I didn't plan this mall trip, but I ended up inside the mall thinking I was getting Egg-Foo-Young from a Chinese restaurant, but instead I settled for Sabrro Pizza. I'll review them in another post. Needless to say, there was no Egg-Foo-Young, but on my way out I noticed a store that had leggins on sale. It was actually an all leggins store for woman. This particular clothing store had a faint smell of a musty basement, but that didn't bother me as much as the cashier did. She was a big haired, dark-skinned female, medium/large in her size and she spoke softly. As I made my way to the rear of the clothing store I noticed several signs that read 50% off on some racks, but the rack that caught my eye was the one that read $3.99. Of course my feet lead me straight to that rack. As I browsed the rack's attire I couldn't help but notice the young lady cashier keep her eyes on me. I picked out three items. Before I made my way to the register to ring up my items I noticed a 50% sign on a rack with some waist cinchers and other undergarments for women who need to slightly have a little more squeeze. Although, I, myself am not very big I wanted to replace my old waist cincher. There were no prices on the tags of the garments so I called the young lady over to the racks, there were two, so she could assist me. After a slight hesitation, as if she didn't have feet to come to my aid, she made her way over and proceeded to inform me that the items were indeed half price, but she needed to check the prices and then she would be able to tell me the 50% total. I was ready to depart this store at this time for two reasons, the first being the long hassle and the second was because of the smell. I decided to leave the undergarments and simply buy the two pair of leggins I wanted and the jacket I had. All three clothing items were taken off the $3.99 rack to which the cashier eyed me the entire time. When I get to the register she begins to tell me that one of the leggins cost $25.00, the jacket was to a set that cost $15 or more, yet the jacket was a small and the pants that she claimed matched the jacket were a X-tra large and the final pair of leggings were $4.99. She obviously saw me take the clothing items off the $3.99 rack and she didn't even apologize for the mixup, she didn't offer me the price and she didn't not once stop complaining about how they stuck her in the store and she didn't know why the prices were what they were. But prior to this she acted as if she knew all about pricing when she was explaining to me about the 50% off undergarments. I just figured she needed some money for some more hair spray, lunch or she wanted leggins or something and tried to scam me. That is the oldest retail scam that cashiers do. The cashier will claim that they have no idea what is wrong with the prices, they will say that they can't make the correction and if you are stupid enough to purchase the over priced item that they give you and not the sale price that you see they will take the money they charged you and spend it on pocketbooks, sunglasses, drugs, liquor and their dusty boyfriends that probably put them up to the scam. Unfortunately, I've misplaced the receipt that should have the name of the store, but if I find it I will post it.

Now you must exit each store out into the cold or bad elements or summer heat to visit another. You might as well go downtown and shop on Market or Chestnut because this shopping area is no longer a destination. Formerly ,I got my one stop shopping done here about eight times a year but Because of the new configuration I've only been here twice since it opened. I'll never brave the elements in under 50 degree weather so that eliminates Thanksgiving through St Patrick's Day I'll not be shopping here. Who wants to run store to store or to the car in a rainstorm? And I know many people who feel the same way so in some cases they have lost a lot of business from those with disposable income. But it's a new day and someone probably got a promotion to executive Vice President for this good ( NOT!) idea. This place is pretty but if this was an attempt to compete with online shopping, it's a fail. Now 5 months a year I'll be taking the e-commerce route versus shopping here. Giving it 3 stars because its newer, pretty and clean.

There are a dozen or so restaurants and eateries, a movie theater--Movie Tavern, Wegmans, LA Fitness, Dick's Sporting Goods, Pet Smart, Michael's, and even some upscale retailers. There is also a medical facility in this complex. I've been to half a dozen or so restaurants and eateries here for the last two years such as Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Red Robin, Olive Garden, Zoup!, Panera Bread, and Zoe's. We frequent Wegmans when we're looking for some specialty grocery items, fresh seafood, and bulk poultry or meats. Having a large-scale grocery store with pub and restaurant (unfortunately currently closed, however) makes it very convenient for shopping and dining here. They also offer buffet-style ready made foods by weight for take outs. Speaking of which, they offer a myriad of ready-to-eat packaged fresh foods. Providence Town Center seems to offer a very good variety of eateries and retail stores for your needs and wants, and it's conveniently located off the Collegeville exit off Rte.422.

Pro tip, if you are on vaca like I was, while driving to the outlet, take an exit off the highway / turnpike and take Valley Forge Rd through Valley Forge Park and see some of our nation's history.

Anyway, I drove by today, as I do almost everyday and noticed that they plan to add a farmers market! Gullifty's is still there and the management is looking for more stores to occupy the place. I suggest a planet fitness, another apple store, candy store, and maybe a daycare place. Right now, it's not really rate- able, but I guess it's worth 2 stars mainly because its an empty ghost town, but not for long!! I miss the old borders though... I used to love studying there. Not only…read morehas it received a complete renovation, but the center has come alive with wonderful new tenants! I have used the nail salon for years and their newly expanded space is terrific. Joining them now is barre 3 fitness studio (need to try this asap!) and downstairs, my new favorite market: MOM's. Their store has it all: organic produce and meats, allergen-free options for everything from cheese and crackers to ice cream to healthy children's snacks and juices, and a HUGE selection of skincare products and vitamin supplements. They also offer free water to stay hydrated while you peruse their wide aisles or wait for your order from their Naked Lunch bar. I highly recommend the black bean burger....their juice bar is fantastic, also. Shopping here is truly eye-opening. And speaking of opening, I was excited to see the progress being made for the opening of the farmer's market. With vendors such as LeBus and Margaret Kuo's and Bella Olivia, among others, I am very eager for this part of the newly-renovated center to open. My routine stops to Rosemont Square for the pharmacy and the nail salon just got much more exciting!

A few years ago I would have unhesitatingly given Concord Mall five stars. I actually feel guilty…read moregiving three stars now, but if I were honest and rating this facility based on what it has become, I'm sure I'd be giving less than three and possibly one. You have to wonder how long this mall will last. When Macy's announces their next round of store closures next month, and if the Concord Macy's is among those, you have to think that will be the death knell. If Macy's remains open, this mall will continue on life support a little while longer. The area between Macy's and the shuttered Sears is now pretty much a ghost town. The one saving grace in this mall is of course Boscov's, which continues to be busy and apparently profitable. It's almost as if people go to Boscov's, then venture out for a sandwich at Chick-Fil-A and then pack it up and go home- unless they're looking for cheap jewelry or want to activate a cell phone. All of this pains me I have to say. Concord Mall was my go to mall pretty much forever. I liked the fact that it was smaller that Christiana, and it still had everything I wanted. It was a fun place to visit and a nice walk around. What's happening here isn't the mall's fault. Online shopping trends weren't created by them, and surely COVID wasn't their fault either. If this mall withers away and dies that's going to be a loss to everyone in north Wilmington, and I hope they can pull one out and make a go of it. I'll probably be one of the last shoppers when the lights go out, clutching my Boscov's bag and enjoying a slice at Cafe Riviera.

The only familiar store was Chick-fil-a. It also had the most number of visitors in the whole mall. The mall was pretty clean and organized. Some security personnel were around to ensure safety. The restrooms were actually maintained and good to use.
