This place used to be good but not anymore for me. I called in one time to cancel an appointment as…read moremy husband really needed to stop for gas before getting to the clinic so will be a few minutes late. We were fined $50 for this. Another time I was told to reschedule after I said that we were just 5 minutes away from the clinic. We live in another town, in the past driving all the way here was ok as Dr Rooney was kind. I haven't seen him recently though. In a recent appointment too, the dentist didn't want to take an alternative approach or improvise. She kept trying to fit something that was too big for my child's mouth. In the end we decided to move to a clinic nearer to our home.

Incredible staff and office from the front desk to the assisting medical staff…read more Dr. Shapiro was patient and kind and offered us quality time (did not feel rushed) by answering all of our questions. My daughter asked: why are you naming some of my teeth numbers and others letters? Dr. Shapiro kindly answerd "Letters are the baby teeth you still have and numbers are your grown up teeth" Even when we had differing opinions on care planning for my daughter's teeth she was respectful and understanding of my views. They also included my daughter in the care and planning of her dental care by offering choices of toothpastes like Bugglegum, Apple, Orange, and grape. They have a ceiling television with programs catered to children. The office is super clean and absolutely adorable. My daughter loved the practice.

I would not recommend at all!!!! I bring my daughter here because she has anxiety and she can't go…read moreto a general dentist! They can't get her to open up and do a dental cleaning and X-rays. I am a dental assistant for over 25 yrs and I am able to get X-rays on my daughter no problem. So I took them 6 months ago and emailed them several times to the dentist for them to look at them and get back to me about treatment she might need due to her having to be sedated. Never heard back from them. Then I took her in recently to get her cleaning and again they couldn't get her to open again and I asked them about the X-rays that I had sent and they looked up the email and pulled it up the office manager and dentist reviewed but didn't talk to me and left me sitting in the waiting room for a good 15 mins. When I got annoyed and took my girls and left.

They used both Laughing gas and general anesthesia for cavity treatment…read more When you go for general check-up and find cavity, Normally a doctor would have discussed course of procedure they going to perform. like what kind of anesthesia they going use, what kind of filling n all. But nothing was discussed. Right before our appointment to treat cavity, we got a text msg to sign the laughing gas consent or else the appointment's will be canceled .This an hour or 2 before our appointment. Most of the first time parents don't know what anesthesia is used on kids. we thought it is just a consent for using anesthesia which is obviously required for cavity treatment, we gave it without reading it. in the fine print it is written that they gave many option for anesthesia and we chose Laughing Gas at the cost of 70$ out of pocket. According to consent they didn't gave us any option. Also my husband was there for cavity treatments, when he found they use 2 kind of anesthesia obviously any parents will get furious. Instead of accepting there communication issue they bared both of my kids to visit any of there center. Its fine i can always look for a new doctor. But the way they treated us and kids is very unfair.

My last visit with Dr Spielman has plagued me for the last several months. He didn't even look…read moreinto my mouth this time. I had my cleaning and he came in, looked at x-rays from the year before and asked if I had any concerns, which I did not. He said OK! Have a great year. I thought this was strange. I've been mulling it over. I realized my decision was made a long time ago, when I broke a filling over the weekend and never once considered going back to this office. I'm currently waiting for my appointment, with another dentist. Here's hoping this one is as good as the recommender said. Dr S is perfectly nice. My first experience was great. The second, he didn't even stand close enough to see my teeth from a far. Too busy? Over booked? Doesn't matter. Just not for me.

I've been going to Dr. Spielman for years now, and only have positive things to say about him and…read morehis staff. When I first moved into the area, a friend recommended him, and I have been doing the same ever since. The practice does both adult and pediatric dentistry, and they are really, REALLY good with the youngsters as my son will attest to. Not only is he a proficient and caring dentist, his office is particularly adept at making sure your insurance covers the maximum amount possible. They certainly won't lie on your paperwork, but they are very good at knowing what individual policies do and do not cover, how much they'll cover, and how to code treatments in such a way as to protect your checkbook as much as possible. His practice seems much more patient driven than profit driven. I had a co-worker from PA chip a tooth at work a few years back. He was quite a drive from his dentist and in tremendous pain. I suggested he call Dr. Spielman. He had him in the office within the hour, and told him to pay him whenever he had the chance. Stories like this combined with excellent care feom the whole staff are why my whole family use Dr. Spielman as our dentist.

The practice is also very good about COVID protocols, including air filters in each exam room, doctors wearing N95s (admin staff in surgical masks) and texting you when it's time to come in so you can wait in the car. Everything is clean, they have state of the art equipment and decor is relaxing.

I grew up in Plainsboro and moved to New York a few years back. I've seen a few different dentists…read moreover the years, and was recently told I had 3 cavities to be filled. I'd never had a cavity filled and was nervous, plus I'd had some not-so-great experiences with my previous dentist. My mom had mentioned that she goes to Smile Society and has had a great experience thus far. I called Smile Society and they were able to schedule me for 2 visits in the span of 4 days - 1 for an exam & 1 for the fillings. During my exam, they took detailed photos of my teeth & the cavities they saw. Dr. Singh pulled the photos up on a TV screen to show me exactly what we were looking at & formulate a plan for fillings. It helped me understand where issues were and what needed immediate attention. After my exam, they noted that I had an additional cleaning available through my insurance if I wanted to use it - and I did! I appreciated them pointing that out to me, otherwise I wouldn't have known. I was nervous about having cavities filled since I've never experienced it before. Dr. Singh answered all my questions, put my mind at ease, and I was in & out quickly. My cavities were small, so they didn't need to numb me with a needle. The procedure was PAINLESS! I booked my 6-month follow-up immediately. I'll absolutely come down from NYC to Smile Society for future dental work. The staff is welcoming, kind, and make you feel at ease. Cannot recommend more.
