No Show. I booked an…read moreappointment through Living Social for 10 windows. I called them and let them know we had 4 windows and a sliding glass door. They said the sliding glass door would not count. I could understand if I said 8 or 9 windows and a sliding glass door but 4? Anyway, we negotiated and they agreed to do all the windows and the door. We had an appointment set. Guess what? That's right. They never showed. Nor did they answer their phone when I tried to see if they were coming. I worked with Living Social to get a refund on my voucher (which had apparently been redeemed before the appointment was even supposed to have taken place). I left a comment that they didn't show and they had the nerve to respond that they in fact cancelled the appointment, not that they didn't show. Whatever....call it a "no show" or a "cancellation", they never came when they said they would nor did they let me know in advance that they weren't coming. Update: via living social's correspondence mechanism the business says " Ok your [sic] upset we don't do shady biz if I was shady I would have never unredeemed your voucher I would have kept it and lied and said you were a no show we are a honest company Have a nice day" Yeah I'm upset. I wanted my windows cleaned! Lolz Anyway, not sure how the voucher was redeemed if the service was never provided. Either way, a good business wants the customer to have a good experience and works to make that happen. These guys, instead of trying to make things right, fire off defensive responses. They contacted the merchant, who said they DID come for the appointment but I was not at home when, in fact, I was home waiting for them all morning. Living Social sided with the company and wouldn't refund my money but offered credit in their DealBucks. What a horrible experience!!!! John was responsive, friendly and communicative and came to the house within a day to provide me with an estimate that I felt was very fair. He was transparent, describing in detail what areas of my property he thought would be more of a challenge to clean thoroughly, but was confident the house would be much cleaner when he was done...and he was right. On the day of the job, John arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule and was accommodating with our alternate side / street parking situation (this being Sunnyside). He and his assistant worked quickly and the results were stunning. In particular, our driveway, sidewalks and front steps are cleaner than we've ever seen them. John is fair and honest and a nice guy and really great at what he does. Don't hesitate to use him if you need power washing done.

Effectiveness: They probably got 20% of the grime off my brick house before telling me it was not possible to get it any cleaner. I have to believe that a company that does this routinely could have given me a heads up that the "textured brick" or whatever could have made cleaning impossible. On the sections that did get clean, e.g. bluestone elements, there are uneven spray patterns indicating that they didn't attempt to do everything they could. Overpriced because I paid the agreed price for way less than the agreed upon service. Somehow they also brought a social media guy out with a whole camera rig to film themselves _not_ getting my house clean, which was pretty funny.
