Let me start by saying that in business, the most important things to me are customer service and the quality of goods/services provided. I commissioned a trophy to be made by these guys about two months ago and was told it would be ready in a couple of weeks. The design was essentially a trophy base with a mount to fit a glove. I was quoted $50 for a basic trophy, and about $75 for a more customized trophy for a "specialized mount for the glove." After a month, I hadn't heard from them yet, so I phoned in. They told me they hadn't even started on it yet, and had questions on some of the specifications. Doesn't necessarily make me feel like the most important customer. Customer service sin #1. They ask me to come in to make a few decisions about the trophy, so I head in. I give them more specs, and they say it should be ready in another 2 or 3 weeks. Great. Again, about a month goes by and I have to reach out because I haven't heard back from them yet. They say it's not done yet, but they will rush to get it done. When I go to pick it up, they charge me $145, almost double the $75 quote. Overpromise and underdeliver. Customer service sin #2. Overcharge by 2 times the quoted amount? Customer service sin #3. When I challenge the charged price the manager comes out and says "What, you don't want to pay for your trophy?" I explain to him my hesitation due to the cost discrepancy. Without even looking me in the eye, he just says "Fine, what do you wanna pay?" I tell him I'd pay $85, and he says "Fine," takes my payment, and walks away without saying thank you. Rudeness. Customer service sin #4. The trophy base looks great, but the specialized portion they "made" for the gauntlet is just a square block that the gauntlet doesn't even fit on. They wanted to charge me double for... this? Customer service sin #5. Respect yourself by going elsewhere, 'cause in my experience, they won't respect you here. read more

They went above and beyond and the engraving was perfect. 100 percent recommend. We came in needing a watch engraved with a sensitive time frame and under extreme circumstances. They were so accommodating, kind and professional. I will never go to another place again for engraving. read more

McGee's came the rough for us once again. I have had them etch a few steel rods for me in the past. They were completed in a few days. The etching is very easy to read. I'm glad to know they are around. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but they went so above and beyond for me over the weekend that I just can't help it. I realized on Saturday that I hadn't picked up my plaque being engraved for an awards banquet that was happening that evening. Much to my chagrin, they were closed on Saturdays. after calling frantically to all the stores one of the McGee brothers answered at the American Fork store. He agreed to try and get in touch with his brother to ask about his availability for potentially meeting me at the Midvale store. He called back quickly and within the hour had agreed to meet me at the store. This over the top service was greatly appreciated and made the banquet that much better. My son needed nameplates for his Eagle Scout project for some plaques for a veterans memorial. Kenna worked directly with my son and the nameplates came out beautifully. McGee's delivered a beautiful product and helped my son make his deadline. We also had McGee's make a nameplate for the project with my son's name as a last minute surprise and once again, they didn't disappoint. I highly recommend McGee's to everyone. They did a very good job engraving some pieces of jewelry for family after a funeral. The service was friendly and very fast and the quality of work was very good and greatly appreciated. If you need something engraved, I definitely recommend McGee's Stamp & Trophy Co. I would tell everyone DO NOT COME TO THIS BUSINESS! I had a collection of Belt Buckle, gathered for years. I took them to McGee's for engraving and when I went to pick them up. Every one of the Belt Buckles were RUINED!!! I tried to get McGee's to fix the problem! They took "ALL" of the buckles and I never seen them again!! Years of collecting and 12 special gifts were gone and McGee's had NO IDEA what happened to my treasure!!! Please go anywhere but to McGee's! I would also add that McGee's had the Buckles for months and still were not ready for me to pick up my buckles. I went there numerous time, only to be told that my things were not read. After months of waiting, I was given my things and every "one" of the buckles were wrong!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! Please go anywhere else but to McGee's! They lost my items and offered me NO compensation! They have terrible customer service and no trained staff! Terrible place! read more

I had a great experience today with McGee's in Midvale. They were justified in charging me much more than they did. I ended up arguing that the price should be higher and they argued that the price should be lower. they won. They essentially covered the cost of a mistake I made. I was really impressed with that kind of customer service. I'll keep coming back! read more

Terrible experience. Had an order due at 4PM and when I came to pick it up it hadn't even been started yet. No apology, no offer to make it up to me somehow. I had received positive reviews from friends and coworkers but I will be sure to relay my experience back to them and to anyone that is looking for an engraving service. read more

I left my brother's heirloom Missionary Pocket Watch and gave detailed instructions for completing the engraving on the back cover about two weeks ago. The engraver himself took down my requests, said that it should be done by last Wednesday or Thursday, and that they would call me when it was ready to pick up. I called them a week after the promised completion date and they hadn't even started on it yet, but promised it would be complete the next day. When I went to pick it up today, I found that they had not matched the existing font as had been promised. The employee who I was speaking with said he couldn't be held responsible for what the engraver who took my order had promised. He said I didn't understand "how things are done here" and then he actually accused me of lying before insulting the condition of the watch piece. I requested a refund which the employee proceeded to practically throw at me before crumpling my work order and stomping away. I know a business who works with McGee's for their employee recognition awards and I have been very impressed with the quality of their work which is why I trusted them with this special item. I may consider working with them again in the future, but it will definitely take some time to get over this experience. read more
