EXCELLENT SERVICE! Broke my leg (again) doing "my own stunts" (again). Had a very complex distal femur fracture surgery with plates/screws and limited ROM in my knee. I started Physical Therapy twice weekly at McKee Therapy Specialists for range-of-motion, strength and mobility last November (on crutches). Both Chaz and Conor have treated me over the course of over 6 months now. It's been slow and steady progress, but they've given me professional and emotional support every step of the way. There have been days that I've broken down in despair, and yet always found them to be patient, understanding and encouraging. They work with you to make the experience as comfortable/relaxing (and dare I say "fun") as possible. They're the most caring, kind, compassionate staff that I've *ever* encountered in a HealthCare setting. I only wish I'd have known about them sooner. You can see how much the patients love Conor and Chaz -- and for good reason. Highly recommend them for any/all physical therapy needs. I've observed them to be especially good with younger, pediatric patients. Scheduling is spaced out nicely -- never overcrowded. You do not feel like a "number" here. The pain in my shoulder was causing me to lose sleep, literally. I started going two times a week for Physical Therapy at McKee Therapy Specialists. It seemed like I would never get well, but Chaz, my Physical Therapist, was always encouraging. He especially made sure I never did any exercises that would cause me pain in anyway. Dr. McKee is that rare medical professional that so many of us claim doesn't exist anymore...he genuinely cares about the health and well being of his patients, and is truly interested in the betterment of each patient's quality of life. Dr. McKee consistently exhibits integrity, compassion, and professionalism. As one of his recent patients, I am very grateful that he chose medicine (specifically physical therapy) as his career. I was suffering from a pinched nerve that began in the vertebrae in my neck and radiated down both arms into my hands and fingers. The pain, numbness, and tingling was absolutely horrible and constant. It negatively impacted every aspect of my waking and sleeping (what little I was getting) life. I waited over 2 weeks before seeing my PCP, thinking that it would get better on its own, and her nurse recommended McKee Therapy Specialists. McKee Therapy Specialists is staffed by friendly professionals, who go out of their way to accommodate every patient. Kaitlynn, the office coordinator, spent quite a bit of time with me initially as we both tried to figure out my confusing insurance requirements. She was pleasant and patient throughout the entire process, and Dr. McKee made adjustments to allow for certain financial provisions of my particular health insurance. Dr. McKee oversaw my treatment personally, and displayed empathy and infinite patience, even when I became frustrated that my symptoms were not relieved after only two treatments (we want everything instantly in our fast paced culture don't we?). Dr. McKee explained how the healing process of nerve damage is very different from that of muscle tissue, and that he did not want to begin aggressive treatment techniques too soon, and possibly aggravate the already sensitive area on my spine. He gave me some tips to help me sleep, which worked exactly as described, and helped me sleep better than I had been able to in weeks. By my third visit, Dr. McKee felt that we could begin some other treatment options and I felt the results immediately! Having gone weeks with pain, numbness and the sensation of a swarm of bees or ants crawling up and down my arms and hands, I left his office that day feeling 99% better. I have another treatment scheduled, and if I continue to feel relief from my symptoms, Dr. McKee says it might be my last treatment. Unlike many chiropractors and physical therapy facilities run by large medical corporations, Dr. Mckee is not trying to keep you coming back until your insurance runs out, and he is not trying to sell you a "package" of treatments for the rest of your life. He really wants his patients to feel better, whether that takes 2 or 20 treatments. I am so very thankful to Dr. Conor McKee, and have already recommended him to a friend who said that she has been living with chronic pain due to carpel tunnel (she thinks) and just figured it was something she was going to have to deal with for the rest of her life. She is hopeful that she will have relief from her symptoms, and I know if any place can offer that, it is McKee Therapy Specialists.
