We just moved into Durham a few months ago and didn't realize most owners had their cats reserved 3-4 months in advance before the holidays for the usual tall rooms. My husband and I were desperate due to flight plans (& we wanted a cat only kennel) and they squeezed our 9 month kitten into their lobby 1 month before. They made her (and us) feel such a VIC (very important cat)/VIP, we were so grateful she ended up as being their last minute office cat for the 7 days we were gone. They were very meticulous to make sure the doors were locked if she was outside of her kennel. Misu girl was so spoiled, received so many head pets (with bonus daily pics and/or videos), and we absolutely would not hesitate to bring her back to the Laid Back Cat next time we need to go out of town. It's sad to see this happen because the folks who work there really are excellent! We boarded two dogs and when we picked them up it seems the rate has effectively doubled. That was unexpected. We boarded the same two dogs for the same period of time in April and it was $380. This time it was $794. To add insult to injury, the person at the desk billed us twice. Clerical errors happen, but it's how we respond to them that matter and in my case getting help in the form of a refund has been a colossal headache. They advised us not to worry as it would be refunded. It's now three days later and no refund. Our account has been overdrawn and we've been told to "just wait" for a refund. After being billed an extra $800 leading to an account overdraw, "just wait" is an unacceptable resolution. I run a small business. If we overcharged a customer to the tune of $800 and overdrawing their account, one of my guys would be in a truck heading to that person's house with a check and an apology. Been coming here for years - sadly will be taking business elsewhere going forward. To me it's quite telling that all the recent reviews are one star. Sad to see and it pains me to contribute to that.

Top dog has made a huge, positive difference in our lives. At other daycares, I found he was picking up naughty behaviors and becoming more high strung. But the structure, training reinforcement, and stimulating environment that top dog provides has helped him become more obedient and happy. The trainers have really been a god send and we haven't even started doing individual training or the boarding program (yet!). Galileo's manners have improved just from being at day school. I drive 20 minutes out of my way every day because we just love it that much (40 minutes/day)! Thanks top dog for all you do for us!
