Last August (2016) we had McQuade excavate and pave our driveway. We did need to call him back a few times to smoooth out some areas that had tire treads and they did an OK job. Unfortunately, McQuade subcontracted a guy to put in pavers at the end of the driveway. It looked great, but within months the sides of the pavers on the edge of the driveway had caved and all of the cement grout was crumbled. It looks terrible now. McQuade finally contacted the mason guy (my husband called McQuade numerous times, always took days to return our calls) who refused to do anything about it, and McQuade accepted no responsibility, even though our contract was with McQuade and we paid only him and it was expensive. Now we need to hire another company to repair and seal everything, and I'm sure this is going to be an ongoing problem. McQuade should have made it right and pursued the mason guy that THEY paid! We're so busy, it's hard to find time to sue him in small claims court, so we'll take pictures and document and probably just cut our losses. People ask us who did the work, and believe me, I let them know. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else spending thousands of dollars on their driveway. read more
