We were a group of four ladies heading out for a golf day when our car suddenly broke down, overheated, and started smoking. Total nightmare... until MechaMedix showed up. He arrived quickly, diagnosed the water pump issue right away, and handled everything start to finish. He even went to get the parts and came back to fix it on the spot. The best part? The car was completely fixed by the time we were on the fourth hole! We were so impressed. He truly saved our day. 10/10 would recommend (and hopefully won't need again ). read more

MechaMedix came through for us big time last Sunday afternoon after our car unexpectedly broke down on the I-5 and had to be towed out to a nearby public parking lot by AAA the night prior. Upon arrival, Daniel was lightning quick to assess and diagnose the issue and had our malfunctioning car parts repaired and replaced all within 30 minutes flat. If you find yourself in need of roadside or mobile mechanic services in a tight pinch like we did, MechaMedix is the only local business you should call for help. They are my trusted provider of prompt, affordable, high quality work now. read more

If your car or RV ever breaks down in the Bakersfield area, you're better off just abandoning it than calling Shayne and his team over at MechaMedix. These guys are an untrustworthy bunch. Daniel who works there cleaned out my loose change in my center console. If he really needed the $3.65 that badly, I would have just given it to him. But that kind of behavior starts at the top with Shayne. So who knows what else these guys ripped me off for. 100% untrustworthy. Pass. Pass. Pass. You've been warned. read more

We recently had the front wheel bearings replaced on our 2018 Nissan Kicks SR. The mechanic was very responsive from the start--he diagnosed the issue quickly and completed the repair within a couple of days. However, when the car was returned, several warning lights appeared that hadn't been on before: ABS, traction control, collision sensor, low tire pressure, and check engine. He suspected an ABS sensor issue and even replaced one, but the lights remained. After trying to troubleshoot further, he ultimately recommended taking the car to Nissan since he wasn't certain what was causing the errors. While this was concerning, especially because the lights weren't present prior to the repair, I genuinely appreciated the effort he put into trying to resolve it. He communicated clearly, worked quickly, and was respectful throughout the process. Unfortunately, the issue just couldn't be fully resolved here, which is the only reason I'm giving a 3-star review. Overall, he seems like a good and honest mechanic, and I don't think most people will be disappointed--I just happened to run into an unlucky situation this time. read more

We were at Seven Oaks Golf Course when our car suddenly overheated, lost power steering, and started smoking. Not exactly how you want to start a golf day We called MechaMedix and he showed up in about 20 minutes. He diagnosed the issue right away as a failed water pump, went to get the parts, and came back to fix everything on-site. The entire process was incredibly smooth and way faster than we expected. What really stood out was how calm, professional, and efficient he was. He completely turned a stressful situation into something manageable. By the time we were on the fourth hole, the car was already fixed. If you ever find yourself stuck and need a mobile mechanic, I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Truly impressive service. read more

First review March 2024 - The company owner Shayne replied to me in minutes on a Saturday night and came out first thing the next day to handle an issue with my car. I was super impressed with how fast and efficient the service was. Shayne was super friendly and answered all of my questions. Cost was more than reasonable, I highly recommend Mechamedix! Thanks Shayne! Update August 2025 - Mechamedix is still the best mechanic in Orange County! Someone tried to break in to my car and took the lock cylinder, and I called Shayne and he was instantly more than willing to help me. One of his mechanics James showed up at my apartment the same day - he was very kind and knowledgable and he had the issue resolved in minutes. It is hard to find such great people who go out of their way to help as quickly and efficiently as they can without overcharging. I'll only trust Mechamedix with my car problems - these guys are the best around! Thanks James and Shayne for always saving the day! read more

RV was seriously overheating. Friday night in the I-5. Limped into our RV campsite. Tried to find the cause ourselves with no luck. Called these great guys for their mobile service. They called back within an hour to have us submit information then booked us on Sunday as soon as possible. Reasonable price for Sunday and had us repaired very quickly while showing us the issue. We drove 400 miles through the Mojave on tgst repair. Thank you Daniel. Well done' read more

Really awesome and prompt service. The owner came out on a Sunday evening when all other mechanics were closed. We had violent shaking start up in our car while driving on the I-5. They met us at a gas station and identified a big bubble in one of our tires that caused the shaking and changed it out for us. They were super prompt and test drove the car before and after the service. They also texted us after we hit the road to make sure we were doing okay. Very thankful they helped us out and saved us from spending a night in a seedy motel. Thank you!! read more

I live in an RV full time , both of my air units went out simultaneously, not a good thing in this heat wave we're having. It took almost 1.5 months to get both units in stock from Coleman, each came in at different times due to the high demand of it, but MechaMedix was so flexible to work with and willing to come out when they became available and didn't charge any extra for the multiple times they hard to come out because it this. Thank you so much for making this as pleasant as it could be during this extreme heat. I would recommend this company for any RV'ers out there. And didn't over charge read more

James came out to jump my U-Haul battery that died at a truck stop. He was quick, nice, and courteous. Even did me a favor by giving me gas. A1 customer service! Thanks a lot to James and Shane. read more

Easiest 5 star rating ever. We called MechaMedix at 5pm on a Friday when our Duramax would not start in a shopping mall parking lot. We were towing a trailer while passing through on a camping trip - not a fun situation. To our surprise they not only picked up the phone immediately (on a Friday ... at 5pm!) but they were at our location in 30 minutes. The fix was hard to find but turned out to be incredibly simple. These guys were tenacious and super friendly. They saved our camping trip and untold hassles with having the truck and trailer towed somewhere for service. Thanks guys. read more

Shayne is such a reliable solid guy, he communicates well, is priced less expensive than most the competition. And does high quality work that unlike most mechanics he actually stands behind. read more

Well the driver picked up our Uhaul truck on a main street and pulled it off to a side street. The driver decided to cut my lock on the Uhaul truck and begin to go thru my belongings. I have a video of him going thru my belongings in the Uhaul truck and a video of my stuff he was stealing in the cab of his tow truck. I contacted Uhaul and the privately contracted tow truck company should have never cut the lock or went in my belongings, they are not Uhaul employees. The tow truck company got a call for a tow not to take inventory or cut a lock. I contacted the owner of the Tow company regarding his employees stealing from me and he was acting like I was the thief, instead of the victim of theft. He seemed to be bothered that I was looking for a resolution. Now I'm waiting on a call back from the owner read more

My 2014 SS sedan threw an O2 sensor code. I changed the O2 sensor, code did not go away. I took it to a couple of shops who confirmed the O2 sensor was good but couldn't figure out why it was throwing the check engine light. I called mechamedix and Shayne told me there was a good chance he could figure it out. I met up with him. He pulled out some wiring diagram on his scanner and a volt meter. Basically checked places along the engine harness to see what was and was not getting power. I kid you not, after about 20 minutes he starts peeling back the tape on the wiring harness (intake manifold was off at this point) passenger side by the injectors along the fuel rail. The factory wire had disconnected. He soldered it back together, wrapped up the harness and the check light for the O2 sensor has not come back on for months. I consider myself a car guy. I woulda never figured this one out. Very impressed with this company. Great price too. read more

After being told several different times by AAA & other towing companies "someone" would be out to tow our RV (and cost us upwards of $700 just to be towed!!) - AND waiting almost 12 hours on the side of I-5 - we finally hooked up with Sean, the owner of Mecha Medix!! OMGoodness! He was our knight in shining armor! Within a couple of hours (with lots of communication as to where he was) Sean showed up in his shiny Red Rescue vehicle! He was polite, knowledgeable and actually, kind of funny - it helps to laugh after being stranded for almost 12 hours! He looked at our engine, checked some things and had us fixed and on the road within MINUTES - For LESS than $400!!!! Let me explain - we are two senior ladies - traveling to Oregon - and Sean could have taken full advantage of us - I mean what choice did we have?? But, he was so professional, thorough & thoughtful - not only were we back on our journey in record time - but we made it to our destination (Winston, OR) with NO MORE PROBLEMS!! Yahooo! read more

MechaMedix - Stranded on the I-5 - waiting for help! - RV Repair Near Me - Bakersfield, California

We have a 40 foot diesel pusher motorhome that broke down in Bakersfield CA. I looked at reviews of MechaMedix and decided to call for help. They responded quickly and began the diagnostic process. The technician decided that it could not be repaired in the field. I had it towed to Quinn Catapillar. I was very pleased with MechaMedix and would highly recommend them. read more

I had Shayne from MechaMedix help me out with my boat located in Newport Beach. He arrived promptly at our designated appointment time and place. Pathetic excuse of a car repair/mechanic. Confirmed appointment, drove an hour and half to help friend, and then he cancelled. When asked for cost and print out of diagnostic to be done, could not provide. Scam artist. Unprofessional and disrespectful. No show and didn't even respect the customer enough to call and communicate need to reschedule. Find another person to work on your car. He's just out to rip people off. Blessings and Gratitude. read more

We were 2-hrs into a 3 week RV trip when our RV broke down in Bakersfield. After waiting all night for a tow truck that didn't show, these guys came to the rescue. Shane took our call at 7am on Saturday, talked us through what to do, and he and Asher spent over 6-hrs in the 100+ degree heat replacing a bad fuel pump on our RV so we could get back on the road. I can't thank them enough for saving our bacon! They really know what they are doing, were communicative through the whole process, and charged us a reasonable price. I was in need of repair for my truck since my starter went out. The towing services mechanic told me after trying to start my truck by attempting to give my vehicle a jump. I Googled traveling auto mechanics and came across this repair shop. I contacted the business on Friday, September 10, 2021, and the guy on the other end stated he would hang up and for me to call back so the shop would answer the call. I called back and spoke with Elizabeth. I asked for a price to repair my starter and when could they get there since they are open 24-hours. Elizabeth stated a mechanic could come out on Saturday for the repair. Elizabeth quoted me the labor and said she needed to research the cost of the part and would contact me Saturday, September 12, 2021, at 9 AM. I waited for a little after 9 AM and contacted the business. I spoke with Elizabeth and was told the mechanic could repair my truck at 5 PM. I agreed and waited on the mechanic to show up. It neared 5 PM and the mechanic called and stated he was at my truck and asked if I had the part. I told the mechanic he was supposed to come with the part. The mechanic stated he had to go to Autozone to pick up the part, he mentioned it would take him one 1-hour to return. I could not understand that when Autozone was literally about 10 minutes away. The mechanic returned a little earlier than 1-hour. I went out to meet the mechanic so he could start the repair. There happened to be a burgundy car sitting in the parking lot with a man and a woman, I realized they were with the mechanic. I am extremely analytical and I observe all people. The mechanic told me the price of the part was $238.00 and he would have to adjust the repair cost. I asked for the receipt. The mechanic went to his truck and allegedly looked for the receipt and stated they did not give him a receipt. I asked for the name of the part and noticed the box sitting in the back of his truck. I retrieved model number #77937 and looked up the part on Autozone.com and saw the price of the part which was $169.99. Elizabeth quoted me the price of the part which matched up. The mechanic stated he needed to contact his partner to see about honoring the price. He returned after stepping away about a foot and said he would honor the price and repair the truck. He also mentioned how they are a 5-star business. I told him I would like 5-star service so I could give 5-stars. The mechanic used his jack and raised up my truck to get to the starter. I stayed with my truck since I did not know the mechanic and I wanted to make sure the part was replaced. The mechanic removed some bolts and the oil pan cover. He then mentioned he was unable to finish the job since he did not have all the proper tools he needed to complete the job. I thought that odd since they are supposed to be a professional traveling repair service. The mechanic told me he would return Sunday morning September 12, 2021, at 9:30 AM and I requested the return be at least 9 AM since I expected the repair to be completed Saturday, September 11, 2021. I put the bolts away and the oil pan cover. Sunday morning came and I waited for a little after 9 AM to contact the mechanic to get an ETA. The mechanic did not answer and I left a voice message. It is Monday, September 14, 2021, and I have not heard from the mechanic. I have since scheduled another mechanic to repair my truck. The stars for the business are questionable since their behavior does not match up with the stars. I would not recommend this business. They are unprofessional and do not communicate and do not keep their word. I felt their plan was to try and scam me out of additional money. I say that since I requested a receipt he did not know he received it after leaving the shop less than an hour ago and wanting to increase the price of the job. This is my experience, and everyone's experience is and will be different. read more

My daughter and I were on our way to San Diego from San Jose on Saturday 1/8/22. We stopped in Bakersfield to get gas and had a major hiccup with our car and could not continue our drive until we had it looked at and evaluated. MechaMedix was THE ONLY mechanic open and available. I called Shayne (MechaMedix) and he was upfront and direct about his timing and cost, and we engaged his services. We texted a few times to confirm our location and he was extremely responsive. I had confidence in him from the very start which was important because my daughter and I were in an unfamiliar city, three hours away from our home and four hours away from our destination. Once Shayne arrived, and btw, he texted when he was on his way and arrived almost an hour earlier than expected, he was prepared, knowledgeable, and informative. He put us at ease and explained everything he did in a way we could understand. Once he figured out the issue, he drove our car to ensure the issue had been resolved all the while using his diagnostic system to make certain the car was running properly. He gave us the confidence we needed to get on the Grapevine and finish our drive to San Diego. He checked in on us three times after we left Bakersfield to make sure our car was running properly and we were okay. He went over and above the call of duty and did not stop checking in on us until we reached our destination. I highly recommend MechMedix. Shayne is amazing! read more
