COVID meant that every single other office, both in my vicinity and further away, only allowed parking lot pick-up for an exam. Uh...no. Let's just say things were waaaay more involved than I or the doctor imagined, but the medical care was truly top notch, and I'd recommend them to anyone else in a NY minute! Dr. Borgman was extremely thorough, and called to let me know how they were doing during the cleaning, which is really helpful for any nervous fur-mom. When I came in later, he also gave me an in depth explanation of their procedures, which I really appreciated. I've been a pet guardian for years, so I've experienced several vets, and this is a REALLY, REALLY good vet's office, folks.

Until several years ago when new inexterienced Vets arrived. One their new vets Miranda Lemyre had been giving my small dog physicals. She made no effort to find a way to look at his teeth. My husband did not insist. Shane lost most of his teeth and Dr Lemyre's behavior was awful when I called for help. I had to have Dr. Coates take over his care for pain management and SubQ fluids when he would not drink and moaned for 2 days. Dr Sims is someone I never want to see again, ever. Her way of treating me after the incident with my dogs tooth extraction and my complaint about Dr Lemyre was very unprofessional. She gave me a rough "hug" stating that just because Dr Lemyre was not warm and fuzzy (paraphrasing) didn't mean she wasn't a good vet and that small dogs loose their teeth. Our other small dog was given dental care early and has lost a few teeth only. The way Dr Sims euthanized one of our other dogs was awful, horrific. I have other things I could say about her but don't have the space. In general we now have Lap of Love come to our home when that awful time comes. It's night and day difference than it ever was at N Elm. I had confidence in Dr Parsons and Dr Reyes that was misplaced. I had a cat that we rescued from the shelter. She developed a rare horrible condition that was almost impossible to treat and we made the awful decision to euthanize her. I have since did the research and found success stories in treatment. we should have taken her to a specialist but listened to Dr Parson's instead. When I told Dr Parsons that we adopted another shelter cat she literally turned around and stood in the corner of the room for a few minutes. I was told we had terrible luck with cats. I'm 72 years old and have had cats all my life that have lived to old age. I felt insulted. There's more to that story but I will stop here. N Elm Animal Hospital is very expensive, much more expensive than the practice I now go to for my vet care. Lawndale Vet Hosp has been great, a medication my dog is on costs $30 less at Lawndale than N Elm.

This would be her first time to a facility to groom. She was a little nervous and scared. I said it's okay, as she pushed towards the door. The woman running the grooming section scolding me and said, no you do not say it's okay, because it's not okay. Sorry to correct you but our trainers would say the same thing. I was trying to comfort a panicked puppy. I did not mean her behavior was okay, but that she would be okay. Our puppy is obviously still in training and this is not our first puppy. This was our first time ever having a dog groomed, first impressions and actions are important. I found it unprofessional and insulting the way she spoke to me. She did a nice job with the grooming, but I would not recommend this particular place to anyone with a puppy, young dog or first time grooming. I do not feel it is right to insult customers and treat them like trash the moment they walk in the door. UPDATE: As you can see from the owner's response. They obviously DO NOT care about their customers'. I did NOT react negatively, nor was I reinforcing fearful behavior. We have had many dogs and have them professionally trained. We understand the do's and don't of training dogs. As an owner of several businesses myself for over 25 years, this is not the way you treat customers. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. If it had not been for the fact that we had a scheduled appointment that was scheduled weeks out, I would have walked right out of the door. Very rude to speak to customers this way! Misinformation. Unreliable vets who do not follow up or follow through. Should have changed locations a year ago. My dog has a history of UTIs and been treated at this office for 3 years now since moving to Whitsett. Brough her in about 3 weeks ago for treatment and was diagnosed with UTI and prescribed antibiotics. About two weeks post treatment she now has blood in urine and in pain. Called at 7:30am on 8/5 and earliest they could see my dog was 2PM on 8/6. Received call at 10:45AM day of that they had two vets and an office manager call out sick and could not see my dog. Offered for me to bring in urine sample. In the past I was told that was not possible for my convenience (because they want the office visit fee/revenue) and would have to come in person. Today they are willing to bend rules to meet their needs. Received another call they would not be able to prescribe meds even if I bring in sample because they diagnosed my dog with bladder cancer summer of 2025, and my dog needs to be under treatment of a cancer specialist. MISINFORMATION!!!!!! My dog has since seen an internal specialist in Winston Salem multiple times in addition to Stony Creek who has since dispensed medicine for my dog. Placed on hold and the return response was then "well, the attending vet has no doctor relationship with your dog and cannot prescribe meds and we will not make accommodations to see her today." Once again, this place is understaffed and unable to manage their patient volume as has been the case for a long time. I have spent incredible amounts of money for both my animals at this vet and opt in to every diagnostic tool and treatment they have suggested in the past sparing no expense. Would appreciate loyalty and somewhat adequate care in return. DO BETTER STONEY CREEK VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!!!
