Would be 0-stars if possible. Worst customer experience of my life. And I'm still paying for it…read more 100+ hours of my life wasted dealing with legal threats, which began on Day #2 after getting his invoice! He showed up to replace our well pump. I asked him for general pricing information - he was offended. After repeating the request, got him to give me pricing at $200/hour for their time, and $4-5 for pipe, and $1100 for the lower-end pump (for 220' deep well). OK. Then he gave me a bottom quote total price of $3K, and no hiccups on the job, and a total time of 2.5 hrs at our home, and only a 10 mile drive to our house - I was figuring the price would be approximately $3,000 (near the bottom of the quote). Instead, it comes in at $4,000, and he charges me $1465 for the pump instead of $1100 ($365 above the on-site original quote), and the pipe at $4-5 should mean "close to $4.50" - he charges me $5.13 -- above the max limit. Then adds on $83 of Misc Materials - but won't tell me a SINGLE item included in that bundle of mystery. Very offended by his misquoting of prices, I send him an email specifying some of the quote inconsistencies, and ask him to accept 5.5% discount on the price, where the inconsistencies SHOULD have been more like 25% discount. I was compromising MOST of the way. He calls me - yelling at me that I'm ridiculous and should have NEVER asked for pricing!... and that NO ONE ELSE EVER ASKS FOR PRICING AHEAD, except for me! And that I must pay 100% of the invoice, no exception. Now I'm regretting that I've got to deal with this dishonest malicious man for warranty! I want him to pull it out, as I've arranged for a nice company to come in and do the job for less - with more experience and ethics. He gladly priced it ahead at under $3500. 3 days after the pump was installed - Schrader's owner Owen, refers me to his ATTORNEY -- Day 3. 5 days before my 7-day invoice is even due. Before anything is due, or late -- he stops all communications with me, addresses NONE of my concerns -- NOT ONE -- stops customer service (no responses, stonewalled) -- and WILL NOT even tell me the name of this attorney he referred me to. My hands are tied. No one to talk to or deal with. 3 weeks later, I get a Property Lien notice, now demanding $1200+ in attorney fees on top! In short: 1. He misquotes pricing, then gouges me above the quotes on the invoice. 2. I ask for partial discount of 5.5% 3. Yes yells at me with major insults! 4. I ask him to remove his equipment or reduce his price even more (giving up my warranty)... 5. Next day - 2 days after Invoice, 5 days before it's due - he refers me to his Attorney. 6. This starts the process of accruing Attorney Fees! 7. He won't tell me the Attorney's Name 8. Won't address a SINGLE concern. 9. Won't budge even one cent on his price. === Now I've been told they are suing me, to foreclose on our house! Over a 5.5% dispute that he wouldn't even discuss details for. Worst consumer experience ever. Year ruined. Choosing Shrader was my worst choice of the decade. Our neighbor had him do his well too - and he won't even let Owen back on the property -- he can't stand the man.

I paid approximately $15,000, and they quit after receiving the third $5,000 payment, leaving problems throughout the home. On the first day of the project, the electrician performing the service panel changeover told me he was legally blind and scheduled for eye surgery the next day, and he proceeded to switch the panel over without waiting for the utility disconnect keyholder, despite my objection. A few other examples: Uncapped, hanging loose, 240-volt live wiring in the laundry room Live uncapped receptacles, including one near a main doorway right where my dog slept We had to walk through the house ourselves with a tester identifying what was energized and cap wires ourselves for safety After tearing walls out at their direction, there was still a cut wire energized, in wall cavities inserted into a live rewired receptacle. The entire second story (about ~18 receptacles, 8 switches, and multiple appliances) placed on a single 20-amp circuitbreaker Wiring routed between floors through unconditioned garage space Multiple failed/arcing GFCI outlets, including one outside with a hole allowing water intrusion A laundry room light switch that must be ON for exterior lights and a bedroom receptacle/switch to work. Thankfully its a low ceiling because must unscrew lighbulb. Brand new apprentice left in house to work alone. They also told me walls had to be removed to the studs for rewiring. A second licensed electrician later confirmed that demolition was unnecessary, costing thousands to correct. After I asked them to return materials removed from my workshop, they stopped work and told me to hire someone else. A replacement electrician has estimated roughly $15,000 more just to completely remove and redo their work. I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General, which opened mediation. Weeks later, they still have not responded. These are only a few examples.

Equipment is only as good as it's instalation and these guys are top notch! They put in our new furnace and heat pump in one day and did the extras like replacing old wiring and condensation drain tube to prevent future problems. They covered our floor with tarps to avoid tracking dirt through the house and cleaned up all remnants of our old system. We had 3 estimates, all were within $100 of each other so I feel their pricing was very competitive. The installers were both friendly and professional, and took time after completing instalation to make sure we understood all the information we needed to operate our new equipment. They also followed up with two phone calls to make sure everything was working good and we was happy with our purchase. I would highly recomend Grayless heating and cooling for all your HVAC needs!
