I was recommended to this clinic from the rescue I adopted my puppy from. (Wet nose rescue). The price was incredible compared to my regular vet, they were professional from the get go. The ease of booking online was nice. I was greeted by a receptionist that was polite and friendly. She explained the process and gave me instructions. Someone came to get my puppy eve while I filled out paperwork. I did a few add ons like nail clipping and microchipping. My puppy's incision was clean and dry and she is healing nicely. I would highly recommend the spayed club for your puppies being spayed or neutered. read more

My only experience with this here clinic was the emptying of my little man's change purse, and, as terrible as that thought is for me to process, they made sure the life changing operation went as smoothly as possible for him. The morning of the procedure I dropped Buddy off in their very spartan waiting room, but that didn't worry me as it was bright, it smelled extremely clean, and the lack of frills conveyed a sense that they were all business. Spent five to ten minutes filling out the paper work, then I bid my mutt farewell, they took his whimpering and soon to be fruitless arse in the back, and I went on my way. After his demasculinising, they put him in the recovery room where I was able to watch him via web-cam as he recouperated. Eventually he started to twitch and generally wake up, so he was taken back to a cage off camera, and I knew everything went well. They kept him overnight to ensure no complications arose, and then I picked him up the next morning with some handling instructions from a nurse and a new cone for his collar (obviously designed to raise his home destroying prowess). There was no surgery "souvenir" in a carrying pouch/sample jar, so nothing to bronze for the trophy case; I suppose you'd have to special request something like that. Also got the beast chipped here for only $20, and they clipped his door ruining talons without me asking (or paying either), but the best part of the whole encounter was that my newly made eunuch received his neutering on the cheap; they have a special wherein your Pit Bull, pure bred or mongrel, can be spayed/neutered for $25. Only complaint I have is that I'd always heard the snip snap makes dogs a bit more docile, when in fact my monster came home with more energy than I'd seen in him yet, and 4 months later he still hasn't slowed down. read more

I was so nervous about getting my little baby neutered here but based on reviews I decided to go for it. It was such a reasonable price & I got inexpensive microchipping done. My concerns were for nothing. Everyone was so courteous & cared about my questions. The appointment process was easy & went without a hitch. Don't let the outside of the facility fool you because it looks like a warehouse. The service was exceptional. read more

I was really nervous about getting my 90-lbs., male boxer fixed. I first went to my vet to get it done because they're great and I really trust them, but it was going to cost upwards of $700 which I simply refused to pay. I contacted the Montgomery County SPCA to see if I could get the surgery done for him there, but they do not perform spays or neuters on pets, just strays that come in. However, they did refer me to a few clinics and one of them was the Spayed Club. The website immediately made me feel better about taking my four-legged baby there. I made the appointment via email and they responded to me within a few a hours confirming my appointment. Since my dog is over 80 lbs., the neutering was $175, the max price. Talk about a steal. They also offer rabies shots and microchips. He already had his rabies shot, but I was definitely on board with the microchip. My total, with the microchip, came out to $205. I opted for same day pick up (Friday only) so I dropped him off bright and early Friday morning, filled out some paperwork, and they took him in the back. They do offer a web cam in the recovery room online, but I never saw my pup on camera. I later found out it was because he was one of the first ones to get snipped. The latest you can go to pick up your pet is 6pm. I was anxious and got there a little after 5pm, but it was no problem. He was ready to come home! :) His stitches healed really well and he's just the same pooch he was when I dropped him off. I will recommend this place to any pet owner that needs to get their cat or dog fixed. The staff was so nice, calm, and reassuring and the facility was very clean. read more

Cheap prices! Definitely made going here worth it but there are many things that concern me about this place. Communication is key, especially for customers or concerned animal owners and this place lacks communication is the worst way possible. Twice I was told wrong information by one of the two people that they have working the phones here ( they really need more then two people if they are going to not call people back). I've never not had someone confirm appointments the day before? Who doesn't do that? Especially when there is no answering service just a "leave a message" automated bs. They need help. I showed an hour before they opened because I was told the wrong time. I waited and then came back and walked into this empty construction site looking room with a the lights off, fold out table, two chairs and a bunch of stacked cages. I thought I was in the wrong place. I stood there with my animal almost double thing should I leave? This doesn't look sanitary at all. This was scary! See my photo. If my dog didn't need the surgery in the worst way I would have left. I picked my dog up the following day but no one called at the end of day one or before opening day two to even see if I was coming or to give me an update on my animal. That's sad for a concerned animal owner but once again their communication sucks. read more

Okay, so I just got my little kitty, Winky, spayed here. I'm a first-time cat owner, so I am new to the game, but this is my review of the Spayed Club. It was definitely the cheapest place around me to have her spayed and kept over night. Everyone told me it is much better if they can be kept over night after the surgery. The process went fairly smoothly from making the appointment to picking her up afterwards. I don't know if it is just me, but the place definitely did not look as clean in person as it does in the pictures, and it smelled awful, but i guess that is normal? The reason I am only giving 3 stars is because of the organization. I understand that they take in numerous cases, but I had to make an appointment. It seems like if I had to make an appointment and was there on-time to drop off my baby, then I should not have had to wait for others that just walked in with strays. When I brought Winky in, I filled out the paperwork, and I was told when I made her appointment to bring in her shot records so they could give her the last distemper as well as the spay. The woman that checked her in barely looked at the records, and was not going to even offer the shot if I did not speak up. I was a little annoyed at that. It does also slightly bother me that pitbulls are only $25 to spay/neuter but my 4-pound kitten cost $60. When I came to pick her up the next day, they did not open their doors until 10 minutes later than stated, but yet, I was prompt and I had to go to work after picking her up. I also discovered later via e-mail that they were supposed to have given me her paperwork after surgery, but they did not. In fact, they were keeping all of the papers and just discharging the animals. I was also not sure if my kitten was fed at all the day of her surgery after it was performed, as she was more than starving when I brought her home. Her surgery went well, and it was still cheaper than the vet; however, I feel like if you are bringing in your own pet cat, not a stray or a dog, that you are not given the same sort of attention. read more

I had my cat neutered here about 2 years ago. They did an excellent job as far as I could tell. He didn't seem to be bothered the following day and 2 years later he's an adorable healthy cat. The recovery cam wasn't working when I took him but I don't think I would have wanted to see that anyway. They included all the necessary shots needed in the cost which was nice. The place doesn't look great but looks can be deceiving. The 4 stars are only for the services and procedure. The staff you deal with I would give a single star but that's not what you are going there for. The woman who accepted my cat was rude and short with me. This was my first time having a pet and I was a wreck having to drop him off and go to work. She didn't help with this. Also I wanted him to get an additional vaccine and she acted like I was an idiot asking for it and talked me out of it. My friend is a vet and recommended I get it just in case my cat were to ever get out of the house. I was a paying customer not sure why she would talk a customer out of something that could be necessary. It still annoys me to this day lol but other than that I have no complaints. Just know what you need before you go in and don't let the people at the counter talk you out of anything. read more

My German Shepherd is like my child and I don't trust her in the hands of most people. But after a few weeks of my own asking around and a little research I found that the Spayed Club would work best for me and my dog. Drop off in the morning, pick her up the next morning which for me was fine. I don't wanna see my dog all doped up from the anesthesia a few hours after surgery. I got her back the next morning and she was fine. All of the staff there were very kind and willing to answer any questions I had. Very thankful they took good care of my little Jasmine!!! read more

I would lime to thank the spay an save clinic for all the help they have been to me I had a dog with entropian very expensive to fix the dog is my friends he is on a fixed income has no cash so a lady that works there her name is Donna she set everything up even came all the way to Pottstown to get Angel. The operation was successful. Donna has helped me wit my cats an dogs as I'm a single mom an my kitten kept breeding. Took both my male and female dogs here to fixed. I called and was given an appointment within a few days. Brought my dogs in on a Thursday morning at 8:00 AM, said goodbye to my pups (do it outside, before you go in) , filled out a single sheet of paperwork for each, paid the EXTREMELY responsible fee ($110.00 each based on weight) and was on my way 15 minutes later. The staff was friendly and professional, and the facility was squeaky clean. The next morning picked my dogs up and they are both doing great. Make sure you have your dogs shot record (if they've had shots), and it's a good idea to give your dog a bath a day or two before your appointment, because you can't get them wet for a few weeks afterwards. All told, I would highly recommend The Spayed Club. I found them after taking to my regular Vet who wanted almost a $1,000.00 to fix both dogs. read more

I'm excited to be the first one to review this place. I passed by this clinic everyday on my way to work but I never gave it a second glance until a fellow dog owner at my local dog park told me about it. He sung its praises and told me that he was the biggest skeptic because of how cheap it was ($100 dog neuter!), but the prices are so low because its a non-profit organization run by volunteers and a top surgeon who simply loves animals. I was sold. I was told about this place less than a week before my Shiba Inu's already scheduled neuter, but I took a chance by writing them an email to schedule an appointment and a couple hours later they booked my appointment. Not only was the neuter cheap but they also did microchipping for much less (around $20-25?) and they kept the animals overnight to make sure they were ok (my vet was going to send them home at 8pm on the day of the surgery). They also have a webcam on their website so you can watch the animals in the recovery room (it was down when my puppy was there so I can't say too much about it). The workers are extremely friendly and put you at ease. My puppy came home full of energy and didn't have any problems (except for some loose stool and he hated his cone). In case there are problems, they let you bring back your animal to examine for free. Apparently they offer annual shots and heartworm medicine for much less. Looks like we'll be going there from now on. I highly highly recommend this place; you will be saving a lot of money and you will be in the best of hands. This is a great place with reasonable prices and great staff. My daughters dog Connor had his teeth cleaned at one third the price of other vets. They r friendly and casual. When my cats went into the room she took them out and let them walk around which was so unusual. I really liked this and the cats seemed calmer. read more

Don't worry about the condition of the office. This place is a non profit. If you want fluorescent lighting go to pet smart and pay $450 (that's the actual quote they gave me). You won't be blown away by the condition of the office but that mattered little to me. All I wanted was to have my best friends balls removed safely. I felt weird typing that. Anyway - everyone here was super nice and trust worthy. After dropping him off I could hear everyone in the back making a big fuss over him - which I'm sure he loved. read more

My low rating results from health and quality concerns for my pet in addition to poor customer service when speaking to an associate about said health issue. I took my year old lab mix to The Spayed Club Clinic to be neutered on 12-Mar-2015. Family members had taken previous pets there approximately a year prior with no issues therefore upon their recommendation I was happy to bring my pet to this facility. When I dropped him off for the overnight procedure he was taken from me immediately in an effort to keep multiple pets out of the waiting room at one time. I was not given the opportunity to say goodbye before his overnight procedure, however I quickly moved pase this, filled out his paperwork, was given pick up instructions and left. I arrived to pick him up the next morning, and was HORRIFIED when he was brought out to me covered in feces (after payment was tendered). He was shaking and smelled terrible, with feces across his face, ears, behind and clumped up the underside of his tail. I inquired with an associate who was rude and provided no explanation. I commented that I would need to bathe him and was rudely told that he could not be bathed because of his procedure. I tried to inquire further but was rushed out the door because the cat drop off time was quickly approaching. When I arrived home, I attempted to clean my dog who was violently shaking and would not come out of the corner of the room. Because I could not bather him, I used pet wipes and pet dry shampoo however the feces were so embedded in his fur I was forced to cut it out. My very happy, social pet has been anti-social since his departure from the facility. I will not be taking any future pets to this facility and will recommend the same to family and friends resulting from both the condition my pet was returned to me and the lack of quality service provided during my experience. read more

They took expert care of my cat when I rescued him. They are friendly and knowledgeable and I felt totally comfortable. I never had to use them for spay or neuter but it's what they are known for. The prices are extremely reasonable for wellness visit and other services too. They are worth the drive if you aren't local. read more

picked lulu up this morning after being spayed yesterday, she smelled funky but i just thought it was the normal smell from spending the night in a cage. when i got home i noticed she had shit stains on her fur and dry feces around her anus and under her tail.. and what i thought was dirt on the cone, or e-collar, was definitely shit. maybe they didnt see the dried up feces around her anus, who knows but since i cant bathe her for 10 days, I wish they would have cleaned her up a bit nicer. read more

A beautiful little black kitten started showing up for food at our back door, She was too tiny and exquisite that I thought she must belong to someone but she was out there 24/7 and I could not find an owner. Finally, I took her to the vet I was using at that time and had here tested for AIDS & for Leukemia to make sure it was okay for her to be around our other two cats. Both tests came back negative and the vet estimated her age as 7 months plus she was pregnant. His office estimated $500+ to have her fixed and told me it was important to get it done ASAP. At this point a friend told me about the Spay club and I called up and made an appointment. I figured that if they fixed cats all the time, they probably knew what they were doing. They certainly did! The little cat (Now called Macy) came back full of life and eager to meet and play (osometimes fight) with her two brothers. I also learned that the tests that cost me $120 ($60 for tests & $60 for visit) could have been performed at the Spay Club for $25. This is a great place. They are efficient and friendly and really love animals. In spite of the large volume, I did not feel rushed and I know Macy got great care. read more

We are getting our Pit Princess in March and we plan on coming here, I heard of The Spayed Club a few years ago and was under the impression they only did spay and neuter for cats and dogs but while I was researching the SPCA site I clicked a link that took me to The Spayed Club site and I was very happy I did!! This clinic is great for us animal lovers that don't have a lot of money to care for our pets. This is a wonderful, caring, family like place, that allows us to afford having a pet. People will adopt more when they can afford to take their pets to an affordable place. Dr. Alexander and her staff know what there doing. Your pet is loved by them just as much as you love your pet. I travel one and a half hours to see her. Just because they help us save money doesn't mean their less competent. Vet offices are outrageous with their prices. I'm not ashamed, embarrassed, as a matter of fact I'm honored to go to The Spayed Club. I know my furry babies are in the best care! We love you Dr. Alexander. Thanks for thinking of us pet owners by saving us money, putting in your time, and really caring about us less fortunate people. I noticed one reviewer stated that the Spayed Club was quite pricey. I beg to differ. I have been taking my pets there for several yrs and it is quite cheap. The staff is excellent and very helpful. I am VERY disappointed in myself for taking my baby to this place. I would never recommend it to anyone that cares about their pet. I took my 1 year old healthy, happy cat to be neutered here. Received a call that afternoon telling me that they "lost" my kitty! Apparently after giving him the anesthesia shot he died. They wanted to do testing (autopsy) to see if he had an underlying disease, which I refused. He did not have anything wrong with him before he went in this place. Sure they only charge $60 to spay/neuter a cat but the savings isn't worth losing your pet. He was our family. And they handed him back to me in a brown cardboard box. And still charged me for the neutering that they confirmed they did not do! Think twice before going here. read more

I took my 6 month old kitten to get neuter here can't say enough about how wonderful their staff is. They were very friendly and organized. And I was very impressed how clean the place was and how it did not smell. The whole process was very easy.
