After my first, I've been perusing what would be the best style for my second (I really wanted to get a tattoo dedicated to my cat, Matcha). I instantly fell in love and as fate has it, there was an inspo photo of an omamori with jiji (from kiki's) and cherry blossoms that hit my instagram. Instantly, I knew that this is the style I would like so I messaged Yeonnie and she responded quick. She will do the sketch a day before your appointment (you'll get a cute sketch by midday) and you can request any changes. I absolutely adored the edition of my cartooni-fied cat. Now that I have it on my upper left arm, I am so happy to have a few of the things I personally love forever on my body. Thank you :) I definitely would recommend her. She's quick so the painful moments does not last as long. highly recommend!!

10 Thousand Foxes takes tattoos very seriously, and you will be DELIGHTED that they do. Everyone…read morethere understands that the decision to get your skin permanently inked should never be spur of the moment, so the multi-step process they use insures that you will be thrilled with the result. After making initial contact, I emailed the shop's manager, Nichole, who is supes gracious and a hoot, with the text and font of the ink I wanted. From there, I set up a consultation with the very talented artist who worked on me, Jaime Morales, to go over the design, where I wanted it placed, to estimate a price, and to ask any questions I might have about the process. One of the things I really respect about their operation is that their artists will be up front with you if something you want is not a good idea or may not stand the test of time. Since this was my first tattoo, I had a lot of questions, and Jaime was incredibly patient with me. Before I left, we set up my appointment to get inked. When I arrived that day, Jaime sat down with me again to compare sizes of the design he had created, and to make sure I was comfortable with placement. I won't get into the weeds about the process, except to say it was very precise, done with surgical cleanliness, and you leave with explicit instructions on caring for your tattoo moving forward. They also welcome questions you may have after the procedure. I am super happy with the results, and I can't recommend 10 Thousand Foxes more highly. FINALLY, DON'T FORGET: If you love your ink, tip your artist at least 20 percent.

Let me start with the boring stuff before I get to the WOW!…read moreThe place is spotless. Great care is taken to make sure everything thing is clean, sterile and bright. No worries there. Very chill vibe and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Lastly, being I am a virgin when it comes to tattoos, I was a little nervous and didn't know exactly what to expect. I had pondered a particular design for over 10 years. I happened to meet someone who had multiple tats showing on the subway and asked her out of the clear blue for her opinion. Well it must have been Good Karma. (Not Chappell Roan's Good Karma) Turns out Nicole is a tattoo artist and gave me a better idea for what I had been contemplating. Nicole gave me her card and we exchanged emails going over what came to be my final design. This put me over the edge and decided to pop my tattoo cherry. I booked my appointment with her. She took great care when doing my ink explaining everything as we went through the process. I really didn't find it hurting as other people have said to me when they got theirs. Kudos to Nicole if that's unusual for the process to not hurt. I am absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out! No doubt I would recommend Nicole for any artwork. She is truly amazing!

I chose my earrings then sat down. I was out of there in 15 minutes. Its been three weeks and my ears are doing well, no issues with healing. The second time, I went in on Sunday afternoon to do mid helix piercing. I had an appointment. It was busy in there. The person ahead of me (a school age kid) was taking a long time, she was crying and scared. Once it was my turn, the nurse thanked me for my patience. She explained everything and was very kind. Overall the experience was great. I don't live in nyc but I didn't feel 100% comfortable going to any of the places near me. Anytime I want another piercing, I will return.

I told both the piercer and manager upfront that I'm allergic to stainless steel and titanium. I was specifically assured that the bar, the part that actually goes through the ear, was solid 14 karat gold. It wasn't. It was stainless steel. I was also told the back was a screw back, but it was just a pop back. Weeks later, when my piercing wasn't healing, I had it removed and that's when I discovered the truth. For someone with metal allergies, this is a serious and potentially harmful. As for the manager -- he was rude when we walked in, didn't say hello and just asked if I had an appointment, but that paled in comparison to how he treated a grandmother who had come in excited to wait for her daughter and granddaughter for the little girl's very first ear piercing. He was really rude to her, and that's not okay. That's a memory-making moment for a family, and she deserved so much better than that.
