I researched trainers throughout the DFW area for months. Adam & Top Dog was one of the furthest from my residence, but none of the others brought as much experience to the table and offered the techniques needed for our situation. About 4 months after adopting my big boy, he decided that I, and only I, am his person. He began to act unsavory toward anyone else that tried to lead him away from me or anyone that was left in control of him after I walk away. He didn't have a great life before me & the breed is very loyal, so I understand but the behavior is not acceptable. His behavior prevented grooming, boarding, getting a dog walker or any other activity requiring someone else handling him. Given Ozzie weighs the same or more than most of my friends, very few were willing to take him by the leash and help me train him. I needed professional assistance & Top Dog's Board and Train program was the right fit. After appx 2.5 months with Adam, the business location moved from Joshua to Burleson forcing Ozzie to come home before completing the training. His behavior continues. I'm still unable to leave him with anyone except Top Dog staff. But having at least that one outlet provides an opportunity for me to complete the travel necessary in my employment. I hope to finish the training, learn additional techniques and provide my big boy the confidence to go with others without fear. I highly recommend Top Dog.

The dogs have a lot of backyard to run around and play in. I didn't have to bring anything but food. She had everything else my fur baby would need. I know she also has other services too. I'll definitely be bringing my dog back whenever I go out of town

We had six sessions and every one I had to continuously follow up with her. Even then she still flaked out of several sessions. I was surprised at her lack of organization. I followed up because we didn't do the final session at Home Depot with her other clients and a series of tricks to be performed. She refused to provide this session. I followed up on issues I was still having with my pup and her only advice on every issue was to keep him locked in his crate 100% of the time unless I had him on a leash. In the end my pup had received zero training. The worst part about it was that I wasted two months of my dog's puppyhood. She told me no treats, no toys, no walks and she was shockingly rough with him. When I confronted her she was aggressive and extremely unprofessional. She used phrases such as she told me to "fu*#ing grow up." Linda Konrad is a scammer. Do not waste your time or your money on anything she offers.

This review is long overdue. I sent my puppy to The Collar Academy about 18 months ago for five…read moreweeks. He was never a bad dog but I wanted him trained to walk with me off-leash and he would occasionally have resource-guarding issues that I wanted to break. During the five weeks, I got to visit him only once but I knew he was in great hands. Shortly after I picked him up, we went on a road trip. And that's when strangers first started complimenting how well-behaved he is. After returning home, we started going back to his favorite dog park and people always asked how I got him so well-trained. A few months later, I guess I finally decided to try walking with him off leash following not only the training they gave him but me. I was shocked I actually had better control of him off leash than on. The Collar Club is definitely the best investment I've made in my dog and I'm so grateful I did.

BEWARE OF THIS FACILITY!!!! Would rate 0 stars if I could…read more Booked our freshly one year old, completely healthy, labradoodle for the 3 week board and train. Dropped him off 5/23/2026, went to our in-facility training on 6/6/2026 and he was perfectly fine (wanted to jump on us and kiss us but they didn't let him because he was in training to learn to be a better boy... wishing we got to have a few more kisses from him), facility contacted us 6/10/2026 evening and said he was being weird and that they'd monitor him, we had to put him down 6/11/2026 just 4 days before he was supposed to graduate and come home to us. Facility was so cold about the whole situation, didn't even apologize for our loss and has since ghosted me after requesting a refund (because not only do we no longer have a dog to use the service we paid for, we didn't even get to complete the course). The facility had him tested without our permission and the results showed he had contracted a contagious virus, which could have only been from this facility. He was a young, healthy pup who had never been around other dogs. We are so heartbroken and just hope this doesn't happen to anyone else who entrusts these people to care for their fur baby. I've given them plenty of time to try to make things right amicably. I am a very understanding person, but the fact that they couldn't even muster up the dignity to even respond to me was my last straw. Everyone who considers this facility needs to know the damage they have caused our family. Sammy boy was our baby girl's first birthday present last year and they were the best of friends. They were supposed to have the best childhood together and were completely robbed of that. I truly believe he would still be with us if we didn't enroll him at the Collar Club. edited to reply to owners response: perfect example of deflection and trying to save your business. all of that is false. you don't have the decency to respond to my emails but can be a keyboard warrior on a review... exactly the type of person I expected I was dealing with. "hearts go out to the family" lol

She turned a year and was still difficult on a leash, jumping on guests, and very high energy. I didn't want to leave her somewhere for them to train. I wanted to train her. I saw a dog walking in the park and it was sooo well mannered, I rolled down the window and asked. Next day had a free evaluation with Mindy and that was the beginning of getting my dream dog. She went 4 days and I picked her up at the end of the day for my training. We are currently in our year long group classes and both Lucy and I look forward each class. We are out in real life situations to continue our progress. There are not words to express how thankful I am to all trainers we have worked with!!! Mindy and crew are the absolute best!

Cancelled lessons on me the day of and even hours before constantly for personal plans. When I reached out about my issues with training I met with another trainer because it was agreed the training needed to be started over. We had one training session before I started working two jobs. I reached out and asked for a refund since I would no longer be able to do repeat training. Owner was supposed to call me but instead chose to text which shows how unprofessional they are. They insisted there would be no refund and my only option was repeat training. They were rude and condescending and completely unwilling to help or work with me. I asked for a copy of the contract I signed which does not say anything about no refunds. They told me that since their trainer had already been paid they couldn't help me. Unreal. The reason I signed up when I did was because I had just gotten my puppy and wanted to start training ASAP. I was unemployed at the time so the expense for training was a big one, but I believed it to be worth it as I had hopes for this dog to be a therapy dog. I had plenty of time then to go to training and work with her at home. With my new schedule for work everything would be far too disruptive. The contract I signed even states that for best results, things need to be completed in a timely manner. However the owner of the company tried to tell me even if the trainings were spaced out over a year it would be fine. I would have been better off watching YouTube videos and working from those.
