So we love, five stars every single time which is usually Friday night. We always go to the Galloway location but yelp can't identify that as separate. We've enjoyed dozens of times, the sauce is delicious, the pizza is perfect. We get plain, sometimes toppings or white with broccoli. We love the cheesesteaks, Stromboli, chicken parm and zeppoles. I recently tried the chicken nachos, they're different topped with chopped up chicken but really tasty. My picky family from grandpa to three year old and I mean picky, all can find something on McHughs menu because they're always consistently very good! And I should mention the folks answering the phone are always helpful & welcoming people! They do have a couple tables for a quick bite but we always take home. Mangia!! read more

I visit my family up in Brigantine, NJ about once a month. And usually every Friday night, it's pizza night for them. When they rented a house, it was between Andrea's (really good pizza too) and McHugh's usually switching once a week. They've since moved to a house they bought real close to McHugh's. Since then, it's been nothing but McHugh's pizza for them. Every time we get pizza from them it's always consistent. We always get a Pepperoni Double Cut (for the kids) and that's always really good. We've since tried their Sicilian Sausage and that's really good too. When I come we get 2 pizza's haha. I also get their Mozzarella Sticks which are awesome! I wouldn't change anything about them. Always done right every time. Well maybe one thing, the small is a 6 count so I always get a Large order. Their onion rings are really good too. Order several pies on Friday night of Labor Day Weekend. Not too many pizza places to choose from in town and this might have been just about the only place to pop up besides some Mexican/Pizza place. Order take out and several pies were ready within 30 minutes of calling. It was a bit of a zoo inside with the phone ringing off the hook but the cashiers were attentive enough to get me checked out within a couple mins. Order was correct. Cash Only! Scarce parking on a holiday weekend. Not an empty seat in the joint. Next door was crowded too. Pie wasn't bad and the price was right. Somehow the pepperoni was better than the cheese probably because of a little extra grease and slightly more well done. Saw another review mentioned that they answer the phone "pick up or delivery" which is correct. If they answered with a little chit chat they would never be able to field all the phone orders on a busy holiday weekend. read more

McHugh's is one of the first places I visited when I decided to visit as many pizza places as possible (but before I decided to focus on plain pizza). Staying in Brigantine on vacation, I got a personal pizza with chicken on top. I chose the thick variety over thin - the cheese and sauce were thick as well as the sauce, and all tasting pretty good. just ordered 2 large pies, cooked lite almost raw, & got 2 pies almost well done. When I called & complained, they did offer to make 2 new pies, but we were told it would be an additional 40 minute wait, so we just ate it, but did not enjoy it at all. How you can over-cook pizza, when a customer orders lightly cooked, almost raw, is beyond me, plus they put the receipt right in the middle of our food!!! Many of the comments on other reviews were accurate, so the owner may benefit from reading and possibly addressing customer's concerns. We always order from here on our first night when we come down the shore. The pizza is really good, with sausage being one of our favorites. The vegetable stromboli is one of my favorites, full of gooey cheese, broccoli, onions, peppers and spinach in a soft crispy dough. Be forewarned - the large can feed like 4 people if not more! My kids love the mozzarella sticks and curly fires, which even during pickup and the drive home, don't come soggy. Cheesesteaks are also really yummy, but the salads are mostly full of lettuce, so I would't recommend ordering those if you're looking for a hearty salad. Even during the hectic summer season and Saturday check-ins, their wait times are reasonable and the orders have always come out right. Definitely one of our favorites on the island! read more

Primo is usually the family go-to in Brigantine especially for the pizza. Not a bad price for a pie at a shore location and it's always made just right. Sandwiches and salads are really good too. Service can take a bit long during the weekend so prepare for that and this place is old school and only takes cash. Remember to bring your cash before you arrive. My wife and I live in South Carolina and spent the week in Brigantine. We were catching up with family because I was born and raised in south Jersey. My wife loves real Italian and Sicilian pizza from the north.So, one of the first things we did upon arrival is order Jersey Sicilian pizza. Quality was there, taste was not. Pizza, unfortunately, tasted like frozen food grocery pan pizza. We were sadly disappointed. We live in Columbia, SC and have only one place in the whole city that makes from scratch Sicilian pizza. Naturally, they are transplants from Brooklyn and have everything shipped down south, but their pizza is hands above what I had in my home state of Jersey. McHugh's is using quality ingredients but they might need to revisit recipe or the ovens they are using. I will be back but for the traditional Italian pie. read more

Service: I am not one to give neutral / bad reviews however the counter person (middle aged woman with black hair) was flat out nasty! Her attitude and mannerisms to the staff and customers is uncalled for. I hope for the sake of your staff that this is a family run business otherwise the turn over rate must be rather high. We were like.... surprise us.... it's just pizza. Well upon finding the place we noticed it looked pretty normal. Inside was a little surprise. Cash only. Whaaat? It's the 21st Century! ATM Available. Ohhhhhhh. Rip off! Note to self.... must remember to call IRS and alert them that there could potentially be hundreds of thousands of dollars in unreported income... except those that match the ATM log of course. Definitely not the definition of a good jersey pizza, however, it was decent. There aren't many pizza places on the island of Brigantine. It is on the pricier side and it is CASH ONLY. We call on a Saturday night for pickup, they said 30 minutes, it was a little faster than 30 minutes which was great. All the staff inside were very friendly. First off they answer their phone - PICK UP OR DELIVERY. Not hello, not Primo Pizza- just abrasively pick up or delivery. Very rude imo. The woman on the phone was rude and said the total and hung up. No good bye. They are cash only but don't tell you that over the phone - they have an ATM that only charges you .25. That's a plus so they earned a star back for that. I held the door for the woman who worked there and she stood in the door way yelling at her daughter while I held the door for her for an awkwardly long time (while I was holding my pizza) didn't say thank you. Again rude. The chicken parm hero was edible but nothing special but the pizza was burnt badly. I called and asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold and ultimately hung up on.
