They host many events, have a wine club, have food trucks mostly on weekends and also live music. We went Friday night for a little wine paring. The wines are a little sweet for me. But went nice with the little charcuterie board. Service was easy and quick and friendly. They also have parking in the front and at the back . I've visited Medaloni too many times to even count! One of my favorite wineries in the area. I recently went and loved all their beautiful Christmas decorations. My wife had been here before but this was my first and I told my wife last time. The price point on the wine was more than the wine was worth. In addition our pourer who is the blonde in the blue top either was having a bad day or just didn't want to work there. She talked fast and barely gave us a moment. Loved the wines here ! The Petite sirah was my favorite. I came with girlfriends and enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. They let you bring your own food here which is great so we were able to picnic. Their wine selection was one of the best I've had so far. Very similar to California wines in my opinion. This winery has really beautiful grounds. We visited on a hot humid day, they had a few fans but rest of the outdoor seating was super hot. If you get a tasting flight, by the glass or bottle, you can take your wine to their outdoor seating areas or tables. I went with the tasting flight ($15 for 3, 2 oz pours) which I felt was pricey. I would recommend tasting by the glass if you know what you like. We tried the Chardonnay, montepulciano, Cabernet franc, rose and Chardonel. Sadly none of the wines were my palate but of everything we tried, I enjoyed their rose the most. Water is by purchase, bottles only which I didn't like. Staff is very friendly. Our go to winery! Would recommend for anyone out of town in the area. They do a great job of keeping it classy but also comfortable. Lots of cozy outdoor seating with fire pits and great outdoor views. They allow outside food, which is a big win for my group since we really enjoy making our own charcuterie board. My brother lives in the area and they are wine club members. We stopped by on a sunny, but chilly Saturday in November & sampled two white wines. Both were dry & crisp and I loved that there Adirondack chairs had slots cut in them to hold a wine glass. It was a bit cool yo sit outside so we grabbed a table for 4. There outdoor area looks great for summer and my brother and sister-in-law love coming here regularly. Only complaint was the charcuterie tray is quite pricey for what's in it, it was ok for 2, but small for 4 & cost $18 & NO crackers. The cheeses were nice...one piece of chocolate? Somehow I forgot to post this review when we checked this place out for the first time last year. I'm looking forward to coming back this year! The wines here were excellent from what I remember, and wine slushies are always a winner in the heat of summer! The grounds are spacious and peaceful, with lots of room to stroll around and take in the different scenery. The patio and bar areas are clean and also well spaced so that you don't feel crowded. The staff were also helpful and friendly as we selected different wines to try in our flights. When going to a winery, the grounds are important of course but the main attraction is the wine, of course. For some tasty and refreshing wines, Medaloni is worth a stop! read more

We started off with the flight which I was impressed with every wine we tried. The guy helping us also had us try their Cabernet from California and compare it to the one here which was a great learning experience! We ended up splitting a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon since that was our favorite, but I would honestly buy a bottle of any of the wines we tried. Location wise this place is beautiful. Love this place! We almost every Sunday now as a family. Wide open spaces (cue the Chicks, formally known as the Dixie chicks) great for kids of all ages to run around. It's a great spot to pack a picnic lunch and thankfully they typically have food trucks on the weekend. They have both indoor and loads of outdoor seating. Medaloni has good wine but the reason to go is really the environment. A couple of friends and I went for the tree lighting this year to check out the space and get in the Christmas spirit. The space was decked with Christmas Decor and coupled with the fire pits and a nice glass of red wine, it was a really great night! Even during other months of the year, both the indoor and outdoor space is unmatched by other wineries in the area. The adirondeck chairs that spread the property are cute, comfortable and have a space to hold your glass. Be sure to check any specials they're having each day-- on a Friday night when we were there all glasses of wine were $5 which was really awesome! read more

So I have decided to go back to Medaloni and I can say the place has been really upgraded. This time we tried a bottle of Vermentino and it was really not bad at all a lighter wine for a warmer day. They also had cold beer for sell also, think Bud light and Stella also lighter fare. Lobster Dogs had a food truck there and go course there Lobster rolls were nice and buttery and creamy. The acidity in the wine actually paired well with the lobster roll. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They had music playing and the sun was shining. #1 Medaloni has great wine. #2 I really don't like to give 5-star (or 1-star) reviews because generally it is very rare for a business to be "the worst" or "the best." But--- having been to Medaloni a few times, having their wine, and experiencing the atmosphere , they really deserve a 5-star. First off the place is just beautiful and they do a great job maintaining the grounds. There are two spots to hang out, the front spot on the hill is close to the front parking lot. It's pretty nice. I prefer the spot in the back. It has a better view and the bar is enclosed in a highly configurable space. If you want a breeze or shade or sun or indoors: it's all there. The staff are unobtrusive as well. So, when you sit down and relax and have your wine it really is very good. I prefer dark reds: merlot, Malbec, Zinfandel, etc but this time it was getting pretty warm and I ordered a bottle of Medaloni Rosé having not had Medaloni's version before. It was excellent. The Viognier is also great. They keep a tub of ice out for patrons to keep the bottles chilled which is a nice touch. In the end, for my anniversary it was a great experience. Not the first or last time I'll spend my money there. Assuming you like wine, you should do the same. read more

The property is beautiful and meticulous in terms of maintenance but I did wish the buildings and seating areas were situated such that you could see the gorgeous vineyard. The wines (and sangria) were top notch. The 2018 Flight Series French Colombard was my favorite, with bright fruit flavors with hints of lemongrass, and just enough sweetness to cut the acidity and make this the perfect chilled white for a sultry summer afternoon. I came here for a recent event which was my first visit. I appreciate how the winery is tucked in amongst the landscape. The variable seating areas were visually appealing and can meet the desires of many people. Beyond this I would choose another winery to visit. I had the chambourcin which was tough to drink but I eventually made it through the glass. There was no offer for a tasting prior to purchase which likely would have directed me elsewhere. Uncertain if that is allowed. When I did question the staff member "helping" me about how the pinot gris is I was told: "you know, like a pinot grigio." Time will tell-maybe the experience will be redeemed another day. read more

Such a nice vineyard to enjoy even in winter. They have an indoor area and A fire pit outside. Very friendly staff and customers and dogs are welcome as well. Today they had the ever popular Musician Mike Bustin playing. He comes every few weeks and he plays acoustic music on the patio or indoors depending on weather conditions. There also is a little wine trail for you to take a stroll w your glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful sunset. A nice drive in the countryside takes you to this lovely venue. read more

We were in the area for a girl's weekend. NC was half way between TX and NY. Our plan to drive up the road and stop at wineries as they came up along the road. This one wasn't too far off the freeway. It looks brand new even though they stated they have been around since 2008ish. Staff was friendly. It appears all NC wineries charge for their tastings. We got about 8 tastings. I didn't pay for this tasting so I am not sure how much but all were under $15 each. The grounds are nice and they have cute chairs. Nice bathroom. Appears to be a popular place on the weekends. Only open on weekends without an appointment. All of their wines are a bit young for my taste. A good stop but we didn't buy any bottles. read more

Overall a good experience at Medaloni. We had a bourbon barrel red and some wine slushies- both were delicious and the seating and view were great! The service was okay but nothing unique or extremely inviting. I can definitely see why Medaloni gets the visitors that it does, as close as it is to Winston. Even though the experience was "good" I would not mark it as anything special- their wine is good but I have also experienced much better quality in the Yadkin Valley at a cheaper price point. Their service is attentive but not over the top in terms of considerate/attentive (not that they are rude, just that they do not stand out). As for a popular larger winery- it is right in line and worth a visit! I am just not sure it will become my personal go to spot any time soon. read more

Sometimes good things are just around the bend...literally. After missing the turn to go to another nearby winery Mrs. B and I turned into the next driveway to correct our course only to realize it was the entrance to Medaloni Cellars. We hadn't planned on hitting an extra winery on our day out, but since we were there decided to follow the gravel drive back to what turned out to be favorite stop of the day. The tasting room is sort of a cross between a barn and a garage. It is very open with the spacious high ceilings. They have 3-4 garage style doors which open to allow for a nice breezy atmosphere. There are a number of wooden adirondack style chairs inside as well as outside on the patio. I personally enjoyed the more modern vibe as opposed to the more traditional/rustic tone that a lot of NC wineries have. I'm all for classic, but a change of pace is nice sometimes. We strolled up to the tasting bar where we were warmly greeted and told about the two tasting options they offer. We decided to do the one which let us sample all their wines. The pours were generous and the wine was great. They also offer a couple of cabins for overnight stays and do events such as weddings. Had it not been as overcast the day we were there a walk on their "wine trail" (aka relaxing path through the woods) would have been nice. Overall our missed turn became a great find! They are relatively new (not even on the ncwine.org map yet) so check them out if you're in the Yadkin Valley and looking for a place to stop. read more

Definitely my favorite wine AND winery in NC! This place is just awesome! I have done multiple tasting and sampled all the wines they sell and think they are really all quite tasty! They also seem more reasonably priced than other NC wines. The winery is open for tasting on the weekends but my favorite thing to do is to buy a bottle of wine and relax on the property with my SO. With the hot weather recently, we have been enjoying their rosé. They even have buckets of ice around for you to keep your wine cold while you unwind! read more
