As an employee that has worked at numerous other college consulting companies, EPT/College Shortcuts is set apart by the commitment to our clients. Other companies prioritize billing hours over putting their clients first, and this is what makes this company one of the best ones out there. I have worked with some of the most motivated and intellectually stimulating people as a part of this company, and the strength of the employees is incomparable. While other companies may be satisfied with simply hiring intelligent people, EPT prides itself on selecting tutors/consultants with these qualifications that also have the exceptional ability to teach. Whenever I see these negative reviews, I always wonder the kind of person that would want to leave such comments. Work with EPT/College Shortcuts, and the results will speak for themselves. read more

EDIT: As expected, Neha deleted her response to my original review. I've attached a screenshot below. Her actions are highly unprofessional and immature. She clearly doesn't have what to takes to work with students if she cannot even handle a negative review. A response to Neha: Just because someone doesn't like your services doesn't mean that they're a competitor. As with my "infrequent" Yelp activity (although I'd consider seven reviews fairly decent), I'd like to point out that many of your five-star reviewers have far fewer reviews than I have. Yelp even removed one of your raving reviews because it violated their Content Guidelines under conflicts of interest (i.e. it was fabricated by an employee or family member). I would be happy to forward you the email addressing it if you're inclined to respond with, "we are unsure where you read that". Frankly, your responses are embarrassing and childish. I sincerely hope that you treat your regular customers better. read more

Elite Private Tutors - Original response from Neha which was deleted after her unprofessionalism was called out. - Test Preparation Near Me - Houston, Texas

For the price you are paying, the experience at College Shortcuts is truly not worth it. I did the Mentorship/Research Project experience as well as the Application FastTrack. Speaking from the Mentorship/Research Project side, my mentor did not assist me at all with my project. My project was initially a website/program which revolved around the idea of mental health in adolescence. However, that program did not receive much success because my mentor did not help me on the publicity side. As a result, I ended up writing a research paper (on my own!) and got that published. To be clear, this research paper was solely created by me and had no assistance from the college shortcuts side. Now, I knew College Shortcuts would be a waste of time on the college preparation side, but my family and I chose to go through with the Application FastTrack Program (after my awful experience from the mentorship program) because of the ratings and how Neha portrayed that the program would look. When picking your colleges, they do not help you find schools which align with your profile. Specifically, if you are doing any extracurricular activities (or anything outside academics), they do not use those interests as your strengths in finding schools which best match you, or even schools which you have a great shot of getting into. Also, they made me write my essays before the official essay prompts came out. Now, this might have seemed like a good thing because of the practice. However, when the new essay prompts come out, they only go through the essay one time. So, you are left to check and edit the essays on your own. If you want to get another check, they charge per essay. If you feel that you are a good essay writer, you don't need this program because they don't really offer you anything. If you are not a strong essay writer, you can practice on your own or use free resources to help improve your writing. The only thing that they might be able to help you with is the steps to apply to college, but you can easily find those steps on Google for free. My family and I did talk to Neha about our complaints, but she would reword the phrases in a way which made the blame ultimately fall back on us. They took no responsibility for their lack of proper assistance in the college application process. I had to figure out how to apply on my own because College Shortcuts was not providing me with the information I needed to create a strong and successful application. Everything you need to apply to college is now on the internet. You really do not need to waste thousands of dollars on programs which will not benefit you in any way. read more

As a fellow business owner and seeing College Shortcuts grow for the last ten years, I can say that without a doubt, I refer all my family and friends to College Shortcuts. The work they output, the amount of positive video testimonials they have, and the great colleges students have gotten into, they are one of the top firms in the world for college admissions. I highly recommend them for any family looking to get help in getting into college. This company is very passionate about connecting students with mentors and helping them grow. I have personally watched the founder grow her company and will say that I have found her services to be top notch in the industry. read more

We used Elite tutors and it is clear in the last few years they continue to keep innovating and helping to better serve their students. They helped us to build strong school list for my son Gavin, edit all the essays for his applications, and prepare for the entire process. The enrollment team really cares to learn a lot about the families they work with . I highly recommend Elite Tutors to any parent interested in getting the help they need!! read more

It's all marketing without any substance. Please save your hard earned money and spend on someone who genuinely cares about giving quality advise to your kid(s). We signed up for their capstone program and it was a big disappointment. It was more about checking the boxes than taking the kids through the research process. We all want best for our kids ; except for marketing, these guys come no where close in terms of substance. My honest advice: STAY AWAY. read more

Elite Private Tutors is an amazing organization, very professional I have known Neha through her work with the Tony Robbins community and her character is unparalleled. She is dedicated to her clients, consistently finding innovating ways to reach parents through her knowledge of the college process. She has incredible empathy and the ability to reach children where they are and bring them forward. She has spent time with my own children and have inspired them to find their passion as well as involve them in activities to mentor them. She has been tutoring for over 16 years, and as a mom of three, I vouch for her company and college consulting program. She has helped quite a few moms I know across the country to help with their children and have gotten them into top universities. She is simple amazing woman to be around and am certain of our future with her on our team. read more

Very dishonest & unethical. Quoted one price through College Solutions for test prep then was told the prices had gone up without disclosing any condition ahead of time. The worst part is having me blocked so I am not able to do any reviews on Facebook. read more

I suggest to stay away from them. We have signed up for a mentoring program. Needless to say, its a big disppointment. Its just a big waste time for my kid. Forget about getting any reimbursement from them. read more

Blown away by how deeply Neha and this organization cares for their students - wonderful to see an organization with such commitment and integrity read more

Elite Private Tutors and College Shortcuts is absolutely amazing. As someone who also provides help for kids  -  this company is absolutely authentic and amazing when it comes to getting kids into college, test prep, and tutoring. I know clients that have gotten into their top choices in Florida and love Neha, the team, and how they operate their business. Ignore any negative reviews - this company is legit. read more

NEHA GUPTA is incompetent and unethical. Do NOT use EPT. She is brilliant at selling her services-- all smoke and miirrors. Her college counseling sabatoged our efforts & options. She is NOT invested in her clients. She only cares about money. Essays are full of spelling and gramatical errors. There is a last minute rush because of procrastination. Finally, your credit card is charged more than a base rate with unauthorized "tips", and don't expect any documentation or invoice. DONT let your child suffer -- find someone else. ANYONE else. I cannot emphasize this forcefully enough. read more

We have used Elite Private Tutors for a number of years for various reasons. I cannot say enough about how much they helped my children. I was concerned about their rates at first but once I observed the tutor, I knew we were getting a bargain. They were very prompt and prepared every time our session started. They always dressed professionally (even when I said "it's over 100*, you can wear shorts!"). The tutors were intuitive to each of my children's needs and found the best way to work with each of them. In fact, when we moved to the Lakeway area outside of Austin, my children were elated when we found out they had opened a location in Austin. There was never any problem to cancel if something came up at school or if the tutor had something unexpected come up, they always called to say they had someone who would fill in for them or we could reschedule. My son had a terrible 9th grade Geometry teacher so we found the textbook online and thanks to the tutor, my son is on track and in Alg 2 this year. If you are looking for a quality tutoring company whose owner and employees really care about helping students, then you need to look no further. read more

Neha is all marketing and no polish. Her tutors are mediocre, and College Shortcuts is the same. I made the mistake of falling for her sales pitch. Essays take weeks to be returned, and I had to correct mistakes that Neha made. Since then, I have been amazed at all the grammatical mistakes in her emails..and even in her responses to comments on Yelp. Could she please figure out singular/plural pronoun agreement?? For example, "We have looked into your child years later, and have found your child did end up at the college that you wanted them to go to" (Neha's Yelp response to Loving M). Why would anyone hire a college consultant who writes like this? In addition to poor writing skills, she processes credit cards with unauthorized amounts, differing from the agreed amount. Your high school college counselor and/or English teacher will be a better resource, and you will save a lot of money! read more

Neha Gupta is a machine when it comes to tutoring! English tutors, math tutors in Houston, Chemistry tutors, Neha has it! She hand picks every tutor she hired and all of her tutors are from Rice University. She knows exactly what moms need! read more

Elite Private Tutoring has helped out my child when he was a junior and senior in high school. The tutors were very attentive to my son's needs in the various subjects and helped him based on his learning style. I applaud Neha and her ability to match tutors to students. I believe EPT strives to help students feel confident in the ability to work through any issues they seem to have in subjects. I would encourage a complete consultation with EPT to discover the solution in helping any student achieve the skills to earn better grades. read more

Neha Gupta loves children. Ever since high school she was always at the top of her class. Her company offers some of the best SAT Test Prep, Math Help, and Chemistry tutors. I have referred clients of mine to her services and her coaches are at the top of their class at Rice. Let's just put it this way, you can't go wrong with Elite Private Tutors! read more

Aside from the team being incredibly intelligent, professional, and highly qualified, Neha exhibits such passion for students' success. She truly cares and will do anything to help her students. This is what makes EPT stand out among the rest. Highly recommended! read more

My son failed Physics his senior year and needed to pass it in summer school to go on to college. I was frantic. I sent an email to Elite Tutors in the middle of the night by the next morning someone had contacted me and we were setting up sessions for my son. The tutor, Jonathan was a dream he and my son hit it off as soon as he walked through the door. He explained physics with real world examples. My son passed physics with an 87 just in time for Freshman Orientation at Loyola University. I really don't know what would have happened without Elite Tutors they are awesome, attentive, responsive and amazing. I only wish I had found them sooner. I recommend them highly! read more
