****DO NOT TAKE THIS Class, It's a big SCAM**** Dr. Sutton's class called MDI Initiative is a big SCAM! Not only he is pretty rude and he commented on my race and how the people who come from my country act, he is the most unprofessional, disrespectful, unreliable, and untrustworthy person I have ever worked with! He claims that he is a doctor, although he has not even finished his residency, he also tells everyone that he is connected with UT dental school, and is in the medical schools' admissions' committee, which is also a lie! He tells you all these things about how he is going to help you in every step of your application, statements, interviews and everything before you pay him! Well..here is how my story went.. Right after I paid him $1,500, the agreement was we meet the day after and go over my application and get me started in the class! Exactly the night after that payment went through, he stopped replying to my phone calls, text messages, voice mails, and he just vanished from this earth!! I finally started to get replies after 3 weeks, and had 4 set up appointments where I had to get off from work to meet him! I even called and texted him before my appointments to confirm and every time 15 minutes before our meeting time he would cancel, and I was already there!! He kept telling me that he is out of town and his flight got canceled!! I found out through a friend of mine that he was actually in town! I still kept being patient and polite even though he was very rude to me!! I called his secretary many times. A month has passed and I have not received a single meeting, all the books I was promised, Chad's videos subscription, or any application review, or the RECOMMENDATION LETTER HE PROMISES EVERYONE!! and basically nothing!!! Well I paid for nothing! so finally I got my refund through my family lawyer & I am glad I did! This classroom will be closed very soon!! Dishonesty wont get you very far in life!! All these things happened in a middle of my DAT studying time! so if you really want that go ahead and take it! This man does not do anything for you, and all his promises are prior to your payment, right after you pay he disappears! You really do not need this to be successful, I did everything by myself and did amazing on my DAT! This program is a total scam! two other people that I know have gone through the same thing with him recently and ended up submitting their applications very late, lost their money, time and energy for absolutely nothing! He also uses people who do well on their entry exams to teach in his class as instructors, but he does not pay them and lies to his employees too..my friend had to move to Kaplan because he did not pay him for 2 months! He is the most unethical and unprofessional person I have ever met! Do not take this course..if you just need tests and practice, Kaplan will do. Also, he illegally copies Kaplan, Destroyer's and Examcraker material and gives students pdf..which is illegal, the authors of those books are filing a law suit too. I enrolled in the MDI Prep course in April of 2014. I heard some complaints, but when I looked at reviews of other courses I heard complaints about them as well. At this point I knew I needed a prep course and figured I would try my luck at the course that fit my style of learning better. The first day of class Dr. Sutton began asking us questions about testing and where we saw ourselves in 10 years. I thought this was a little different than any other course I have attended. He began to tell us that we could do anything if we put our minds to it. This kind of encouragement made me feel I made the right choice. We were given homework assignments, the class was very engaging and the best part about the entire experience was that Dr. Sutton literally helped me with my personal statement and reviewed my application for medical school. Something unique about this course was that it forces you to think through questions and not depend on the instructor to spoon feed you the answers. This helped me so much when it came to my MCAT in June. I got a 33 on my MCAT and have already received one interview to UT San Antonio Medical School. I would recommend this course to anyone who is serious about medical school and wants to really work with someone who cares about your future. I called Dr. Sutton one night at 9p because I was freaking out one week before my exam. Despite this being late in the evening, he took the time out to help ease my concerns. The Good: I would definitely recommend this course for anyone studying for the NBDE exam. I took this for my NBDE part 1. I took Kaplan and it didn't give me the foundation I needed. What I like most was: (1) The live online classes, the ability to ask the instructor questions, (2) the material was so simple to understand because they used a lot of mnemonics to help me remember things like biochemistry that I had not seen in years, (3) Dr. Sutton is probably one of the best instructors I have ever had. He not only knows the material, but he presents it in a way that sticks, (4) class size is small, there were 8 students in my group which was perfect for discussion. The other good thing was that I was able to interact with other NBDE students from across the U.S. who were taking their exam. We even set up some study groups outside of class that also help. The online learning with MDI Prep really made it convenient for me with my wife working and having to watch my two daughters. The bad: The price was a little costly for me, but after passing my exam I feel like it was worth it. The other instructors are good, but some don't have helpful mnemonics like Dr. Sutton's class. I was highly recommended the MDI Prep course by a close friend who got accepted to medical school. The best advice he gave me as I was applying to medical school was to sign up for the MDI prep course to help me throughout my application process. I took his advice and immediately signed up for the MDI prep course in search for the best possible advice. I know that without a doubt registering for the MDI Prep Course was the best decision and investment I made. Dr. Sutton is the greatest mentor I could have asked for. He was always willing to answer any questions I had in regards to the application process and was always so supportive in my decision to apply to medical school. I was warned that Dr. Sutton and his MDI Prep course was a scam, but being a supporter of black businesses, I attempted to tread the experience on my own. I met Dr Sutton at a Biology seminar at Texas Southern University. He was giving one heck of a motivational speech and going on about MDI Prep. I attempted to speak to him after, but the guy is extremely braggadocios and doesn't seem to care unless he knows you're about to put money in his pockets. The next day I went to the MDI website to get more info on their DAT course and possibly enroll. Everything on their site looks sketchy. Luckily I found a working phone number. Called the number, no answer. Received a call back a couple days later from a Lee Anne..I think that was her name. She couldn't really answer any of my questions and sounded quite flustered with whatever she had going on. I don't really blame her, I'd be flustered with working for MDI as well. It's unfortunate that this company is ran so poorly. I did some research on MDI and found that Dr Sutton has a lengthy history of shady business practices. This course helped my daughter so much in getting into medical school in 2015. She took Kaplan twice and when she finished she was utterly disgusted. They treated her like a number with no personal attention. She came away from there almost wanting to give up on medical school. My co-worker referred me to the MDI Prep course and said that it really helped his daughter overcome her text anxiety and get accepted to UTMB medical school. All I can say, he was right. My daughter went to the MDI Prep program and it was the best decision we have ever made. I do wish we would have known about Dr. Sutton and the program before we spent all the money at Kaplan. What I liked most about the program is that it is run by doctors, they really help the students with the exam and they do an outstanding job of being accessible. Through the MDI Prep program, she had a chance to shadow several physicians that are on the MDI Prep board of directors and really enjoyed her time with Dr. George at Memorial Hermann. Highly recommend this prep course if you don't have a study plan or feel lost studying for NBDE Part 1. YOU WILL PASS NBDE 1, specially if you are a foreign trained dentist. MDI Prep Course team is amazing! Dr. Sutton is an outstanding educator. You will learn all core concepts needed to excel the exam. He has a special way of teaching and making you understand complicated concepts such as Biochemistry (which I have always struggled). The didactic material, lectures (which are recorded and you can watch them as many times as you wish), and notes are excellent. You will learn everything you need to know to pass the test and will remember all the mnemonics on the day of the test. I wouldn't be where I am today without Dr. Sutton's help. During my pre-med year at UT Austin, I got my first MCAT score and thought that medical school was not going to happen for me. Specifically, my verbal score was very weak. When I took it the second time, that's when I first met Dr. Sutton for his Verbal Intensive Course. He helped me make a big jump on my verbal section which led me to a competitive score. I would recommend this program to everyone. As a former MDI prep student i got to learn how to tackle different science subjects and techniques to ameliorate my reading and get a better score in that section. The class helps you see science under a different angle with the teaching that helps you clarify the subject. He will stat by making you understand the general concept in a simple form then goes into filling it in with details that way no matter the way a question is asked or phrased you will be on top of it. The program also helps you with your application and personal statement. you have to make sure you do your work well and put the most into it so that after corrections you end up with something to be proud of. The interaction between the teacher and students during the class allows an excellent exchange of material and helped me visualize the content so that i cannot forget it. Looking back as a 4th year medical student on the verge of applying to plastics/integrated residency program, MDIPrep is the reason why I am in this exciting position. I stayed in MDI for nearly one year without any extra charges from the program. The first few weeks in the program were really tough for me. I couldn't catch up with the class; had no clue whatsoever. However, I consider it as a great challenge. Every day, I spent hours to watch videos, go over the materials from the books and also do practice exams. Somehow, MDI has turned me into a student with a growth mindset. I am no longer afraid of chemistry or biology. I finally understand that I can always improve myself. Always ask myself what can I do to prove my study? ** THANK GOD MDI PREP IS AROUND TO HELP STUDENTS LIKE ME. I attended the Kaplan course in 2013 and got a 15 on my DAT. One of my friends told me about MDI Prep Course in Houston. According to my friend they not only help you with the exam, but they also help you with finding dentist to shadow, they help with your personal statement and they help with your application. I want to say one thing, my friend was absolutely correct. My score jumped from a 15-21 and I was accepted into Baylor Dental School. I honestly don't know what I would have done without MDI Prep. I had a chance to participate in a NBDE workshop today hosted by MDI prep in Houston, Texas. The workshop was very good, well organized and really helped me understand what i was doing wrong on the NBDE. The best part about the workshop was the practice test they gave us. I really believe many of the questions they had on their practice test were very similar, if not the same questions I saw on my actual NBDE. The two facilitators for the workshop, Dr. George and Dr. Sutton showed us some easy ways to answer NBDE questions that are considered tough. The only drawback is that instead of a 2 hour workshop, I wish this were more like an 8 hour workshop. read more

I learn a lot of attending in class and using online videos that mdi prep offers. in application I had many problem but dr sutton with special experience solved all of them. in interview workshop I did not know any information but after dr sutton view I understood what I need to do.
