He had some great ideas on how to enhance the space, showing us how we could easily have a bigger shower. We checked with a couple of other companies, but went with DWC because we liked Paul's responsiveness, ability to explain, patience, and flexibility. The bid wasn't the cheapest, but DWC did a fantastic job and was worth every penny! Paul walked us through every step, from design ideas to site logistics to explaining the process to connecting us with wonderful, sensible local vendors for tile, fixtures, paint, and window treatments. He and his crew are reliable, trustworthy, friendly, and CLEAN, besides being outstanding craftsmen. The subcontractors he engages are just as wonderful. They all have a good relationship with the city and took care of all permits and communication with the city. His ability to coordinate and adjust schedules kept the project humming along - it was finished in less time than anticipated despite a global pandemic hitting right at the end! He and his subs worked with the city to get everything signed off despite the city's shutdown. If you've read this far, I hope you'll let me share a story or two. How clean are they at DWC? They set up a staging area in a spare room with plastic walls and floor covering, and covered the stairs as well. One day I looked out the window to see them vacuuming the *driveway* at the end of a day when they were sawing outdoors. How good are they? They found a squeaky subfloor board on the landing and fixed it (yes, it cost extra) because they were worried it might warp the tiles in the bathroom. The subcontractors pointed out many times little details that made them want to work with DWC. How creative are they? They wanted to recess our medicine cabinet but found a pipe behind the wall. So they bumped out the wall there so we could have a recessed cabinet (which we hadn't even thought of, but which looks much nicer than one hanging on the wall). How quiet are they? I work from home, and they never disturbed me. Or our dog, for that matter, but she's pretty deaf. In fact, they were always happy to see her, which of course endeared them to me even more. How perfectionist are they? They fixed some dings made in the other rooms in the course of the work and even had the painter do the stairway, even though most of those dings were done by us. Finally, if you've read this far, the DWC crew and everyone who works with them are just plain NICE. It was a pleasure to have them work with us, and I would engage them again in a heartbeat.

Bruno may not mean to scam you, but he will take your money and then do nothing for months. He will not apply for permits, and he will tell you your town/city is the problem. He will blame every delay or broken promise on circumstances outside of his own control. During that time, he will use your money to finish his other projects or (probably) pay his other bills. If you ask for your money back, he will tell you he has bought materials but never provide any proof. If you call Bruno out for his poor performance, he will gaslight you and again blame everyone but himself, including you. I decided to work with Bruno despite a few bad reviews. I figured everyone makes mistakes. But when Bruno makes them, he will not make them right. The only reason I have not pursued a lawsuit against him is that lawyers cost money and Bruno has a history of not paying the settlements against him. It's possible that Bruno has improved his business practices in the year since we last interacted, but I wouldn't bet on it. Neither should you.

JWC did an amazing job with the refinishing of our kitchen and dining room floors. The contractor…read morefor a previous renovation had done a poor job with the floor and then vanished. We had originally chosen a black stain so Jackson and his team were facing a difficult challenge to completely remove the old stain and start from scratch. After completing multiple sandings, Jackson's team gave us numerous samples of new stain and finish so we could visualize the result and choose the best option. We went with a modified oil ebony stain and water-based satin finish. The final result was amazing. We got just the right amount of grain coming through the dark stain and the satin finish gave the floor a stunning elegance. Jackson's team ensured everything was well protected with plastic sheeting. They also brought in a heavy-duty fan to speed up drying and remove any smell - we hardly smelled anything in the rest of the house during the staining and nothing from the multiple coats of finish. Jackson also kept us informed throughout the 9 day project. I would strongly recommend JWC. They may be on the higher end of the price range but worth every penny when you really need your floors "done right".
