I really appreciate that it's a smaller, family run operation rather than a big dental chain. It's more personal, less corporate, and I like that vibe. Now I'll admit... I am terrible at going to the dentist. Not because I'm scared, I just don't think about it, and I've been lucky enough not to have dental issues. I probably went a solid six years without a cleaning, but I finally made it back and promised myself to stay on top of it this time. After rescheduling a couple of times, I made myself go... but of course, traffic had other plans. I called to let them know I'd be about 15 minutes late, and the woman who answered was so sweet. She double checked and reassured me they could still see me, which I really appreciated. Check in was quick and painless, and I was called back within minutes. The dental assistant was super friendly and threw some compliments my way.... flattery will get you everywhere, ma'am. And then Dr. Quang gave me the ultimate boost: he complimented my teeth and how straight they are and was shocked that I never had braces. That's like winning the dental lottery! Cleaning was quick and smooth, and I was booked for my next appointment six months out. Which I will remember, thanks to their handy reminder texts and calls. Thank you, First Dental, for the confidence boost and for making it easy to keep up with dental care! I'll be back, on time next time, I promise.

I had avoided the dentist for as long as possible, but when the pain became unbearable, I knew I had to face my fears. From the moment I stepped into Everlast Dental in Citrus Heights, I was met with compassion and understanding. The staff listened to my anxieties and took the time to understand my past traumas. They worked with me at my pace, ensuring I felt safe and supported every step of the way. Dr. Nha-An Nguyen and her team were nothing short of extraordinary. Liana, my RDA held my hand, offered breaks when needed, and used calming techniques like essential oils and weighted blankets to help me relax. Each visit was tailored to my comfort, and over several weeks, we addressed the damage to my teeth. As of May 23, 2025, I now have a beautiful set of porcelain veneers, handpicked to create a smile that reflects my true self. Dr. Nguyen's attention to detail has given me not just a new smile, but a renewed sense of confidence. I can finally smile freely in photos with my son, something I never thought possible. Even though I still experience some anxiety before each visit, the team at Everlast Dental has never given up on me. They have been patient, kind, and unwavering in their support. I now look forward to my dental appointments, knowing that I am in the hands of professionals who truly care. If you're like me, terrified of the dentist, I want you to know that you're not alone. Everlast Dental is a place where fear is met with empathy, and healing is possible. You can do it, and you deserve to feel good about your smile. Thank you, Everlast Dental, for changing my life. also, shout out to Krystal at the front desk, who cried as hard as I did when she saw my new teeth for the first time. I needed to find a new dentist because I had just moved to the area and found Everlast Dental. I…read morefound the office to be very clean and pleasant. But when the dentist examined my teeth and told me I needed about $10,000 worth of dental work, I was in shock. She wanted to replace many of my crowns. I had been going to the dentist at 6-month intervals for over 30 years and never had any of them tell me that my teeth had any problems at all other than an occasional cavity, and it had probably been over 10 years since I'd even had one of those. I've been brushing 3 times daily and flossing once a day for many years. And I had no pain or dental problems in years. Dr. Nguyen told me that my insurance wouldn't cover much of it but there was financing available. She told me to make an appointment on the way out, which I most certainly did NOT do. The next day I called the last dentist I'd seen six months earlier (before moving), who'd been my dentist for the previous 13 years. I told him about my experience with Dr. Nguyen and, asked what his opinion would be, based on my last appointment with him 6 months earlier. He said the only way he would agree with Dr. Nguyen would be if I was leaving for Africa the next day and would be in an area where there would be no access to a dentist for the next ten years. He said my crowns would wear out, and one was close to doing so, but if I was seeing a dentist every six months there was absolutely no reason to replace them all now. They could be replaced as needed. That was all I needed to hear. I found a different dentist who essentially told me the same thing, and over a year later I still have all the same crowns without a single problem. Ever get the feeling that someone's giving you a quote for something while thinking about how they're going to pay for their extravagant vacation? Yeah, me too. My only regret is that I really liked the hygienist who had cleaned my teeth there. If she reads this, I'd like her to know that she had nothing to do with my dissatisfaction there.

I'll start by saying that the staff is all very kind, including the dentist. It's the quality of care that concerns me. When I arrived for my 1st appointment there were 3 other patients ahead of me. I found this to be a little strange since there was only 1 dentist on site. I probably waited 45 minutes to be seen, which i didn't mind. But he was turning patients over WAY too fast, which was my 1st red flag. I have been to a wide range of dentist, from high end to medi-cal, so I have a great guage of quality care. This was the worst dentist I've ever been to. Here are the issues I had: 1. A good dentist will assess and document the depth of the gum pockets of each tooth. This is so they can keep track of them getting worse. He quickly checked my gum pockets but did not measure or document any of them. 2. It felt like he was ice picking my teeth, old fillings, and sealant with his little metal hook. Those hooks are generally used for scraping plaque and testing the severity of cavities, NOT hacking away at fillings and seals. I felt like he was damaging my teeth to the point where I stopped him and asked what he was doing. At the end of his inspection he said that i had a cavity that needed filled because it looked like an old filling had "fell out". I'm pretty sure he had just hacked it out with his pic. Mind you I've never lost a filling before and my last dentist said my teeth were great 6 months ago. Very suspicious. I've never had a dentist use a pic in such an aggressive and abrasive way on my teeth. 3. For my cleaning the assistant didn't use ANY water. She just used dry toothpaste with the little cleaning device, and the air suction thing. It felt very dry and ineffective. She didn't floss my teeth, which is ALWAYS included in a cleaning, and she didn't offer fluoride afterwards, which is usually always included as well. Now I see why the turnover rate was so fast. After I was done they reminded me to make an appointment to get my cavity refilled ASAP. No thank you. I will not be returning to that place. I feel like they are taking advantage of people. I didn't even get a proper cleaning, which was the whole reason I came.

Dr. Winger is an exceptional dentist…read more The dental staff, are amazing: Bre- kind, understanding, conversational, very relatable and wants to help; Colleen- adept at delivering unfortunate news while maintaining professionalism... very skilled at her craft. Despite the above praise, there are critical issues with this office that have unfortunately expanded since Jamey retired - my issues revolve around solely the front office staff as well as the designation of this office as a Delta Dental Premier Provider, despite the customer service, scheduling, and billing practices being akin to a less-than-basic Medi-Cal Dental office. Beginning with the front office staff when Jamey was managing the operations. Jamey was bubbly, considerate, truly caring - did everything she could to make patients feel heard, comfortable, and made sure to never offend - I mean, the prices here are much higher, so this is the expectation at their price point. After Jamey retired, Tammy (the claims/billing specialist) unfortunately resumed communications with customers. Tammy is an anxious, rude, and unkind person who has no business working with the public- she used to work from home/behind the glass door, but now she is working with patients full-time, much to the detriment of this business, in my experience. Here is an example: After having a front tooth broken during a boxing hard sparring match, Colleen kindly explained that due to how the tooth had broken off, a post was not possible. She then called in Tammy to explain the metrics. While between jobs (I had told the hygenist - no one else, which is strange these two knew about it, indicating they placed these notes in the system... CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY TO THEM!!), I was concerned about the price (I still had the same insurance so that wasn't a problem), something was not explained to me, and I expressed what was not conveyed to me, to Tammy and Colleen. Tammy then had an outburst and retorted "WELL YOU DIDN'T TELL US YOU WERE LOSING YOUR JOB!" It was extremely unprofessional and categorically incorrect - I had the same insurance (you know, COBRA...?) so it was also irrelevant. It made me feel terrible and I really didn't need her in there. I've never witnessed such an outburst in a dental setting and would never expect this from a premier provider dental office. Despite Tammy no longer being needed in the room, she remained. I looked over to Colleen and spoke/looked only to her for the remainder of my visit - being unaware of her own irrational behavior and how it impacts others, I'm not surprised Tammy remained in the room, despite her not even saying anything, just standing around. It was so gross. Example 2: After receiving my long-awaited implants for back teeth missing for quite some time (over a decade) I was under the assumption that I could utilize a payment plan as I had in the past (since it was part of my original treatment plan). I was so happy to have my teeth restored, they looked amazing, they felt amazing, I was absolutely elated and pleased with the work. This was one of my last visits at this office - I already knew Tammy was unsavory and mentally prepared myself. I was clearly in a good mood. Tammy was there to discuss the cost with me regarding the implants after insurance pays (just under 2k) I said "...I was hoping to get on a payment plan for the implants like I was before." And Tammy's face lit up into a smile "Absolutely not!" she grimaced, "We are not offering payment plans at this time!" I asked her why not, as I had utilized this in the past and she advised "Since the implants were not in your original treatment plan, we will not be providing a payment plan." The implants ABSOLUTELY were part of my treatment plan - the teeth were missing for YEARS. This was very disheartening, especially since she was so giddy to tell me the bad news. She then said "it was up to the "book keeper." I asked to speak to the book keeper, and she said "they work off-site, I don't know the next time they will be in the office!" I asked to receive a call from the book keeper and she said she would give them my number. Tammy could have said "Let me check with Dr. Winger and get back to you," But never did until after being difficult, and never advised she would talk to him. It's quite clear she is unfit to be working with the public. After, I received an email from Tammy, she knew she irritated me - that was likely her plan. They offered me a payment plan. Kayleigh is being trained by Tammy, so she is learning poor habits. Additionally, they have zero timely openings- I scheduled a cleaning at their EARLIEST APPOINTMENT in October... they scheduled me for March LMAO. It's like a bad joke it is so terrible. The cleaning is the same as it is everywhere else, except since they are a Premier Provider, they leave you with a MUCH larger copay!! I recommend avoiding this place, as I asked to be placed on a list for cancelations, and have heard absolutely NOTHING.

The first time I walked in to Jaime's replacement, she never greeted me, and just stared at her computer. I had to say hello? Before she glanced my way. Also, I feel like they overbook hygienists . One left me in the chair at the end of a cleaning to get her new client set up. She then had someone else finish mine up. I waited 15 minutes for anyone to show back up! She seemed very anxious about getting to the new patient. It feels like they schedule patients back to back with no time for anything extra! I'm out to seek a non- rushed, attentive to patient's needs office! A hygienist should not feel so much pressure to get to a new patient that she deserts her current patient! Bye
