These guys do great work and are very friendly. They installed mounts for 2 ceilings fans and an outlet on my patio. I thought their prices were reasonable. I would use them again. read more

McGuire Electric is my go-to business for all things electric. I have used them for serveral projects, including the latest installation of 16 recessed lights in a hallway and living room area. At each installation, the electricians were friendly, profession and efficient, completing the work as described and on time. They even provided suggestions for light placement, suggestions which I used! The pricing is fair and the work is quality. I will certainly be using them for upcoming renovations in the kitchen and baths. read more

I had a good experience with McGuire Electric and would use them again in the future. Project: I had 2 rooms outfitted with recessed lighting, an exterior outlet added, and a vent fan added to a bathroom. Everything went as planned, except that we ran into some issues adding lighting where it turns out there was plumbing in the way. Luckily instead of giving up and settling for something like track lighting they went out to Home Depot and located smaller diameter and thickness LED recessed lights which just fit so I ended up getting what I wanted. It was the right solution and I was pleased that they were willing to put the effort in. They take care of purchasing the lighting, fans, and outlets so I didn't have to do any more Home Depot runs, which I am getting tired of. Contact: The guys (Matt and Richard) were great to work with and cool to be around. The communication about where to put the lighting and fan and what sort of fallout (holes in walls; strategically I planned this project prior to painting) was excellent so I knew what to expect and could give input when necessary. Price: I did not price shop around since they came recommended from a friend, so I can't give an indicator of their price point compared with other businesses. To me it seemed reasonable for the value it added to the home. Scheduling: Decent; the work took 2 days spread apart by 2 weeks; it was more of a delay that I anticipated however I was in no hurry at all so that wasn't a problem. Overall I think they did a great job and I am very pleased with the outcome! I would highly recommend them. read more

I couldn't be more please with the work That McGuire Electric did for us. We had a lot of issues with our house when we moved in, with many things not being up to code and just not enough outlets. They did great work removing unnecessary and dangerous wires from the lights for the old dropped ceiling that we had taken down. They also updated our breaker and connection to the power grid. They have added 9 outlets for us in the house, helping to bring us up to date for modern electrical needs. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone, and I will be using them again very soon to have new lighting in my basement wired. Thank you for the great work! read more

I'm going to add to all of the other multiple great and well deserved ratings for McGuire Electric. I first called several weeks ago because of trouble with a light fixture and switch. From my description of the problem over the phone, it was deduced that the fixture was not repairable. I was advised to purchase a light fixture, which I did. When I had it, I gave Mcguire Electric another call. They came THE VERY NEXT DAY and and handled the light fixture and switch issue! The gentleman with whom I spoke over the phone was knowledgeable and kind. The gentlemen who came to fix the problem were efficient and friendly. I'm very, very appreciative of this kind of service. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

I called McGuire Electric and left a message for service for several outlets that were not getting power. I was promptly called back and spoke with Mick who was informative and up-front about the costs, friendly and overall very professional. We were able to schedule an appointment the next morning. In the morning I was greeted by Jason and Logan. They worked quickly while still being extremely courteous, personable, professional, as well as informative. They were able to diagnose, solve the issue, and clean up in less than an hour. I will definitely call McGuire Electric again for any electrical work that needs to done and I highly recommend their work. They are the gold standard of what they do. read more

Called them out for a quote and they came out the same day. 65 dollar service charge but well worth it and they add it towards the work that needs to be done. Scheduled the work to be done for about 2 weeks later and 2 guys came the day of the job on time. They did an excellent job and prices were very fair for all the work we needed done. Would recommend them they do great work! read more

It has been 10 years since I said I would put power in my garage... I went over all the options. Do it my self, hire it out, forget about it... Well, I finally made the decision to get it done. Here is what I can tell you from my experience with McGuire Electric. Don't fool around with contractors who don't need your money, and won't call you back or show up with booze on the breath and quotes to the sky. Call McGuire first. He'll come out, assess your job, give you thoughtful recommendations and direction. Not only is Mick knowledgeable and friendly, but he is a real good guy who takes pride in his work and doesn't settle unless you are happy. I never once got the feeling that I was bothering Mick to come out and do my job which today, seems to be the running bit. Call the contractor and he will come out if he feels you are worthy. This is not so with McGuire. Mick made me and my family feel like he truly appreciated our business and was glad to help. I felt more like I was dealing with a guy I've known for a long time than an electrician that I just met. The same goes for his workers. Extremely friendly and conscientious. The price of my job fell well into my budget and I was delighted. As Mick said, "Money does not grow on trees!", and he believes and understands this. When the job was done, (wired my garage from the house to the building. fully trenched, power run throughout) I was thrilled. Could not imagine it going any smoother. The process from beginning to end was quick and painless. All work completed same day within hours, constant communication, no corners cut! My city inspector said McGuire's work is easy to inspect and pass, because of their consistently neat, quality work. What more could you ask for? Mick McGuire, is my electrician. Thanks again, Mick! read more

I called today after finding out that my new washer/dryer could not be installed because had the wrong type of outlet. They had Dave at my place within an hour and he was so quick and clean. When I called, I was given a overview of what needed to happen and a ballpark price for this type of job and it was very reasonable. I am super happy with this service and will use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Professional, friendly, responsive, and quality work - that's the way of running a business that makes me a repeat customer. They were responsive when I first called to get an estimate, they called to confirm, and Matt was on time for both the estimate and the work. He made sure I understood what he was going to do (he rewired the garage and brought it up to code), answered my questions, and then did a walkthrough with me when he finished -- it was very reassuring, and Matt was fantastic to work with. I feel totally confident in hiring this company again for the next project (lighting in the basement)! read more

McGuire is the type of contractor that, if they can, will try to resolve your issue over the phone before setting up a visit and charging you money. They have done this for me several times. Friendly and honest - it's easy to understand why they have been in business for so long. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone in need of an electrician. read more

after moving into our new 1950s home we had some problems using our microwave. it kept blowing the circuit breaker, which was getting to be extremely annoying. i called McGuire Electric and got a quote over the phone. the next day they sent Matt and Elvin to fix my problem microwave outlet. they're terrific guys and explained what they were doing and cleaned up after themselves. i paid the exact quoted price and i'm very satisfied with their work. i would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an electrician and will be using them for future electrical projects/problems. read more

These guys are experienced and respectful. I had a new breaker box installed as well as replacement outdoor wiring. There were no surprises or complications. Had a friend that recommended this guy due to his work on a garage door and routing power to the garage. Would happily recommend this guy to anyone. read more

Super nice, super helpful and very honest! My elderly mother's garage door and outside electrical didn't work on this cold January day. Unfortunately, there is no other door for the garage, since it was built decades before automatic openers. Called and spoke to Mick McGuire, the owner. He was so helpful! I had tried turning the circuits on/off to reset them which worked in the past, but not this time. He advised me over the phone how to find and reset the outside box and all was well again. He could have easily come out and charged for a service call, but was kind and honest enough to tell me how to check the basics before doing so. Her home needs to have some electrical updating later this year, and I know that Mick is the electrician that I will call and be able to trust! read more

Decided to join the 21st century and replace our old fuse box with a breaker box and we could not be happier with the service we got with McGuire electric. Jason came out to give us a quote which was honored when we were able to schedule the installation a month later. I hired McGuire Electric to install some recessed can lighting in my house. I called and the owner Mick came out and gave me a quote. I liked his recommendations about the installation so we scheduled an appointment to do the work. He explained they were running about two weeks out on appointments. It was worth the wait! He sent Matt and Fred out. They were on time, professional, and when they were done, you couldn't tell they had been here. Except for the awesome lighting. I have found my electrician! McGuire is truly a 5 star operation that deserves a 5 star rating. I originally called McGuire to diagnose an electrical issue in the master bedroom of my home a few months ago and I was totally impressed their service. An electrician team was dispatched to my home within 2 hours and they diagnosed and fixed the problem within 1/2 hr. This week I had a MAJOR electrical issue in my home and again, I called McGuire Electric and another electrician team was dispatched to the house within 2 hours. As I said...it was a major issue. The electrician who was assigned to the problem (Dave) was amazing. He worked on diagnosing the problem (he actually discovered two separate issues). He restored my electrical service first and then worked to resolve a long term problem that had been an issue since my house was new. McGuire Electric is a "class act" from the ownership on through the entire organization. McGuire and its people are competent, efficient and very cost competitive...they get personally involved with your issue and take the extra steps to satisfy their customers! Simply put...THEY CARE! I wouldn't use any one else! McGuire is everything you need! read more

McGuire has been to our house several times in the past and has always been prompt, efficient and has provided excellent service. Last night our power went out, but returned within a few hours. This morning I checked and noticed that our outlets in our kitchen island were not working. I called McGuire to come out for repairs. He was great! He told me to check a couple of things before they came out so I could possibly save some money. And sure enough, it worked!!! I highly recommend McGuire! read more

In my new older home, I needed to update the electrical box, add four outlets in the basement, two outlets in bedroom, and some regular light bulb fixtures with the strings in basement which cost $8,000. Jason and his crew were very professional. Jason answered any questions. I only gave a four star because the price was high. I have given their business cards to people and would highly recommend this company for a quality job. I will call them again when I need more work done. read more

They were in and out in a flash. Upfront pricing and skilled craftsmanship was appreciated. I will use again in near future.

This review is long past due as McGuire Electric serviced our home last November. We needed our electrical box in our basement moved. They not only responded to my inquiry same day, but also were able to give me an appointment as soon as I could be available. The performed the work within the time they promised and we were back up and running with electricity within a matter of hours. McGuire Electric also stayed in contact with us, providing updates on when the city inspector would be coming. Regarding price, I am not familiar with the work so couldn't say on my own, but I did have my brother who works with electrical in his line of work take a look at the quote and he deemed it a very fair price for the amount of work to be done. My parents also had McGuire add lighting in their dining room just recently and were very happy with the results. They were hosting a gathering the following day so were concerned about mess. McGuire Electric did such a nice job it was not an issue after all. Highly recommended for any electrical job! read more

Very professional, came and found problem right away. Will definitely call them again if problem arises.

We just moved to Royal Oak and asked neighbors if they had an electrician that they would recommend. Got 3-4 names and none of them worked out, either would not return phone calls or would not show up when they said they would. Decided to look on Yelp and found McGuire, so glad we did. Return phone calls promptly, show up when they say they will, rates are reasonable, and work completed on time exactly as they said it would. Highly recommend, would hire again. read more

Mick was able to send an electrician out the same day and had very good communication. He is very focused on making sure his customers are happy and stands behind their work. While the job I needed turned into an expensive project - it made sense to get it done right. The owner was very clear and friendly on the phone and the price they quoted was the price I paid (they even looked at a couple of extra things for free or at a discount since I was having a big project done--replacing and moving a breaker box). I would definitely use them again. read more

Needed an new outlet in my garage and these guys gave me a honest quote on the scope of work over the phone.
