Listen... This Bakery is very delicious. I'm sooo extremely impressed by the "Danish" the doughnuts, the cinnamon rolls were Uber good. The atmosphere is very clean, inside and out. The staff is very friendly, informative and welcoming. They have covered samples for you to taste. Listen if you live in Georgia, get in your car and go try it. read more

still our favorite be coming here over 10 years. Always fresh and they always look good enough not to eat. Grab and go case is the first stop and then head over for dessert. Service is 10 stars every time and a treat for any occasion. I will mix the egg salad and chicken salad together every time. read more

Nice bakery with good customer service. I've had the cheese straws, chicken salad and cake squares. Everything I've tried from here has been really good. Small parking lot. This place is a gem, highly recommend read more

I came here as a part of a Yelp promotion so I feel bad to write a so-so review. I didn't like the petit fours, but people were buying tons of them so maybe it's me. The cheese sticks were delicious. My favorite thing was the "slice of heaven" which is just over the top and was eaten over several days so I don't go into a sugar coma. The restaurant also does sandwiches and salads and was packed on a Saturday morning. If I'm in the area, I'd stop for that cookie cake slice! read more

Love this bakery! The sandwiches don't disappoint and very filling. The service here is always outstanding! Everyone makes you feel welcomed when you walk in that door. Even after having lunch, it's hard to walk away without getting some pastries for later. There's so many to choose from! Will visit more often. read more

These cupcakes were soooo heavenly! We had them catered for a holiday company lunch, and everyone including me wouldn't stop raving about them! We got 7 different flavors, but I was only able to get the strawberry one which seemed like a crowd favorite! I absolutely loved how the icing was a softer and whipped cream cheese and the cake was so moist! It was definitely on the sweeter side, but I'd just take the frosting off and go with the cake if you don't enjoy super sweet things. When I was taking all the cupcakes out, I could feel how fresh each cupcake was. My coworker said the staff was super friendly and packed the cupcakes in trays inside some boxes and loaded into her car when she showed up. I can't wait to come by and order some of their cakes next! read more

I gave the bakery another try, purchased a strawberry cake (based on staff recommendation) for derby party last weekend. It was not good IMO. Tasted like synthetic strawberry. I've had so much better. I think I'll stick to Paris baguette for my cakes (so much better IMO). read more

I heard so many good things about this place and so glad got a chance to finally visit. I got strawberry cake and German chocolate cake for the party and they both were so good. My family is from New Orleans and we grew up eating King Cakes every Mardi Gras season. We always compare local King Cakes to our favorite one from back home. A few of the ones we find in the Atlanta area are ok, but most just disappoint. My family went crazy when I brought them a King Cake from McEntyre's yesterday! The smell, the taste, and the deliciousness was spot on!!! Some of us even thought the McEntyre's version was better than the ones from back home. Thank you, McEntyre's Bakery, for providing us with a fantastic taste of home! read more

I was visiting a friend in the A and wanted to find a dope bakery to get her a cake for her birthday. This bakery is THE BEST!! We went for the birthday cake and stayed for the cookies, discount bakery items, and mini sandwiches... They have one layer cakes which was perfect since it was just the two of us and I wanted to get her a whole cake not just a slice. As you can see, we couldn't wait and we dove into the cake right there in the parking lot! I barely had a chance to get the candles in there so I could sing happy birthday...lol This will be my go to bakery whenever I'm in Atlanta. Everything we tried has been perfection! read more

Absolutely the best bakery in Atlanta. Donuts and Cinnamon rolls are so popular that I recommend you get there early. They freeze well, so get extra. The cakes are delicious! I can't say enough good things about McIntyre's Bakery! I ordered a 12" three layered Carrot Cake for my wife's 60th birthday dinner with 14 of our friends at Henry's Louisiana Grill in Acworth and it was AWESOME! Everyone at the table raved on about how moist and delicious it was and wanted to know where I got it from. Even after everyone eating a slice, and giving everyone a slice to go, we still had a third of it to take home. Storing it in a Tupperware dish at home, I've been eating on it for 7 days now and it is just as moist and delicious as it was on her birthday. Oh and the price can't be beat! All the dinner guest were shocked when I told them how cheap it was! Highly recommend McIntyre's Bakery! I will definitely be back! read more

McEntyre's is my absolute favorite, local, hometown, bakery. My family has been coming to them since I was a little child. I've been bringing my adult kids to them since they were little children. The sandwiches and sides are fresh and delicious. The cake squares are worthy of a magical tea party in your favorite fairytale. The eclairs, my favorite, are top notch. I'm never disappointed with my goodies. It's clean and orderly. Everything is labeled and priced for easy viewing, and the staff is always warm and helpful. They just can't be beat! read more

I was looking for a Coconut Cake at the last minute. They had many. Fair price. Friendly service. Delicious cake.

I found McEntyre's as I was searching for a place to purchase lots of pastries for a research group I work with. They had tons of options and great prices. I didn't get to sample any of the treats but heard feedback from the group I brought the pastries to that they were delicious. read more

McEntyre's was the go-to bakery back in the day. I haven't been there in more than a decade, but I wanted to surprise my daughter, who's visiting from NY. To my delight, their baked goods are as yummy as we remembered them to be. Their signature cake used to be orange chiffon. Now it's special order so we were out of luck. We used to love their peanut butter bars. Check! They have 'em and my guests gobbled them up. In lieu of the orange cake I chose lemon -- and boy, was that good. Moist, flavorful with a gooey filling -- is it lemon curd? -- and again, a hit with my company. The staff is very nice and I'm happy to report that they're serious about taking COVID precautions. Since I've been to the shop (which has moved since I was last there) they've expanded their menu with sandwiches, Brunswick stew and other non-bakery items. While they're a bit pricey, they sell day-old baked goods at a very reduced rate. read more

Nestled in the heart of Smyrna on Concord Road inside of a small shopping center sits McEntyre's Bakery. If you know Smyrna, then you know of this place. While they are mostly known for their baked goods such as cakes, cookies, cupcakes, etc...some may find it surprising to find out that they have a solid selection of savory items as well. Parking - Not bad, enough spaces through out the small shopping plaza for you to pop in and out when needed. Decor - McEntyre's has remained the same since the beginning. When you walk in, you are transported back a few years and definitely know you are in a local little bakery from the china cabinets with packaged goodies with prices highlighted in written signs, to the old photos marking special occasions and special patrons hung on the wall all the way to the old school boom box playing soft music near the entry door. I will say they have tried to bring a few updated pieces in, but mostly it's kind of dated at this point. Interestingly enough the dated nature of things runs into their online presence as well. Their website is something to behold, they are all about the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" mantra for the shop and their site! Desserts - This is the real reason I came here! I have heard great things about their cakes, but unfortunately I was in a time crunch, so ended up going for a box of random treats for a birthday. Started with a few cookies, a mini cupcake and a cake square. Cookies were both chocolate chip and the cakes were both of the strawberry variety. Sadly, while the things looked pretty tasty, all four items tasted old and a little stale. The cookies were tough and the cakes were lackluster. It was a huge bummer. They had a decent variety of items in the cases, all of which looked good...maybe I just got a bad batch of a few things? Service - This was two fold for me, as the young gentleman that helped me with choosing my desserts and packaging them was less than enthused to be assisting me - his attitude was anything but "sweet". However, once I got my items and went to the register, the young lady there was all smiles with a friendly and warm attitude. As mentioned above, they also offer some savory items such as sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads. So, you can get a full lunch here and top it off with some dessert! You can order from the menu or you can pick up some of their pre-made and packaged items that are hanging out in the cooler. Most of the items I saw were pasta salads, soups, dips, etc... Overall, I was less impressed with McEntyre's than I thought I would be. I know I only had a select few items, but my overall experience was just "meh". Since I am a Smyrna local now, I will use McEntyre's in the future to keep supporting local and to see if all these reviews about those full cakes are true! For me, so far...it really is "ok". read more

I absolutely love this bakery. I live in New York City and have tried hundreds of bakeries and this is the best by far. My favorite treat in the Atlanta area. I have been going here at least once a year since I was a little girl - they make the most wonderful cakes. Their yellow cake is just absolutely amazing - nothing better to compare it to. This year we came here for Christmas cookies, cakes, and rolls for gifts and celebrations and everything was wonderful. The cheese straws are the best I've ever had. I recommend this place x10000! We love McEntyre's, a great local bakery! The cupcakes, cookies and cakes are all very tasty!

Do not call and order a creative cake. It must be plain and easy or it's apparently too much for then to handle. I asked for a two tier cake green frosted with gold $ symbols and the person on the phone got very rude and informed me that it would be hand painted and is a cost in an accusatory tone as though I was asking for them to just make me a cake and not pay for it. Very disappointed and discouraging that I was treated in such a way. read more

I have ordered twice from McEntyre's for my office. They did not disappoint. The cupcakes were a hit

Called to see if I could make an appointment to talk through a cake order for a rehearsal dinner. ( as it indicates on their website to do) Abruptly told they don't take appts anymore? I asked who I might speak to about the order and was told Lynette didn't have a set schedule and it varied each week?! Mr McEntyre don't let your employees run you out of business. Absolutely terrible. I was excited to try this place given the good reviews, but what a letdown. The blueberry pie we tried was completely inedible - grainy, not sweet, and didn't taste like blueberries at all. Frankly, it was an abomination (not using that word lightly) and we had to throw it in the garbage... The pot pies were bland and the cinnamon rolls had an interesting artificial flavor that wasn't the best, but were at least almost as good as the ones you can buy in a can and bake yourself. This place is a real bakery? Nothing we tried indicated that...and one of the items I wouldn't even call food. Crazy. read more

The owner of this bakery is a class act. Not too long ago, he extended me exceptional customer service. And the oatmeal cookies are delish.

This is the best bakery ever and a very rare find. Traditional old fashioned bakeries like this don't even exist anymore and are hard to find. The frosted sugar cookies are so whimsical. This bakery was able to produce this absolutely flawless exquisite cake and cupcakes with 48 hours' notice. I gave them the order over the phone and e-mailed them a pic of the cake I wanted, and they duplicated it with perfection. The pictured cake is half almond pound and half strawberry supreme with buttercream frosting. Some yellow cupcakes and some chocolate cupcakes all with buttercream frosting. No fake-tasting frosting on these cakes! It's the real deal like my dearly departed Aunt Pearl used to make. Simple powdered sugar confection. You sure can't find that anywhere anymore. This bakery is loaded! with all kinds of goodies, breads, pies, cakes, and cake slices, donuts and on and on... Everything seems homemade and tastes so good. I could sleep in this place. I bought one of their holiday combos for Thanksgiving. We got a pumpkin pie, a German chocolate cake, a cheese ball and two bags of rolls. I think that was one of the best German chocolate cakes I have ever had! And the pumpkin pie is sooooo yummy! I think they put an extra special spice in it that gives it a very unique taste. I hope they do the holiday combos for Christmas! Oh, and don't forget to sign up for emails! You will get a reminder when they have a lunch combo. This was my first time visiting this bakery. The spot reminds you of a candy / sweet shop in the mountains. Now I have missed feelings about this place. When I went in no one greeted me. Finally, this younger male came to the counter with a real unpleasant attitude. I thought it was just me but he did the same to another customer. I just went ahead and ordered two cookies. He placed the cookies in a bag and just sat them on the counter. An older grey headed lady was behind the counter as well and never uttered a word. She just continued to do what she was doing. I just stood there wondering what was happening. Finally, a pleasant acting young lady came up and asked if I had been helped. I told her that the man placed cookies in the bag and just sat it on the counter. She apologized and said she would help and finished my purchase. She was really nice, but I cannot say the same about the male or older lady. Needless to say I am not sure whether I would frequent this establishment in the future. I love to support local small businesses; however, if the customer service isn't there...I just cannot to it. read more
