My dog had a good stay with them and will be going back. The price was reasonable. Will be going back soon.

This place used to be wonderful but it seems the new management has really changed - unfortunately in the wrong direction. It's sad to see this happen because the folks who work there really are excellent! We boarded two dogs and when we picked them up it seems the rate has effectively doubled. That was unexpected. We boarded the same two dogs for the same period of time in April and it was $380. This time it was $794. To add insult to injury, the person at the desk billed us twice. Clerical errors happen, but it's how we respond to them that matter and in my case getting help in the form of a refund has been a colossal headache. They advised us not to worry as it would be refunded. It's now three days later and no refund. Our account has been overdrawn and we've been told to "just wait" for a refund. After being billed an extra $800 leading to an account overdraw, "just wait" is an unacceptable resolution. I run a small business. If we overcharged a customer to the tune of $800 and overdrawing their account, one of my guys would be in a truck heading to that person's house with a check and an apology. Been coming here for years - sadly will be taking business elsewhere going forward. To me it's quite telling that all the recent reviews are one star. Sad to see and it pains me to contribute to that. read more

I have been taking my dog to Ultimate Canine Care for years. I started going because they came highly recommended by a coworker who had a senior dog that did not tolerate grooming and Mike went out of the way and came to her house and with coordination groomed her dog. I have 2 Yorkers, one who is terrified of grooming and the other a senior dog with bad joints. Up until the this last year whenever the groomer Christine would groom my senior dog she would always comment that it stresses him out. Other groomers at the facility have stated that he does fine, they give him breaks and one will hold while the other cuts toenails. Today as I brought my dogs in for their grooming appointment the first thing out Christine's mouth was "here comes trouble". Very unprofessional!!! Then I get a call from them that they were ready for pick up and that my senior dog can't come back cause he was struggling to stand up. The dog is 15 years old and has bad joints. She proceeded to get into an argument with me when I went to pick up my dog and wouldn't allow the owner of the facility to speak to me directly. I am very surprised and disappointed in this facility. It would seem that unless your dog is a perfect angel and young they will not provide service. But, as a longtime and loyal customer to be treated with such disrespect by a groomer and then for the owner to not even follow up is absolutely unacceptable!! They clearly should fire Christine, she has no idea how to treat or handle senior dogs and her behavior towards customers is disgusting. read more

Would give a -0- if it were available. I had our rabbit boarded at this facility thinking they were safe in the closed supposedly secured room and got a call while on vacation that he was killed by a dog. I have used them for 2 years now and very upset that this happened. If they cannot guarantee safety for small animal then they should not boast on their website they have a "secure" room for small animals when they didnt for my rabbit. read more

We have been taking our family member to Mike's since he was a puppy, and he is now 8 years old. We have nothing but praise for Ultimate Canine. Not only do we have our pet groomed on a regular basis, we have boarded as well and been extremely satisfied. Our baby gets groomed, gets to play, and is spoiled by the staff. Due to the long drive we have, we did try another groomer, and was so unhappy. Horrible grooming, and a very sad puppy. Last time we will ever take him elsewhere. As far as we are concerned, you can't get any better than Mike, his staff, and Ultimate Canine Care. read more

They are the BEST. One of my dogs is special needs and they always go above and beyond. They are friendly- everything is easy and organized. My boys come home happy and healthy. This was my first time ever boarding my dogs and it was very hard for me to do so. I heard many great things about this place and I decided to go with them. I had a last minute emergency and needed and extra day and I didn't have any issues with them staying an extra day. They called me first thing Monday and had told me my dogs got dirty and they gave them a bath so to pick them up a little later. I was very glad they were courteous enough to do that and not let me pick up dirty dogs. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! It's super nice! read more

Boarded our two dogs for the (4 day) Labor Day weekend. First time at this kennel which was recommended by our veterinarian. Was also the first time that our youngest dog had ever been boarded anywhere. We were told that we could call "anytime" to check on our girls. Of course, we realized that anytime meant during business hours. Over our 4 day weekend away, the first in many years due to work demands, we called 5 different times. No answer. Left messages on the machine requesting call back, which was never received. Out of concern about our pets' welfare and wondering if anyone working at the business was even at the facility to care for the boarded guests over the holiday weekend, we cut our vacation short and returned home. Upon expressing our displeasure regarding the service received, we were given excuses, not an apology. We were told that they were "too busy" (to make a phone call??). After our dogs were returned to us and the bill was paid, one of the three woman made a snarky comment to my wife as we were leaving. I will never entrust the care of our pets, our family members, with this business again. Further, we have requested and received our pets' records from the veterinarian who recommended this business. If the vet considers Ultimate Canine Care worthy of their recommendation, we question their judgement. read more

We've boarded Lucy and Taffy at Ultimate Canine Care 4 times over the last 3 years. They come back to us happy and healthy and don't seem to mind being left with the nice folks who run the kennel. We also have the girls groomed at Ultimate Canine. Neither of them requires much complicated clipping, but they always come out looking like they're supposed to which wasn't always the case at a couple of the places we've had them groomed in the past. I think Ultimate Canine Care truly likes the critters they care for and that's a pretty high recommendation. read more

Took our dog there for the first time over thanksgiving (what has to be one of the busiest times) and they took great care of her. Being able to have her own space that she could go inside and outside was great and probably even better than home (where she has to wait for someone to open the door). They played with her twice a day, bathed her, and did a great job on her nails! They did such a great job we will probably have her regular groomed her. The times for pickup on weekends and drop offs on weekdays worked well with working and traveling. At least when we called it was easy to get a reservation even when other boarders were all full. read more

They are amazing! I rescued a dog at last minutes notice and needed a safe place just for one day while I worked. I didn't know much about the dogs temperament except I knew he was great with my dog and 3 children. Every where else I called wouldn't even give me time of day without a temperament test. I wasn't too worried about him being around other dogs; however, I did let them know I wasn't 100% sure. I called, and they said to bring him on in and they would see how he did. They took such amazing care of my baby Duke and I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you so much! read more

The Humane Society of Alamance County (an animal welfare agency) is well aware of how important it is to find local businesses and organizations that are willing to extend a hand to our rescue when necessary. We are so fortunate to call Ultimate Canine Care and its staff our friends. Not only do they board our pets when foster homes are difficult to find, but they provide their grooming services to them as well and do so with the utmost care and kindness. Mike and his staff have always gone above and beyond for our animals and we couldn't be more grateful to them. Their facility is clean and well kept, their team friendly, thorough and welcoming. Every animal, whether there to be groomed, boarded or for a fun filled day of doggie day care, is showered with affection and treated like family.
