cage. Plus we have to wash his sore with antiseptic twice a day. Brookhaven animal Hospital is the best and they really care about your pet, I will never go to Springfield again. It was so nice of them to open up for us so late at night, I dont know any other vet that would do this for us. I will never go anywhere else read more

After working with two other local vets, Brookhaven Vet was recommended to us. Our Shiba Inu was adopted and had no background, so we were basically working with nothing. She was constantly sick and lost all of her fur; the previous vet suggested to us to think about putting her down. For us, that was NOT an option. Finally, Dr. Kwon at Brookhaven was able to immediately figure out that it was a food allergy she was having. An easy change to her diet and she was better within the week! He knows every breed out there, and is amazing with animals. He gets down on the floor and talks to them one and one. Some may think it's funny, but I think it's amazing! When we adopted a puppy pom we knew were going to take him to Brookhaven vet and we are so glad we did! Dr. Kwon was recommended to us through several different people. We had been using mobile clinics and we just didn't think this was enough for our pets. We are so glad that we found Dr. Kwon. He is wonderful with our animals. We have 4 dogs who see him. One of our dogs is incredibly scared of going to the vet but Dr. Kwon has made him comfortable so that he can get the care he needs. One of our dogs was recently attacked by a dog on the loose and Dr. Kwon explained to me all of my options with reporting the incident, something I did not expect to learn from him. He gave me several phone calls throughout my dog's surgery and recovery to let me know how things were going. Dr. Kwon also helps a local animal rescue organization by health-checking their foster pets. He loves hearing their adoption stories and is genuinely interested in every pet he sees. I took my 70 pound pitbull to Dr. Kwon after he helped my other dog. I went in for a rabies shot. I was told a certain price. When we showed up, he muzzled my dog for no apparent reason, did a heartworm test I didn't ask for, and tried clipping his nails. Now I'm working with a trainer to let my boy cut his nails again. I deal with breed discrimination all the time, I just wasn't expecting it from a vet. We see Dr. Costa at Providence Veterinarian Hospital and they absolutely adore my dog.
