We had a print framed (my Xmas gift to my wife) which was fairly large. When we got it on the wall it was apparent that we didn't allow for a wide enough mat. It just looked "small" on the wall. This Nancy Hammond deserved/demanded better. So back we went. Now there was advice given when we first had it done, but no one tried to talk us into anything. So in my book, WE were the ones to pay for a "do-over." This was going to be a costly thing just in materials alone. They would not let us, even a portion. Trust me, I tried several times. They simply wanted us to be satisfied. Now, my family owned a business, and I've worked in one form or another in customer service as I've been in sales my entire life, and I KNOW the value of and efforts needed to satisfy clients and build a following. On the restoration, the owner (who is also an artist) helped me revitalize a 7'x7' painting that I found rolled up at an estate sale. He stretched it onto a frame then did all of the repair and restoration needed to put it back in mint condition. On the framing, he and his partner are both true craftsman and know exactly what to do to make a piece of art pop. I had them do an oil painting in a floating frame and a few glass frames on watercolor paintings. They hang proudly in my house.
