After years of owning one of these "cottages" i can honestly say spend the extra money for a better…read morebuilt company. The first month of it being in my possession, I contacted the company with all of the issues that were already occurring including installing a hot water heater i explicitly told them not to put in, the trailer frame was dented at the point of the jack making it impossible to use, all the wiring was done wrong and only half the house was able to get power, my lofts were incomplete and had insulation exposed, my windows were not caulked in and the biggest problem is they dropped off a unit that clearly was not mine as i had requested an exact replica of the home i had toured originally, the metro retro. I tried to return it, i tried to use the warranty, i tried to remedy with the company by allowing one of their guys to come fix the flaws of which they never sent. They actually in fact "ghosted" me. I had to spend an exorbitant amount of money to make it habitable and even then it has been a struggle. My best advice would be spend the extra cash necessary on a company that doesnt cut corners in order to turn out more units. On an additional note after hiring a PI they told me this isnt even the first time they have had dozens of complaints over the years, lawsuits and chapter 9 on his last company so im not at all surprised at them being semi scam artists. While you will get a unit, it wont be what you had paid for or requested. Oh and joe... i have all of our communications documented, i have the deed to the unit you drop off as well as the contracts so dont you dare keep saying that my reviews are fake. Clearly im not the only unsatisfied customer.

I URGE YOU TO FIND ANOTHER COMPANY TO FULLFILL YOUR TINY HOME DREAMS!…read more My Vintage tiny home was delivered in January of 2018. When I went through the home, I found a list of problems that filled two columns on a sheet of paper. The problems consisted of everything from the wrong roof color to the wrong flooring and everything in between (no caulking around the kitchen sink so water ran through, no caulking around the shower, etc., etc.). The most dire problems were with the electricity. The county deemed the house uninhabitable and a fire danger because of the state of the electricity. My electrician was appalled at the lack of safety and workmanship. Vintage did pay the over $500 to repair it and fixed some of the other problems. Dealing with these initial problems went on for over a month and was time-consuming and discouraging. (The Vintage employee who came out to fix some of the problems shared with me that they are constantly having to do these after-delivery fixes, and shared some of the major problems that past homes had.) In October of 2019 the roof started to leak significantly. I had gone with a metal roof because they are supposed to last. My partner tried to figure out what was wrong, but was unable to, so put a tarp on it. When I contacted Joe about this (several months had gone by as I experienced the death of my partner), I received no help whatsoever. After one reply email, he actually ignored my emails and texts. Yes, the one-year warranty had expired, but an honorable company would certainly stand behind their workmanship and claims to provide a "high-quality tiny house". High quality tiny houses do not come with such extensive problems and a roof that didn't even make it to the two-year mark. Yes, these tiny homes may be inexpensive, but there's a reason. Please save yourself the ongoing hassles and find another option. I want better for you!
