Would be 0-stars if possible. Worst customer experience of my life. And I'm still paying for it. 100+ hours of my life wasted dealing with legal threats, which began on Day #2 after getting his invoice!
He showed up to replace our well pump. I asked him for general pricing information - he was offended. After repeating the request, got him to give me pricing at $200/hour for their time, and $4-5 for pipe, and $1100 for the lower-end pump (for 220' deep well). OK. Then he gave me a bottom quote total price of $3K, and no hiccups on the job, and a total time of 2.5 hrs at our home, and only a 10 mile drive to our house - I was figuring the price would be approximately $3,000 (near the bottom of the quote). Instead, it comes in at $4,000, and he charges me $1465 for the pump instead of $1100 ($365 above the on-site original quote), and the pipe at $4-5 should mean "close to $4.50" - he charges me $5.13 -- above the max limit. Then adds on $83 of Misc Materials - but won't tell me a SINGLE item included in that bundle of mystery.
Very offended by his misquoting of prices, I send him an email specifying some of the quote inconsistencies, and ask him to accept 5.5% discount on the price, where the inconsistencies SHOULD have been more like 25% discount. I was compromising MOST of the way.
He calls me - yelling at me that I'm ridiculous and should have NEVER asked for pricing!... and that NO ONE ELSE EVER ASKS FOR PRICING AHEAD, except for me! And that I must pay 100% of the invoice, no exception.
Now I'm regretting that I've got to deal with this dishonest malicious man for warranty! I want him to pull it out, as I've arranged for a nice company to come in and do the job for less - with more experience and ethics. He gladly priced it ahead at under $3500.
3 days after the pump was installed - Schrader's owner Owen, refers me to his ATTORNEY -- Day 3. 5 days before my 7-day invoice is even due.
Before anything is due, or late -- he stops all communications with me, addresses NONE of my concerns -- NOT ONE -- stops customer service (no responses, stonewalled) -- and WILL NOT even tell me the name of this attorney he referred me to.
My hands are tied. No one to talk to or deal with. 3 weeks later, I get a Property Lien notice, now demanding $1200+ in attorney fees on top!
In short:
1. He misquotes pricing, then gouges me above the quotes on the invoice.
2. I ask for partial discount of 5.5%
3. Yes yells at me with major insults!
4. I ask him to remove his equipment or reduce his price even more (giving up my warranty)...
5. Next day - 2 days after Invoice, 5 days before it's due - he refers me to his Attorney.
6. This starts the process of accruing Attorney Fees!
7. He won't tell me the Attorney's Name
8. Won't address a SINGLE concern.
9. Won't budge even one cent on his price.

Now I've been told they are suing me, to foreclose on our house! Over a 5.5% dispute that he wouldn't even discuss details for.
Worst consumer experience ever. Year ruined.
Choosing Shrader was my worst choice of the decade.
