However, at Mariner Montessori at Galleria, she has had the happiest moments and a wonderful time. She is currently in the Infant 2 class, and her teachers are incredibly caring and loving. They always show genuine empathy for my baby's feelings, and I feel completely comfortable leaving her in their care. The growth and development I've seen in my daughter since she started with them has been remarkable - I'm amazed by her milestones every day. I'd like to extend a big thank you to Ms. Daniela, Ms. Ester, Ms. Moraima, Ms. Tania, and Ms. Alaguthayammal for all the love, care, and dedication they show my little one. I couldn't ask for a better environment for her!

As much as I wanted to like this school because of the initial tour (which is gonna be the only…read moretimes that you might ever see a director or the owners) and the proximity to us, the experience for us was disappointing on many levels. We left three years ago after several months of enrollment, yet I STILL have negative feelings about our time there and unfortunately, I continue to hear from others about some of the same issues. I was initially very enthusiastic about Mariner and even recommended it to two friends, both of whom stayed And were quite happy. In my case unfortunately, things did not work out and turned unpleasant quickly. In my son's class, one wonderful teacher left, followed shortly by the other. Within a short period of time, the class went from a teacher-to-child ratio of approximately 1:8 to 1:22 children. The replacement teachers who showed up over night were very young, no native English speakers and without credentials or experience I would expect from teachers responsible for so many young children. More concerning to me were the safety issues. On two occasions, my son came home with unexplained bruises. The second incident ultimately led me to withdraw. I received him back with a huge bruise, and no one at the school could explain how it happened! Two days later was then told that he 'had a habit of rubbing his head against the carpet'--something he had never seen before and I have never seen since. During my meeting with the director, it became obvious that someone was not watching my son and he got injured, but they were not clear about how it happened. Do not send your child here! We immediately withdrew and while Ms Jenny and Ms Pat handled the situation courteously and refunded tuition and deposit without delays, the experience left me deeply concerned. During the time my son was enrolled, there was also an extraordinary amount of staff turnover. Several teachers who had left stayed in touch with us and told us they had left because of poor working conditions and low pay ($13/hr). There was also a woman at the front door (Ms Jessica 2021-2023) who was consistently rude and made morning drop-off unpleasant for families. She was eventually replaced only after she moved to New York. Another thing that always bothered me was the overwhelming smell of cleaning chemicals. I understand and appreciate the importance of cleanliness, but my son would often come home smelling strongly of Fabuloso. It was so strong that I found myself wondering whether the school was relying too heavily on chemicals rather than using more thorough cleaning methods such as deep or steam cleaning. I genuinely dreaded that smell when I picked him up. To make a long story short, there are better options out there. After leaving Mariner Montessori, we enrolled our son at Children's Village in West University, and our experience there was absolutely wonderful year after year. Mariner Montessori was a very difficult experience for us, and unfortunately, even years later, I still have not forgotten it. I heard a similar concerns from another parent, and finally decided it was important to share my experience as well. I hope this helps other families make an informed decision. Each school has their pros and cons.

She will be joining the emerging first grade program in the fall. From the moment you step into Blossom there's a sense of curiosity wonder and amazement at the endless possibilities of creativity one can imagine. Even as an adult I wanted to go to school here! This is a child led program and my daughter is blooming learning so much, right now she's very focused on sewing ! She designed her first dress this spring and loves cooking and learning with her peers in an intimate class setting. I really appreciate the teachers participation in her enrichment and I'm so glad my daughter is open to being taught by them. We are so fortune to have found this gem in Houston! If you are looking for the best !! come tour blossom!

This is truly a magical little place. I hunted around for months to find somewhere with a program…read morethat included ample outdoor time. Based on all the data for how important this is for kids, this doesn't seem like a challenging request -- but Blossom Heights was one of the only places I found where kids spend more than 2 hours outside (and most places it's more like 30-45 minutes). They have full and part-time programs, too, which is a major plus. It is not near where I live, but 100% worth the drive. The emphasis on open-ended play and being in nature is perfect. Each classroom has a dedicated outdoor area curated to their age/development. My son is outside for hours every day--painting, reading, playing with leaves, learning about bugs--it makes my day when I get pictures in the communication app of all the cute things he's doing. I'm so grateful he isn't stuck at a desk baking under fluorescent lights, or in a room with a million beeping toys. The classrooms are warm and cozy, full of open-ended activities but not overwhelming. The teachers and administrators are all so kind and loving. His teachers have been so patient with his reluctance to nap, and they give us the cutest insight into his days and growth. "Open-ended" and "play-based" is not a code word for laziness here, the teachers are extremely involved in crafting an environment that the children can learn from and guiding/nurturing them. They've been very careful with Covid precautions, too, and I never feel I'm taking unnecessary risk by bringing him to school. My only complaint is that I can't go to school here!

I wish we could pick up the school and move it with us. I don't even know where to begin. The entire staff is so kind, loving, and very involved with all the kids. When we ask my daughter who her best friend is, she says, "Miss Gaby & Miss Jessica." They are very strict, but in the most loving way. My daughter is very high energy and needs clear rules in order to thrive. She loves it here because she knows what is expected of her and can feel safe and comfortable because of the strict rules. My kids look forward to school every day, and I know they are learning. Our daughter tells us about her "work" all the time. It is so wonderful knowing that they aren't just playing all day long, but they are truly learning. In the summer, the kids get to swim at school 3 days a week, and throughout the year they have gymnastics & ballet. They also teach Spanish from about 2 years old. A small added bonus is the uniforms!! Getting ready every morning is so easy. I don't have to worry about having "school clothes" and other clothes, because their clothes are already picked out! :) Last but certainly not least, the safety. I have never felt more comfortable with the safety at a school before. There is absolutely no way to get to the area where the kids are, because there is a locked glass door once you walk into the foyer. The teachers are extremely strict on guests picking up your kids - one time my mom came to pick up my kids. I called Mrs. Shireen just to confirm that they would allow her to pick up and that they would check her driver's license because we were already out of town. Mrs. Shireen let me know that she would take my kids home to her own house to make sure they were safe if we were out of town and someone came to pick them up that wasn't yet on the list. We have been so impressed with this school, and I am not exagerating when I say I am devastated to be leaving. If you want a safe, fun environment where learning is of the utmost importance, it doesn't get any better than MLC. Mrs. Shireen, Miss Cindy, Miss Gaby, Miss Jessica, Miss Maria, Miss Leslie, and Miss Daisy are all absolutely amazing!!

We enrolled him when he was 1yrs old. He is happy well taken care of and so smart we couldn't be prouder. The staff that was there when my 18yr old attended is same staff my son has now. Ms.Shireen is great! She loves not only the profession but the children under her care. I would highly recommend this school. We have had nothing but great experience at the Montessori Learning Cottage.
