Sturgeon Fish for my Party!!! Decorated with Red and Black Caviar!!! Fancy AF!
Violet P.

Updated - Another Wonderful experience! This is my second year having them cater my New Years Eve party and I couldn't be happier. I ordered various salads, red pepper/eggplant ikra, puff pastries, black caviar and sturgeon fish. I told them I wanted something super elegant/fancy for my party and they over delivered!!! I rely on them to cater bdays, etc and I always talk to Val or Alla who are always super helpful with my order. I had no idea where to begin when ordering and they always give me a run down of what's available and what pairs well. I just stopped by to pick up some herbs, Manuka honey and herbal tea.. sooo many things to choose from. I'm always finding new things here!

Now lets get this straight, I know Zero about Russian food! I walked in before an eye appointment across the street and asked the lady what was good! I told her to choose.. She gave me a potatoe pastry, stuffed pepper and a stuffed crepe. All were delicious except the rolled crepe. Today an older lady choose the stuffed cabbage and cheese pastry. I inhaled them! This place has some very good food! I myself prefer the stuffed bell peppers, stuffed cabbage and cheese flakey cheese pastry. I tried the frozen dumpling type things and they were good too. I'm sure there's a real authentic name for the yummy things I've talked about but Sorry I don't know them :) Plus I'd probably butcher the spelling anyway! It was funny how I got a side eye when I first came, and the customers still usually ĺook at me crazy! I get it! My lingo is off, my ordering is - What's that, what about this, is it good, do you have them peppers? ROFL, but the service is good and they are very patient with my foolishness! I've been a few times and will come back next time I'm in the area!

Delicious

I've been here many times and they gave different selection of food and also reasonable prices , I bought yesterday a red caviar and it was really delicious. I'll come back here for sure.

This is all the variety yumminess that is displayed for you to choose from

Great little Russian store with authentic russian food, grocery, herbs and supplements. Vinegret and roasted eggplant salad are very good.

The hostesses caught me almost immediately as I entered. The food server brought water without request. Plenty of seating upstairs, downstairs, and at the counter. Excellent and quite extensive bakery. Food is just terrific, and the same prices we see here in San Diego at Elijah's Deli on Clairmount. Love the Cheese Blintz

This one is in a class of its own. It was the worst I have ever had. It looked like leftover ends. It no taste and chewy. It was small pieces. The bread tasted like it was stale. The crust was so hard. I ate two bites. Added mustard. And it was still not eatable. The coleslaw was dry coleslaw supposed to have some juice. This one did not. Now let me go onto the pickles. I love pickles. I eat pickles twice a week all over the country. in fact all over the world I've had pickles. These were the worst I've ever had. I don't know what has happened to Canter's but Canter's is no longer a good deli. I would avoid going there at all cost. The only good thing about it was the service. The tables and everything look rundown. Personally, I can't see it being around that much longer.

I personally prefer a lighter sauce, so we asked for light Russian dressing, which was perfect. The portion size is great and definitely easy to share. I also loved the side cucumber vinaigrette salad--it was fresh, light, and delicious. We tried the chicken schnitzel sandwich as well, which was crispy, flavorful, and very satisfying. The only downside is the parking situation. There are just a couple of spots, so you'll most likely need to find street parking. The inside is small, but they make up for it with plenty of outdoor seating. You order inside at the counter and they bring it out to you. Prices are fair for the quality and portion sizes. Honestly, you're getting something comparable (if not better) than Langer's, with a better location and vibe. Can't wait to come back!

Oh, it presents as a textbook Jewish deli of old, with traditional brown booths and paneled dividers, dark Formica tables, and a menu featuring the greatest hits of deli dining. But the food here is overpriced and underwhelming, like so many of the other delis around town these days. The staff is nice, for sure. They welcome you with smiles, seat you quickly, and immediately offer you drinks. Everything is clean and well-preserved, so you feel like you're in for a great meal. I ordered my usual: Pastrami on Rye, Russian Dressing on the side, with Potato Salad. To drink: Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray, the very best soda for cutting through the richness of deli meat. The sandwich came promptly, and looked quite nice. The portion was appropriate for a normal sandwich (as opposed to being ridiculously stuffed), and the pastrami was nicely marbled. But looks can be deceiving. The bread was a bit too dense -- possibly made that way, or possibly a touch stale. Either way, after 2 bites I abandoned the bread and just ate the meat. The pastrami, while juicy with a soft texture, lacked flavor. I believe they bring their meat in from a purveyor, and the lack of inspiration is evident. Potato salad was also generously portioned, but had far too much mustard, and the result is a side dish that feels more Southern Picnic than Lower East Side. Again, this is a Deli serving a so-so sandwich at a price nearly the same as Katz's in NYC, and it's a shame. It's just not worth it. I've come to find that the best pastrami in Los Angeles is being served at places Johnny's in West Adams or on special at BBQ places, and usually at 2/3's the price. When it comes to Nate & Al's, I wouldn't say never go, but I wouldn't expect much bang for your buck -- or in the case of the pastrami sandwich, your 27-bucks.

This cool dim lit, artsy food hub isn't just any burger joint and deli, with some of my favorite guilty pleasure plant-based options. It's a sports bar, a late night haunt, a fun meet up, a lunch spot, a old fav in a newer space that's thriving in all the best ways. The Impossible Double Smash here was almost exactly the way I get it at my go to locations in Encino and Glendale. The service is super solid. They have a few beers on tap, slushie/blended cocktails and a solid selection for standard well drinks. You can enjoy an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages via their Coca-Cola freestyle machine or those iconic Fat Shake's, including possibly one of the best dairy-free versions you'll ever have. Thoughtful fries, tots and sides and an extensive digital menu that's available right next to the register. During the day it's a little more restaurant bar in feels, and typically busy with a great patio space and doors that open up to give it an open air tricked out garage meets lounge vibe. Have passed by a few times, typically one my way to work, but had time to actually dine in and really enjoyed my food and the ambiance. Tons of flat screens with various ongoings, music on the intercom. Place is fairly clean with all black decor and walls graced with great art. Located by the corner of Lexington and Highland with street, meter or garage parking available. Gender-neutral restrooms Great place for groups. Good bar seating as well as main space tall tables, booths and even a small lounge. Open 11 AM - 3 AM, every, single, day.
