Hiring an attorney is difficult when you have no experience in the legal field. Mark Kimball marketed his firm as experts in our type of case. In January 2021 we hired them. He assigned Alex Larkin and himself to handle our case. My wife and I have been long retired and live on a modest retirement, we discussed with Mr. Kimball what money we had basically our live savings. We are now 21 months in and this firm has doubled billed, changed strategies that cost us time and money, told us just hang in there it shouldn't take much longer. We followed their recommendations even when we disagree, fearing that they would withdrawal. We began to feel stuck as our savings were decreasing. We believe a lot of things they did weren't because the case demanded it but was done to bill more hours. The invoices are very confusing and we have asked for clarification many times. We wanted to file to go to court and have a judge determine the outcome Mr. Kimball recommenced not to but go to arbitration, we went and the opposing lawyers representing the insurance companies agreed to repair our problem. Again our attorneys recommended not to because of one party involved was taking no responsibility. Next our attorneys filed for summary judgement, Mark Kimball wasn't prepared in court and could not answer the judges questions. He just sat there like a deer in the headlights. The outcome wasn't good and the judge indicated the case would have to go to trial. What we wanted to do long ago. For his preparation to go to summary judgement he billed us $28,000 and the following month another $22,000. We have already paid them approximately $60,000 and owe them another $60,000. I told them long ago we are almost out of money. Yesterday we received a letter demanding payment and their intent to withdrawal from our case. To repair our problem is approximately $74,000. We feel Mark Kimball and Alex Larkin took advantage of us and ruined our retirement. We believe the attorneys acted unprofessional and did not give our case due care. I hired this firm to complete a medical practice acquisition contract. I had a Zoom meeting with the primary lawyer in late June 2023. He expressed to me they are well experienced in Medical law and could complete this contract in 3-4 weeks. As weeks went by, my business partner and the selling party, along with respective lawyers, were getting very frustrated with the lack of communication from MDK law and the slow progress of the contract. Remember they quotes me 3-4 weeks to complete the contract in late June 2023 and per their own billing statement, the first time they contact the other party's lawyer was on 08/09/23. I would email them with questions, ask for updates and my emails would be ignored. 2-3 weeks later they would send me an email, clearly having not read my emails, as my questions would remain unanswered. I paid the first bill in the amount of $1,665. This acquisition contract was holding up all other aspects of the new practice we were building including our credentialing, lease agreement and banking. I kept asking for updates and again incomplete replies 2 weeks later. They filed PLLC paperwork 2 months after I hired them, 4 weeks after quoted initial timeline, and they spelled my partner's name wrong on the official paperwork. I was charged $1,195 for that filing. Finally the selling party and their lawyer were very frustrated and contacted me on Sept 1st and gave us a deadline of Sept 8th to complete the purchasing agreement. I immediately emailed MDK Law and expressed the urgency of the matter and even called and spoke to their paralegal on the next business day. Later afternoon Sept 8th, they sent me an incomplete rough draft. It was too late to complete the transaction by end of business day on Sept 8th. They sent me an additional bill of $4,471. I emailed them expressing my frustration with their poor/delayed communication, our contract falling through and their overall unprofessionalism. They took no responsibility for missing their own deadline by 6+ weeks, accused me of inaccuracies and threated me by letting me know they will send me to collections if I don't pay the remaining of the bill. I have paid the final bill for a total of $6,136. For that I got an incorrectly filed PLLC with WA state, no purchasing agreement, poor communication and unprofessionalism. Lastly our main competitor, who is also a client of their, reached out to the selling party in the middle of this transaction. The selling party of course was not happy about this. Save yourself the time, headache and money; find an alternative law firm that values its clients, their time, business and money. read more

I hired MDK for a complex minority shareholder case, more difficult being that involved my immediate family. I found Mark Kimball via a referral from a local general practice attorney I used in the Seattle area for real estate law. My initial call was probably a little emotional. Mark and his brilliant staff including Courtney Bhatt, immediately calmed me down and helped me break down the case organize it in a way that it can be understood from a legal perspective. Given the complexity, I didn't know where to begin. I was lost in Space (haha). I had no prior litigation or lawsuits and I was up against a firm with high priced attorneys and lots of funds to defend. It was a process that took patients and MDK law got the job done. No stone was ever left unturned to the point where they kept me on my feet, but it worked. When trial came, they had the whole case ready for my day in court that we all worked so hard to get. After a week, not only did Mark and Courtney literally prove each detail in a way that showed my validly to my claims, but inevitably earned me a seven figure settlement the night before the ruling that I was beyond ecstatic about it and willing acceptable even knowing that They had it beat on all cylinders. At that point I felt like not only did I get get the victory, but given the situation I knew justice had been served. The trial was so very emotional and technical given the fact that in the case, it was noted that the contract had ambiguity and was such an important ruling in this matter. It was ruled in a motion along the that ambiguity would be held against the drafter. This was the backbone to our argument. I've read about my case online since the trial ended. college classes, blogs and many other online discussions reference it. I owe a lot of gratitude (probably more than they know as this is my livelihood and future) and I offer my sincere thankfulness to Mark Kimball, Courtney Bhatt and the entire team a MDK Law. This changed my life forever. Though it's not a matter I would wish on any minority shareholder or family, it was done the right way and it ended with a conclusion I still feel proud about.
