This mall was so empty it was sort of spooky. More than half of the stores had no tenant. The ones that were open weren't very well known. Few clothing and furniture store. The only familiar store was Chick-fil-a. It also had the most number of visitors in the whole mall. The mall was pretty clean and organized. Some security personnel were around to ensure safety. This is barely a mall. It's an abandoned building. Less than 10 local stores are open. I don't think I see any chain stores in there. There's a furniture store with discounts. Some clothing stores with discounts sign as well. I'm going to assume merchandises are in a good price because they prob just want to sell everything. Food court is closed. Seats and tables are still there. I see cleaning crew walking around. The bathroom is in ok situation. Old and outdated. We walked around and honestly it's very sad. read more

Concord Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Wilmington, Delaware

A longtime Yelp elite member wrote a review saying 'this mall won't be here in 10 years.' That was from 6+ years ago. And I have to say, I think that member was right. Concord Mall appears to be wasting away. The first time I saw it, I assumed it was already closed, aside from a few restaurants at the front. The mall parking lot is mostly empty. The pavement is torn up. I went inside out of curiosity, and it's a handful of open stores and lots of vacancies. I read that even more stores are closing in 2025. Presumably people would rather shop at Christiana Mall or go to freestanding stores in the surrounding area. When I asked a teenager who was born and raised in Wilmington about places to avoid, Concord Mall was on her top five list. Specifically, she said that it gets sketchy at night. It's kind of a shame, because when I was a teen, 'The Mall' was a fun place to hang out with friends, window shop, grab a snack, etc. I worked at a mall that had a similar layout to the Concord Mall, and it felt pretty safe because it was always busy and well lit. I hope that Concord Mall had this kind of heyday at some point, but I think it's solidly on the path now toward being torn down and redeveloped. read more

A few years ago I would have unhesitatingly given Concord Mall five stars. I actually feel guilty giving three stars now, but if I were honest and rating this facility based on what it has become, I'm sure I'd be giving less than three and possibly one. You have to wonder how long this mall will last. When Macy's announces their next round of store closures next month, and if the Concord Macy's is among those, you have to think that will be the death knell. If Macy's remains open, this mall will continue on life support a little while longer. The area between Macy's and the shuttered Sears is now pretty much a ghost town. The one saving grace in this mall is of course Boscov's, which continues to be busy and apparently profitable. It's almost as if people go to Boscov's, then venture out for a sandwich at Chick-Fil-A and then pack it up and go home- unless they're looking for cheap jewelry or want to activate a cell phone. All of this pains me I have to say. Concord Mall was my go to mall pretty much forever. I liked the fact that it was smaller that Christiana, and it still had everything I wanted. It was a fun place to visit and a nice walk around. What's happening here isn't the mall's fault. Online shopping trends weren't created by them, and surely COVID wasn't their fault either. If this mall withers away and dies that's going to be a loss to everyone in north Wilmington, and I hope they can pull one out and make a go of it. I'll probably be one of the last shoppers when the lights go out, clutching my Boscov's bag and enjoying a slice at Cafe Riviera. read more

I've seen bigger and I've seen better but this mall is actually A-OK. Nice wide spaces for walking, plenty of variety and while they do have the usual chains that show up in every single mall, there are a handful of new entries that I've not seen before that are mixed in between the anchor stores. You can do some real credit card damage here! There's a food court but there are also a few other food spots that are not in the food court. I especially enjoyed the easy and clear exit signs from the parking lot to get back onto 202. The north and south are nicely separated to keep the traffic moving! read more

Concord Mall is dying. Sad to see. Macy's, Boscov's and Bath and Body works are the only stores worth shopping in. Restaurants such as Bonefish Grill and Cafe Riviera are good. But there a a bunch of cheap low-end stores geared to teens. Stores I'd never shop in. Won't be much longer until the mall is completely dead. read more

Like most American malls there's just little to nothing left here. 25% of the stores are empty, especially post-COVID. A giant Sears, a Lane Bryant, just vacant. Hot Topic is gone. You're basically left with a bunch of chains that are in every mall (Claire's, H&M) and then a bunch of off brand garbage stores like "Cool Topic" and "CellFun". The era of the American shopping mall is slowly grinding to a halt - with the demise of the Granite run mall and slow decline of Concord and Springfield Malls (Concord has many empty stores.) The good part? Plenty of parking - and at lunch there is a Chick Fil-A and a grub burger bar (have not tried), a Sbarro, Auntie Anne's Pretzels and more. There is also a Bath & Body works and a Victoria's Secret for when I need one nearby. Glad it's here but I bet in 10 years it won't be. read more

It's convenient, clean, and most importantly tax-free. It doesn't have much in the way of unique stores and the anchor stores including Sears aren't likely to be here in the future. Still is trying to be a traditional mall place focus on just retail & too many food court-type restaurants when that concept is rapidly fading. Almost never stop here unless there is a very specific reason. It might hang on as people from PA continue to shop here but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes through a big revamp in the next 5 years either especially after Sears closes sooner than later. read more

There is plenty of good shopping to be had up and down the business route of 202 especially at the Concord Mall. While it in no way compares to the mega structure that is the Christiana Mall over in Newark, it certainly has its own positive merits. For one it has a Chick Filet. Major plus in my book. Second, it has an H&M. My personal clothing haunt. And within the past two years they have seriously upgraded their restaurant game by adding Grub Burger Bar and Bonefish Grill. Plus they have other staples to round out your shopping experience like FYE, Foot Locker and Victoria's Secret. And next door to the mall is a Best Buy, Ulta and Barnes and Nobles. The one thing Concord Mall really lacks are more high end/ luxury brand stores. There is a very nice Macy's at Concord and it's pretty much the only store you can go to at this mall for Coach or Michael Kors but other than that you'd have to go to Christiana to get fix. read more

The parking lot can be a pain in the ass but it's a very busy popular place so that is to be expected... I would give some parking lot pointers, but I don't really want to share where the best places to park are, so there are still plenty of spots for me when I get there. LOL. Just kidding, but seriously if I'm planning to hit a particular store, I obviously try to park as close to that as I can get because this mall is one super long straight mall and I get tired of walking back and forth. Otherwise, I find that it's easiest getting in and out if I park in the front Sears lot or way at the other end next to Boscov's. Anyway, once you figure out where to park, which is apparently a big issue for me, there are tons of great stores in this mall - almost everything you could wish for. The food choices aren't all that exciting, except for our favorite - Noodles and Company. There is a Chinese place that is just so-so, Sbarro's which does smell and look wonderful, Subway, Ruby Tuesday's and a couple other places. Chick Fil A of course. The mall is clean and nicely kept. Overall a great mall to visit, and definitely not lacking in customers! read more

What a crazy place...not in a good way. This mall has gone down the tube over the past ten years. It's sad because this was my favorite hang out place growing up. I went in to do some shopping a few weeks ago and basically all the stores were closed. It reminded me a lot of how Granite Run Mall looked when it was getting ready to close. I called these guys on the phone and asked them if they had a selection of men's leather coats. The woman told me "Yes we have plenty of coats!". So I drove there from Pennsylvania and what did I find? They had only one leather coat in the whole freaking store! I have bought leather coats from them in the past. I don't know if I'm more disgusted or just plain angry. Why lie to me over the phone? If they didn't have any leather coats I would have understood. But no, they lied and said they did have them, when they absolutely did not!!! I am supremely pissed at them!!!!!!!!!! What happened to them? Gone are the days of a dark smokey shopping mall with carpet and those little rides for kids that took quarters. Of course that was 1987.... This mall has had its ups and downs. Stores I miss: The Limited, Woolworths, Strawbridge & Clothier, Sam Goody, The Wall, Suncoast (movie store), the book stores (Walden books?), Rave (a recent departure), Structure, KB Toys, Burger King...the list goes on. There's no Gap here. Hard to believe that a mall without a Gap actually exists. There was once a Gap and a Gap kids.... There are plenty of shoe stores and jewelry stores. Department stores: Macy's, Boscovs and Sears (plus Macy's Home Store). Hot Topic is still around. Video game store, FYE (cds/dvds), Lens Crafters. Hallmark Gold Crown, and another similar store. McDonalds, Cafe Riviera (pizza), etc... But to sum up this rambling review.... Tax free shopping Variety of mall food Not too many mobs of teenagers the way Christiana Mall has Traffic getting there is not too bad. read more

I really like this mall for a few reasons. 1) Its not overly packed with kids/teens muddling their way around 2) Place is well kept, clean and everything is easy to find 3) Easy bus access for those that use it 4) Can walk a block down to Best Buy and Barnes & Noble Bookstore which covers most everything else you may not find in the mall. Now they do not have a food court so those options are lower than some other malls, but you have your staples of Italian, Chinese, Chik-Fil-A, Champs, Ruby Tuesdays and the new Noodles and Company to choose from. Plus coffee shop, Auntie Anns Pretzels, Cinnabon (mmmm) and a couple other snacky spots. Im a Macys fan so Im content with hitting there and maybe grabbing some food/snacks or taking a quick browse around the other stores. If you want to walk for hours and have an endless selection of stores/kiosks hustling similar crap then this may not be the mall for you. If you know what you want and the store you need it from is there then stop in. Its quick, convenient and a nice mall. read more

If you had asked me what I thought about this place back from 1984-2008, I'd have told you "the best times ever spent throughout my youth and 20s!" Since I was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware and spent about 23 years living there, Concord Mall was like a 2nd home to me. I even worked there in 2001-2003 at their F.Y.E. music/movie store until being transferred to the one at Christiana Mall. But, from what I have read recently, the mall is definitely not what it used to be. As times change, money flows, and bigger business have come to take over in droves... I remember a time when Concord Mall didn't even have a McDonald's! I remember when they had a Friendly's! I remember when they had BOTH a Sam Goody and The Wall! I remember back to a time when they actually had a video arcade that was known as 'Space Port'! The ultimate 80s video game center to enjoy yourself while spending tons of quarters on games like Pole Position, Pac-Man, and Outrun! But alas, that was then...and this is now. Sometimes I think malls like this are just going to end up dying out. It seems like the stores/restaurants that take up the space are better suited just for outdoor shopping plazas and don't even need to be housed inside a mall like this one. Maybe on my upcoming honeymoon back to Wilmington, Delaware I may just take a quick walk thru the place for nostalgia sake, but I'm sure it just won't be the same, like when I went to Christiana Mall back in the Summer of 2010. That place had changed so much it felt like a huge chunk of my childhood had been taken away. Like that song 'Big Yellow Taxi', "they repaved paradise and put up a parking lot..." Concord mall is a pretty solid, run-of-the-mill, old school, nothing fancy mall. I've NEVER been there when it's crowded which is nice. As others have said parking can be a pain but in my opinion it's just b/c of the entrance/exits on either side with tight spaces in between. I like that it's doable in a few hours. You can do a big loop, hit all the stores you want/need and still have most of the day free to do what you need to do. Tax-free is the biggest reason I come here. It could use a better coffee bar and a few more food choices but hey, it's got the basics covered and it's close to the PA line. read more

i grew up in Newark, DE so this was not my mall. my mall was Christiana Mall. Concord Mall the mall i went to with my friends who lived in the city. it was the crappy mall, but it was the mall with the only Hot Topic at the time. that was about 13 years ago. now it's the only mall in the area with an H&M and Hollister (which the kiddies love). it's super duper small. the crowd is super duper odd. and the parking is a super duper pain in the ass. read more

I visited this mall on Black Friday when it was busy. Parking still wasn't a big problem so I'd say their parking lot is adequate. The mall is small. I started at the south end and walked to the north end and back. That didn't take long. I wasn't impressed with most of the stores in the mall but there were a few stores of interest. I'd just say it's an easily accessible mall if I wanted to go to a Ruby Tuesday. read more

This mall was a nice mall. There's been some stores recently that have been disappearing (5 stores). A few years ago there were no empty spots and now there are a few. There are multiple decent places to eat which is nice. The 3 main stores are Sears, Macy's and Boscov's. When Granite Run gets finished being redone I think I might just go there instead. I've always had a great experience with Chick-Fil-A restaurants across the states, but unfortunately I didn't have the experience I was looking forward for at the "Concord mall location". The Mall overall is nice and small; this review is specific for 1 store within the mall. STEER CLEAR of CELLFUN so you do not waste your hard earned dollars. The products they sell break only after 8 days ... and conveniently their warranty is only for 7 days. Their customer service is terrible. They only want to help if it involves spending more money. I don't normally do this but I feel I have to let people know. I took my 18 month old to see Santa at the Concord Mall. The baby cried (as babies will do) and Santa said to me "Come and get him." He wanted my son off his lap as quickly as possible. Guess what Santa, babies cry. It's what they do. And if that offends you maybe you are in the wrong business. I marched right over to customer service to report the incident and there I found two young ladies staring down at their cell phones with very unpleasant looks on their faces. I told my sister we were leaving. Santa was miserable, customer service was miserable, and I wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. Complaining to the mall will get me nowhere since I am sure all complaints are intercepted by the staff and never make it to the owners of the mall.
