I couldn't be more please with the work That McGuire Electric did for us. We had a lot of issues with our house when we moved in, with many things not being up to code and just not enough outlets. They did great work removing unnecessary and dangerous wires from the lights for the old dropped ceiling that we had taken down. They also updated our breaker and connection to the power grid. They have added 9 outlets for us in the house, helping to bring us up to date for modern electrical needs. From my description of the problem over the phone, it was deduced that the fixture was not repairable. I was advised to purchase a light fixture, which I did. When I had it, I gave Mcguire Electric another call. They came THE VERY NEXT DAY and and handled the light fixture and switch issue! I had a good experience with McGuire Electric and would use them again in the future. Project: I had 2 rooms outfitted with recessed lighting, an exterior outlet added, and a vent fan added to a bathroom. Everything went as planned, except that we ran into some issues adding lighting where it turns out there was plumbing in the way. Luckily instead of giving up and settling for something like track lighting they went out to Home Depot and located smaller diameter and thickness LED recessed lights which just fit so I ended up getting what I wanted. It was the right solution and I was pleased that they were willing to put the effort in. They take care of purchasing the lighting, fans, and outlets so I didn't have to do any more Home Depot runs, which I am getting tired of. Contact: The guys (Matt and Richard) were great to work with and cool to be around. The communication about where to put the lighting and fan and what sort of fallout (holes in walls; strategically I planned this project prior to painting) was excellent so I knew what to expect and could give input when necessary. Price: I did not price shop around since they came recommended from a friend, so I can't give an indicator of their price point compared with other businesses. To me it seemed reasonable for the value it added to the home. Scheduling: Decent; the work took 2 days spread apart by 2 weeks; it was more of a delay that I anticipated however I was in no hurry at all so that wasn't a problem. Super nice, super helpful and very honest! My elderly mother's garage door and outside electrical didn't work on this cold January day. Unfortunately, there is no other door for the garage, since it was built decades before automatic openers. Called and spoke to Mick McGuire, the owner. He was so helpful! It has been 10 years since I said I would put power in my garage... I went over all the options. Do it my self, hire it out, forget about it... Well, I finally made the decision to get it done. Here is what I can tell you from my experience with McGuire Electric. Don't fool around with contractors who don't need your money, and won't call you back or show up with booze on the breath and quotes to the sky. Call McGuire first. He'll come out, assess your job, give you thoughtful recommendations and direction. Not only is Mick knowledgeable and friendly, but he is a real good guy who takes pride in his work and doesn't settle unless you are happy. I originally called McGuire to diagnose an electrical issue in the master bedroom of my home a few months ago and I was totally impressed their service. An electrician team was dispatched to my home within 2 hours and they diagnosed and fixed the problem within 1/2 hr. This week I had a MAJOR electrical issue in my home and again, I called McGuire Electric and another electrician team was dispatched to the house within 2 hours. As I said...it was a major issue. This review is long past due as McGuire Electric serviced our home last November. We needed our electrical box in our basement moved. They not only responded to my inquiry same day, but also were able to give me an appointment as soon as I could be available. The performed the work within the time they promised and we were back up and running with electricity within a matter of hours. McGuire Electric also stayed in contact with us, providing updates on when the city inspector would be coming. Regarding price, I am not familiar with the work so couldn't say on my own, but I did have my brother who works with electrical in his line of work take a look at the quote and he deemed it a very fair price for the amount of work to be done. My parents also had McGuire add lighting in their dining room just recently and were very happy with the results. They were hosting a gathering the following day so were concerned about mess.
