I stopped at this welcome center during my drive to Michigan. It is a very nice center that is staffed and has a plethora of information on Michigan and activities/events in the surrounding area. The facility, especially the restroom, was neat and clean. This rest stop doubles as a Michigan park. Outside you will find plenty of parking, park benches for resting, tables and grills for a cook out and a fenced in playground for the young ones. It gave me the feeling that this is a safe and cool place to hang out on a day with beautiful weather. I'm glad that I got the opportunity to stop here and check it out. I would definitely stop again if my travels should lead me that way.

Large playground with new equipment for the kids to run extra energy off!

This is probably the best rest stop I've ever been too. They have a large selection of maps, handouts, flyers, pamphlets and magazines for just about every town in Michigan. There is also display cases of numerous items from different parts of the state. They have a selfie corner with several props for kids and adults to choose from. There were employees who would come over when they saw a couple taking pictures of each other and offered to take pictures for us and others. They have several vending machines with everything from ice cream to candy bars. Numerous types of drinks, coffee, hot cocoa and even cappuccino. Outside is a large playground for the kids to get out play. There are swings for toddlers and bigger kids. It's all new equipment and you can tell they really keep it clean & updated.

And this rest stop has a pay phone in it! How long has it been since you've seen a pay phone anywhere?
