My little man continues to thrive at Mariner. We can't say enough positive things about the toddler 2 classroom with Ms. Renee, Ms. Mary and Ms. Mallory. I'd like to share an update since my last review. The school, staff, and curriculum are still wonderful! My children have thrived with the amount of support and guidance given by the wonderful teachers. When I drop them off at school they run towards the building with huge smiles. Please notice that Mariner was opened as a Montessori in 2019. Many older reviews refer to Excel daycare that was replaced by a true Montessori school with a completely new team and management. The school building is completely renovated and well organized. Parents and students are personally greeted each morning by the school director Ms. Vela. Then you walk into spacious, open, well lit rooms with brand new wooden furniture and a multitude of Montessori training materials. Your young one would be even more impressed by a large outside playground with plenty of space to run for even the most active kids. But it's not the building that makes all the difference at Mariner Montessori. It's the teachers and all the personnel at the school. I was very concerned about my son's transition, but it turned out to be surprisingly successful, all due to the most welcoming and friendly teachers. On the second day he ran into the class, waved to me and kept on running to his teacher. No tears since! For a brand new school, Mariner boasts several teachers with years of experience in Montessori education. Learning is very obviously a high priority at the school, though I am equally impressed by the effort spent on teaching good manners and social skills. This is a very nice preschool, which has recently changed from a daycare to a really high quality Montessori school with a STEAM curriculum.
